Luke 18:1-8, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Acts 2:42, Acts 6:3-4, Mark 1:35 - 37

The easiest way to influence people is not to instruct them, but to model what you want them to do.

Act 4:2

Prayer generally is defined as communicating with God - our way of communicating our thoughts, needs and desires to God.

Prayer is also a way of communion and fellowship. 2 Corinthians 13:14

The value of prayer goes beyond an individual - It can affect and influence individuals, families, communities, territories - prayer can affect and influence everything.

What prayer does in the life of a believer. Recap and Continuation

  1. Prayer creates a platform for communion and fellowship, thereby deepening the relationship with God.

    Daniel 11:32, John 17:3, Jeremiah 9:23-24

The believer’s confidence in this kingdom is derived from having a personal and functional knowledge of God.

Four ways the bible recommends if you desire to know God

    1. Through the study of scripture John 5:39
    2. By studying His names
    3. By studying the man Jesus(The express image of the invisible God Colossians 1:15)

By Jesus, the mistakes other prophets made were corrected by studying him.

    4. Our personal experience Job 42:5, Isaiah 43:1–2, 2 Corinthians 4:6

  2. Prayer provides a platform for the believer to encounter the refining and transforming power of God.

A major part of how God answers prayer is to leave the prayer point and grow the one praying, because there are many answers this version of you cannot receive Galatians 4:1

Surrender and brokenness are two words you must never throw out of your mind when you are working with God

  3. Prayer builds within the believer the capacity to trust God.

It builds with the believer conviction

    Jude 1:20

Prayer is the authorised channel to call on God and ask for divine assistance

Prayerlessness is pride, it is proof you don't need the help of God in the affairs of your life.

    James 5:13

If the devil wants to attack you, he creates a system to weaken your prayer lifePhilippians 4:6-7, Jerimiah 33:3

  5. Prayer helps the believer to access the voice of God concerning any and all matters of life and destiny

    Psalms 32:8

One of the reasons people fail in life, is because we guess our path ourselves, emotionally, sometimes intellectually - the bible says there's a problem with that. Proverbs 14:12

The voice of God doesn't just mean sound. It means every scriptural strategy by which he communicates his will and His intent to the believer.

Channels like scripture, intuition of the holy spirit, the knowing of the spirit, all of these are channels of God's voice.

When the instruction is a pivotal one, God may use many channels to communicate it.

    Isaiah 30:21

One of the ways to prepare for destiny is to pay the prize to understand the communications of God.

Speed is useless when direction is not known.

    Exodus 14:15

Direction and guidance is needed from God to get to destiny.

    Guidance focuses on the steps

    Direction is the end point

  6. Prayer is a channel for receiving divine strategies that are consistent with the will of God

    Proverbs 16:9

There are 3 things you need in your life if you want to win

    1. What God has said
    2. The capacity to believe what he has said
    3. And the knowledge to execute what he has said

One of the ways to know you are disciplined in terms of spiritual things is when you know you can do many things but wait for the strategy to come.

    Isaiah 40:31

Men are not that spectacular, their victory is in their capacity to receive strategy for seasons.

The official name given to divine strategy is the wisdom of God.

Message recommendation: The Hidden Wisdom of God

The word hidden there means classified.

    1 Corinthians 2:7

You are as helpless as your prayerlessness.

One of the attributes of God is that He is omniscient. He doesn't learn. He knows all!

  7. The intercessory dimension of prayer allows for divine intervention in the life of others and in a territory

    1 Timothy 2:1-4, Daniel 6:7&10-11&17-22

Satan oppresses a territory by putting a covering cast over the territory - he blinds the territory. People there begin to behave in a way that betrays their education, humanity, intellect.

    Job 38:11

The Bible calls the spiritual protection from prayer and hedge of protection.

    1. Make declarations over your life:

In the name of Jesus, I declare a wall of protection over [mention things you care about]

    2. Intercede over your life and that of others Ezekiel 33:30

Listen to the message: Redefining inheritance

Satan destroys continuity by making the axe head used to cut the wood for the fire fall.

    2 Kings 6:5

In this kingdom come project, everybody has a role.

Listen to the message: Redefining the coming revival

  8. Prayer activates the ministry of angels

    Psalm 91:11

Angels all through scriptures are involved in

    • Worship Revelation 5:11, Revelation 7:11-12
    • Receiving prayers and delivering answers Revelation 8:3-4
    • Warfare Daniel 10:12-13

The Bible calls them ministring spirits.

    Hebrews 1:14

Every time you see the ministry of angels, it is for the benefits of the saints and the advancement of God's program.

    Acts 12:4-8

You do not command Angels - they don't respond to you, they respond to the word of God.

There are different kinds of angels

    1. Every believer has angels attached to them
    2. When you find your assignment, there are angels attached to it
    3. Every ministry serving the program of God has an angel attached to it.
    4. There are angels attached to revelation Revelation 1:1, Genesis 28:12
    5. There are angels attached to offices

In part 3, you would learn why prayers do not get answered.

No matter how word compliant your prayer is, if it does not capture the will of God, there's no guarantee that it will be answered.

1 John 5:14

3 ways to discern the will of God

  1. Scripture
  2. The revelatory ministry of the holy spirit
  3. The advantage of the prophetic

One of the reasons why prayers are not answered is that you do not understand the tripartite formula of:

Believing, receiving and having.

Mark 11:24

You can see all three in play.

Just because it is finished in Christ doesn't mean it will manifest in your life, it must go through an appropriation system. Victory starts by knowing what Christ has done.

The Bible puts it this way “let it be finished on earth as it is in heaven”

Prayer points:

  • Father in the name of Jesus and by the blood of the internal covenant, I decree and I declare that every hold of darkness over my life, family, business, my career, be broken now in the name of Jesus Christ
  • Father, I decree and I declare, that this year, I go forward, I make progress, I start, I continue, I finish in the name of Jesus
  • Every covering cast upon my face, business, ministry, aborting opportunities, stopping my helpers from seeing me, it is torn right now in the name of Jesus.
  • Everyone ordained to help me, they come speedily in name Jesus
  • Pray that God quickens the hearts of everyone who is ordained to stand as advantage, so that they'll make the journey of that contact easy and on time

Help can come too late.

Hebrew 4:16

The value of help is that:

It comes on time

It comes to a degree that it makes a significant impact

Pray now:

  • Let help come on time and to the degree that it makes a significant impact

Time does not change anything, you have to enforce it by faith.

Pray now:

  • Everything that refuses to go away, in the name of Jesus, it has exhausted its validity period
  • Satan, we are here as light, you have no power over this territory - pray for your country.

Luke 15:17 - 22

You never get it wrong coming to Jesus. It doesn't matter how down cast wounded, broken, rejected or failure you feel you are or have been told you are, allow me the honour as a last function to give you the function to make it right with Jesus.

Say this and mean it in your heartLord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died for my sin, rose again for my justification. Right now I receive Your life into my hear as my Savior, my Lord and my King. I declare that the Power of sin, Satan, hell, grave is broken over my life. From now, I am child of God, I go forward ever and backward never.

Inspiring Quote

Sermon

"One symptom of backsliding is that you begin to look down on the simple things that keep you on fire, calling a devotional 'just milk.' It's not about the information, it's about the consistency."
