The devil is bold

The devil was trying to get Jesus to doubt his identity, to begin to wonder who he is

How can you be talking to the King of kings, Lord of lords, and then be telling him "I will give you power"?

Luke 4:7

The devil was trying to get Jesus to worship him. Devil is bold. He's audacious

Confront the enemy with the word

Luke 4:8

After telling him to get behind him, what did Jesus say immediately? "It is written"

Some people say "I bind you, you have no power, you are powerless." After you say that, bring the scripture that backs it up

The devil is senior to you. He has been here for generations before you showed up. You cannot talk to him anyhow

Even the heavenly beings are careful. They don't bring a revilement against the devil. They say "The Lord rebuke you" Jude 1:9

So don't just open your mouth. Bring the scripture that proves it, otherwise he will deal with you. There are rules and authorities

Once you quote scripture, every argument of Satan dies. Every tactic loses its power and its attraction

If you want to confront the enemy, confront him with the word. Jesus said "It is written"

Deuteronomy 6:13

Serve him with absolute single-heartedness

I want to challenge you. Are you serving the Lord with absolute single-heartedness? Or you have options. "This one doesn't work, let me try this, then I can come back to the Lord"

Him alone shall you worship. Are you worshipping your money? Your connections? Your educational qualifications? Your beauty? Your wardrobe? "I'm the power dresser, everything has to be designer"

Serve the Lord with absolute single-heartedness

A student who got pregnant and is scared to tell her mom

First, may the Lord help you to forgive yourself. Second, may the Lord pave the way for you. If your mother is going to be a support for you, please tell her

• Father Lord, we pray for this person. I pray for your courage to come upon her. Give her courage to own her mistake, courage to bear this child.
• Give her the courage, O God, to turn away from shame and the fear of the tongues of men. Help her not to abort this baby.
• We pray for her mother. Let the mother's heart overshadow the disappointment and the pain of the mistake her daughter has made.
• Let her rise up and support her daughter, in the name of Jesus.

Enjoy your baby, because God allowed that baby to be conceived in your womb. You made a mistake, but the child is not a mistake. God is the one who gives the spark of life

If you are ovulating, you release an egg, and you have sex, you will conceive. This is the order of God. He's not going to reverse his order because you are choosing wrong

The devil will keep attacking your identity

Once the Bible comes up, Satan's power breaks. He shifted to another area. He brought Jesus to the pinnacle of the temple Luke 4:9

Go back to the first temptation Luke 4:3. He's telling Jesus, question your identity. What God has said to you cannot be true, you better question it

Third temptation, he comes back again with the same words

The devil will keep attacking your identity

He already knows it's true, but he's checking if you know it is true. If you don't know it, he's going to mess it up

Somebody will dare you: if you are really a Christian, do this, do that. You don't have to answer

You don't have to do what they are saying. They don't have the power. What are you trying to prove?

The devil quotes scripture

The devil turned and started quoting scripture to Jesus. He was quoting the word to the Word John 1:1

"I am the Word. You are quoting me to me. You are trying to teach me." Devil is bold

Even when you are using the word of God, go back to God and say, "Interpret this scripture to me at this time."

The interpretation of that word at this time may not be the interpretation for your situation at another time

The devil himself knows and trembles. He knows the word James 2:19

He says "It is written" Luke 4:10, Psalm 91:11

He didn't quote the whole scripture

Isn't it that he has you in the care of angels to protect you? They will catch you so much as stub your foot or your toe on a stone

This is how the devil can make you use scripture to justify evil and sin

You are tempted to have sex with somebody you're not married to. Your body is pulling you and the Holy Spirit is saying get up and leave. Flee

You now start quoting the scripture about the spirit being willing and the flesh being weak Matthew 26:41

That's how you use scripture to fool yourself and put yourself in trouble

It did not say the body must fall. Tell the spirit to become stronger. Let the willingness of the spirit overcome the weakness of the flesh

The devil said to the Word, "I want you to violate yourself if you are the Son of God."

If Jesus had tried to prove he is the Son of God, he would have obeyed the devil

Never live your life trying to prove a point to anybody. It is not worth it

Don't underestimate the devil. Don't fear him, but don't be careless with him

Resisting the devil

Luke 4:12

Jesus came back with "It is also written" Deuteronomy 6:16

You have to become that good with the word

Why does resisting seem difficult? Because you are resisting. If you resist and it's easy, then you are not resisting, you are just falling through

Resisting means something is fighting an equal and opposite force until you insist and then you break through

You have to subdue the enemy

Let's not just quote scriptures, let the word work in us, because the devil also knows scripture

The devil leaves for a season

Luke 4:13

The devil knew: anywhere I turn, this person is blocking me. I cannot finish him

You have to wear the devil down till he gives up

The devil leaves you alone, but he's coming back

What the devil does after he has tempted you is to disappear for a season, waiting for your next weak moment

He comes to steal, to kill and to destroy John 10:10

He's roaming around like a roaring lion looking for whom to devour 1 Peter 5:8

That's why the Bible says be sober and be vigilant. Be sober. Be vigilant

Get into the word

This is why it's so important to get into the word of God

If you don't understand King James, find The Message, the Amplified, the Living Bible. The Living Bible, I think it was a man interpreting the Bible for his children, so the language is very basic

Get into the word of God. There's so much power in it

The devil comes to steal my peace, my joy, my happiness, my stability, my finances. Once I see things happening, I know it's the devil. "You ain't going to get me"

After we say "It is written," there is no fear in telling the devil "Get thee behind me, Satan," because what covers and protects us is the word of God

Look out for the enemy when he's trying to annoy you or mess with your calculations. Say it in your heart: "Get thee behind me, Satan." Please don't say it to the person

How much time do I need in the word to break addiction? Stay in the word till you break it. After you break it, remain in the word to maintain it

Is the Bible the word of God?

Pray and say to the God of the Bible, "If you are God and the Bible is your word, show me. Prove it to me."

God is in a hurry to prove himself real to you

Go read the Bible for yourself and tell God, "If you are truly God, reveal yourself to me."

He is that personal. He will listen to you. You are not too small for him to answer

Stay in the word. Every time the enemy comes at you, tell him "It is written." Once you bring up the word, every argument of Satan dies
