What is the purpose of mentoring
The purpose of mentorship is essentially the transfer of virtue and the compression of time. A mentor lets you inherit in years or less what would otherwise cost you decades of trial and error; you stand on their revelation instead of starting from zero. "Impartation" — grace, character and understanding passing from one who has walked the road to one still walking it.
Among other things, mentorship provides:
- Direction and correction — a mentor helps you find your place in destiny and keeps you from avoidable errors.
- Character, not just information — mentorship shapes who you are becoming, not only what you know. Skill or wealth without proper mentorship produces people with capacity but no kingdom orientation.
- Accountability and covering — someone who can see your blind spots and speak into your life.

So these days, many Christain today blame the devil for many of their predicament in life, Now, in the beginning of creation, there was no devil that tempted Lucifer to become the devil, how then did a former angel of light became the devil, what entered him, how did he turned to rebel against God almighty,
The Bible describes it in two passages. In Ezekiel 28:12–17 God says Lucifer was "perfect in his ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you." What was the iniquity? Verse 17: "Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom by reason of your brightness." And in Isaiah 14:12–14 we hear the rebellion in his own words — five "I will" statements: I will ascend… I will exalt my throne… I will be like the Most High.
So the answer to "what entered him" is: self-generated pride. The very gifts God gave him: beauty, wisdom, brightness, a high position. He began to admire in himself rather than to reflect back to God. He took what was meant to glorify God and turned it inward. Pride made him crave for himself the worship that belongs only to God, and that craving became rebellion. Pride is the original sin of the universe and humility is the safeguard. The same corruption that fell an archangel still works "from the outside in" against us through the pride of life.
This is also why blaming the devil for everything is spiritually dangerous: the devil himself fell not because someone tempted him, but because of a choice in his own heart. It's a reminder that our biggest battles are often internal, and that pride, even over good gifts, is where destinies are lost.

And then, my parents their words keep on causing me injuries, because am not working not that am lazy but I have secured anything yet.
Spent my money to.
How do I apporiate what God is telling me?
On "appropriating what God is telling you" — this is where he is very practical. A word from God is a seed, not a finished harvest. To appropriate it you must:
Hold it in faith and refuse to let discouragement abort it (get Apostle Joshua Selman's message "I Believe — Biblical Anchors for Exploits and Unshakable Faith," July 5)
Do the last thing He clearly told you. Ask: is there something He already showed me that I haven't done yet?
Convert the waiting season into a preparation season. Delay is frequently God's preparation for glory — not rejection. Use it to build skill, character and readiness so that when the door opens, you're ready to walk through it.
Practically, while you wait: keep bringing income or value in some form, however small, and keep honoring your parents even when their words sting — honor is a spiritual key, not a reward for their kindness. This protects your peace and your destiny.
I recently graduated and served at kano state and I was sure, God led me there but after service, I returned to ebonyi but currently without a job nor a skill but God has said things to me.
I want to know if there is anything, I am not doing.
First, the gap in your own words: "no skill." God's promises are real, but they usually flow through developed capacity. In his teaching (and strongly in Apostle Femi Lazarus's messages), talent and prophecy without a marketable, cultivated skill often stall. So one honest answer to "what am I not doing?" may be: acquire a skill. Pick something you can learn and monetize, and begin — the anointing rests on what your hand finds to do. Your NYSC year led you somewhere on purpose; don't despise this quieter season of building.
Second, do the revealed will while waiting for the specific will. God is often not withholding direction; He's waiting on you to act on what He's already said. Apostle Joshua Selman teaches divine direction comes clearest to those already in motion, walking in obedience, prayer and diligence. So take inventory: of the "things God has said," which one requires an action from you right now that you haven't taken? Start there.
Concretely: keep your fellowship and prayer life alive, name and pursue one skill, apply widely, and steward this season faithfully. Direction tends to unfold step by step, not all at once.
Recommend listening to: "This Is the Way (The Power of Divine Direction)" and "Matters of Destiny Part 1: Finding Your Place in Destiny" by Apostle Joshua Selman — both on his page. For the skill/work dimension, "It Takes 5 Minutes to Know a Man That Will Succeed" and "What Nobody Tells You About 9–5" by Apostle Femi Lazarus.
HOW DOES ONE ACQUIRE THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE ACADEMIC LIFE AND SPEAK IN TONGUES AS A BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN
I'd say being filled with holy spirit can be done alone by constantly seeking him.
But the fastest way especially to receive is to go to a gathering where the gift is prominent and fellowship, like fire moving from one material to the other, you will be ignited faster
Is there a way I can contribute my own sermon notes to your archive? Keep up the great work
Can someone pls help me. I am rising and falling in my Christian journey. Tired of this sin and repent syndrome.
PLEASE AND PLEASE COME TO MY RESCUE .
If we all to be honest with ourselves, almost everyone has the feeling of rising and falling in their Christian journey.
It's what we do in our lows that matters.
One other thing to consider is why do you feel you are failing? Sometimes failure is a feeling birthed from uncertainty.
