The Seven Spirits of God Are Inside You

Isaiah 11:2

The spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him — the spirit of wisdom, the spirit of understanding, the spirit of counsel, the spirit of might, the spirit of knowledge, and of the fear of the Lord.

This is not saying the Spirit of God is seven. It is describing the several manifestations of the one Spirit.

Think of an orange. You cannot eat an orange without finding the seed, the juice, the fiber — all of it comes with the orange. The same way, when the Spirit of God rests upon you, you have all of these manifestations inside you.

The Bible says as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Being led by the Spirit of God is not just a fuzzy feeling that shakes the body in church. It is bigger than that.

If the Spirit of God is inside, then the spirit of wisdom is inside. The spirit of counsel is inside. The spirit of might is inside. You cannot be led by the Spirit of God and be foolish.

How did wrong choices happen? Because there was no recognition of who was inside. More attention was given to the outside than what was going on inside.

I Have a Father

Matthew 22:1-14

A certain king made a marriage for his son. He sent servants to call those who were invited — they would not come. He sent again — they made light of it, went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise. Some laid hold of the servants and murdered them.

The king was wroth, sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city. Then he said, go to the highways — anybody you find, both good and bad, bring them in.

Here is an important question: the son who was getting married — what did he do? What was his contribution?

The father footed the bill. The father handled the attackers. The father said since the original guests would not come, go find new ones. The father handled everything.

All this son needed to know was: my father is this.

I just need to know that you are my Father. I just need to believe that you are my Abba. I just need to understand that nothing I face will be bigger than you. I need to understand that my mistakes do not threaten our relationship.

This resurrection life received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life — it is adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike "what's next, Papa?"

Because there is always a what's next with God. God never runs out of options.

They knew him as God but never treated him as God. You know you have a father but you never involve him like your Father.

Wherever you find yourself, remember the fatherhood of God. You have been begotten. The Bible says you are joint heirs with Christ — all that he is and all that he has.

It is wisdom to walk knowing that you have a Father.

Warfare Is a Sign of an Approaching Celebration

When the invitees said they were not coming, not once did the son fret. He didn't run to his father crying, "Daddy, they said they are not coming." His voice is not even heard in the passage. He was just quiet.

One major sign that celebration is around the corner is when warfare heightens. Go through the scripture — warfare has always been a precursor, a landmark, a signpost of a celebration season.

Some battles may come this year. Never forget — warfare is always a sign that something bigger than what was prayed for is about to unfold.

Stop Acting Like a Civilian — You Are a Soldier

When the king sent the first set of people — ordinary messengers — they were killed. But when he sent the armies, the story changed entirely.

2 Timothy 2:4 — No soldier in active service gets entangled in the ordinary business affairs of civilian life.

When the soldiers came, they knew what the matter was. Stop showing up as a civilian.

If you look at a Roman soldier, his helmet, breastplate, sword, belt, shield, and feet are all prepared. All his weapons are in front — which means turning back is not an option. You cannot retreat as a soldier.

• Helmet of salvation — know your identity in Christ
• Breastplate of righteousness — not what you produce by works, but what he has done for you
• Shield of faith — the substance of things hoped for
• Sword of the Spirit — the word of God
• Belt of truth
• Feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace

Don't do business this year like a civilian. Don't live this year like a civilian.

When fear wants to come, tell fear: I am not a civilian. When affliction wants to attack those around you, scream back at the devil: I am not a civilian. Whatsoever I bind on earth shall be bound in heaven.

For no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against me in judgment shall be condemned.

Beware of Those Who Make Light of You

The people who were invited made light of it. Everything they did came from verse 5 — they made light of it.

Beware of those who make light of you.

Beware of those who make light of the hand of God upon your life. They never see your purpose. They never see your future. They carry the file of your yesterday, moving around.

Some are still trying to heal from how people made light of them in childhood. Still trying to heal from relationships where someone never saw their worth.

Be selective in those brought into the circle. Once in a while, look at the people connected with and ask: who have I become connecting with this person? Has my purpose increased? Has something sharpened in my life?

Correct me — but don't make light of my purpose. There are those who never see you. No matter what is done, they never believe in the future.

Don't make light of me. I am full of wisdom. I am a dynamite. I am complete in him who is the head of all principalities and powers. The thoughts he thinks toward me are thoughts of good and not of evil — to give me a future and an expected end.
