Why God's Love Must Be Known

When God loves a man, it is important for that man to know it — because a great deal depends on his understanding of God's love.

Your faith may never be strong until you are sure of the love God has for you.

Romans 8:32: "If He did not withhold His only begotten Son, but gave Him freely for us, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" When you find faith giants who make declarations and things happen, one of the foundations and pillars of that faith is an acute understanding of God's love. Every other thing you demand is part of the "also" — it is already included. The hard thing was the Son. And because of His love, He gave Him freely.

Dealing with cancer is "also." Prosperity is "also." Spiritual empowerment is "also." If God could give His Son through death — through a separation in the Godhead, through the cry of Jesus from the cross, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken Me?" — then everything else has already been settled.

If that truth and that love becomes real to your spirit, anywhere you stand to speak in the name of the Lord, you will have audacity. There will be no fear in your spirit. Galatians 5:6: faith worketh by love. A man who does not truly know God's love will always have areas where he cannot be certain God will act. But those who know His love — when they exercise faith, it is not a struggle.

Love Is What Keeps Believers Standing

Not knowing the love of God is one of the primary reasons believers fall away. When you find people who are standing for God and nothing takes them out — not the offense of men, not tribulations, not fear, not attacks — it is not because they haven't been through things. The reason they can weather the storm is because of the love of God.

Romans 8:35–39: "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Paul's persuasion was experiential. He had been through tribulation, distress, persecution, peril, and the sword. And in all of it, the love of God held him. The love of God is not a theological comfort — it is a spiritual anchor that holds you when every external support is removed.

How to Receive the Love of God

1. Receive It Through the Cross

   John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son." The cross is the clearest revelation of the love of God. When you understand what it cost — the separation within the Godhead, the shame, the suffering, the death — you understand the measure of the love. Meditate on the cross until the love becomes personal, not just doctrinal.

2. Receive It Through the Spirit

   Romans 5:5: "The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us." The Holy Spirit is the divine agent who makes the love of God an experiential reality — not just a fact you know but a love you feel and walk in. Yield to the Spirit and ask Him to make the love of God a living reality in your heart.

3. Receive It Through the Word

   The Word is full of demonstrations and declarations of God's love. Jeremiah 31:3: "I have loved you with an everlasting love." Zephaniah 3:17: "The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty. He will save. He will rejoice over thee with joy. He will rest in His love. He will joy over thee with singing." Receiving God's love through the Word means letting the declarations of His love become your personal testimony — not just scripture you can quote but truth that defines how you see yourself.

4. Receive It Through Obedience

   John 14:21: "He that has My commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves Me. And he that loves Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him and will manifest Myself to him." Obedience opens the door to a deeper experience of God's love. It is not that God loves the obedient more in His essential love — but the obedient create the conditions for a deeper manifestation of the love they already have.

Faith Giants Are Love Giants First

Faith giants are first of all love giants. The great men and women of faith in scripture were not primarily people of strong willpower or exceptional intellect. They were people who were rooted in the love of God — who knew it, who lived from it, who refused to let circumstances redefine it.

Abraham believed God when everything around him said the promise was impossible — because he knew the God who made the promise was a God who loved him. Moses led two million people through the wilderness for forty years — because he had encountered a God whose love was a burning bush that didn't consume.

You want strong faith? Receive strong love. Let the love of God become the immovable foundation beneath everything you believe, everything you declare, and everything you stand for.
