The First Time There Was Light

Genesis 1:1-5 records what happened the very first time there was light. Several things happened that night, and those same things are available now.

The Spirit of God Moved

The first thing that happened was that the spirit of God moved. When the spirit of God moves, power comes down.

Acts 1:8 says you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. In Acts 2:1-4, when the disciples were gathered together, there was a sound like a mighty rushing wind and power came down.

When the spirit of God moves, anyone who tries to terminate your destiny will be terminated. In Judges 14:5-6, Samson was destined for greatness. As he walked, a young lion roared at him. The spirit of God moved and Samson tore the lion in two. Whatever has come to stop your destiny, the spirit of God is moving against it.

In Exodus 14:21-28, when the children of Israel were on their way to the promised land and the enemy was pursuing from behind, the spirit of God moved across the Red Sea. The sea parted. The children walked through. The enemy followed and drowned. Where there was no way, a way opened.

God Spoke

The second thing that happened was that God spoke. When the spirit of God moves, God speaks. And when God speaks, Psalm 107:20 says he sends his word and heals and delivers from destructions.

God never says "maybe this will be." When he says let there be light, there is light. He speaks in decrees. And right now, someone is getting healed and delivered as that word goes forth.

Isaiah 55:10-11 says the word that proceeds out of his mouth will not return void. It will accomplish what he pleases and prosper where he sends it.

Confusion Ends

The third thing that happened was that confusion ended. Before God spoke, the earth was without form. It was confused and disordered. After God spoke, confusion ended.

In Mark 4:35-41, there was a storm at sea. A storm is total confusion. Jesus got up, spoke a word, and immediately everything became calm. Peace be still.

A storm on a cruise ship once lifted a massive vessel two stories and dropped it. Everything was chaos. Knives became like bullets flying. The captain announced it was a category 10 storm. In a room alone with God, the word came: "When you were young and there was a storm, what was I doing? I was sleeping. Sleep." The believer who sleeps in the storm trusts the one who stilled the storm.

Curses Break

When God separated the light from the darkness, he set a permanent division. This speaks to generational bondage.

A man came trembling, 39 years old, about to turn 40. He said every man in his family died when they reached 40. The answer was simple: "I know someone who can cancel that curse." The curse was broken in the name of Jesus. That man is now over 60 and alive.

I do not know how long a curse in your family has been disturbing your progress. But it is over.

What Is Good Comes

When God saw the light, he said it was good. Everything about darkness is bad. Everything about light is good.

Poverty is bad. Wealth is good. Barrenness is bad. Fruitfulness is good. Failure is bad. Success is good. The opposite of very bad is very good. God wants to turn your very bad situation into something very good.

But there is a door. Jesus said in Revelation 3:20 that he stands at the door and knocks. If anyone hears his voice and opens the door, he will come in. It does not matter how brightly the sun shines outside. If you have all the curtains closed and the switch off, you will be in darkness. You have to open the door for light to come in.

Everything said here can happen in your life. Every confusion can end. Every curse can break. Every empty womb can be filled. Every stagnation can give way to acceleration. But first, open the door to Jesus.

Almighty God, in the name that's above every other name, let your light shine into the darkness of every life here. Terminate every terminator. End every confusion. Break every generational curse. Let the word you have sent tonight accomplish what you have sent it to accomplish. Let someone never weep again from this night forward. In Jesus' mighty name, amen.

Your level is changing. Those who have written you off will come and celebrate with you. Darkness is losing its hold over you now. The generational pattern is broken. Every force of darkness assigned against you has been terminated. You will not die poor. Your very bad is becoming very good.
