What Words Really Are

Communication is one of the clearest evidences of life. Of all the channels available to man - gestures, eye contact, tone - words are the most precise and potent

A word is a single unit of speech or a combination of sounds that carries meaning

Spiritually, words are vehicles carrying the nature, the intent, the energy and the life of the one speaking

Words are spiritual forces. They are alive

Words are spiritual building blocks. What a block is to a builder, words are to your destiny. Everything seen was framed by what is not seen, through the word

   After God delivered Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego from the fire, Nebuchadnezzar issued a decree, not a suggestion. A king exercises dominion through his decree, not his wish

   4 word-dependent practices: study, meditation, confession, praying in the spirit

   Confession is reaffirming to yourself what the word already says about you, until it becomes a stronghold of thought that produces victory thinking. Self-image must be edited according to what the word says, not according to family history or what people have spoken - what was true before Christ belongs to yesterday's information

   • I am the head and not the tail
   • I am a child of God
   • The wisdom of God is at work in my life

3. 3. Deploy words to enforce victory over the devil and demonic forces

   James 4:7, Ephesians 6:10-13

   Speaking to God is fellowship. Speaking to Satan is enforcement, not fellowship - you don't discuss with him, you command him

   Satan is a stubborn, determined spirit. He does not leave simply because scripture says you are victorious - the victory must be actively enforced

   Prayer and fasting does not drive Satan away. It builds your capacity to enforce what Christ has already finished

4. 4. Deploy words to frame and create your reality

   Genesis 1:1-3

   Made in God's image, believers function as co-creators, able to place faith-filled, word-based declarations over their future

   Your tomorrow has no right to look like today, and today has no right to look like yesterday, until your words initiate the change. Waiting or merely wishing for it does not itself produce it

5. 5. Use words in conversation so they bring profit to your destiny

   Proverbs 15:1, Ephesians 4:29

   Many believers know how to talk to God and to the devil, but never learn how to talk to men - this alone has stalled careers, marriages and ministries

   • Honor - always communicate respect, as a lifestyle toward peers and subordinates, not only superiors
   • Clarity of thought - be coherent, avoid rambling. Time is limited and people won't wait for you to gather yourself
   • Expression - your countenance should match your words. A "thank you" said with a joyless face undercuts itself

   Genesis 41 It was not only Joseph's interpretation of the dream but his manner of speaking that secured his position with Pharaoh
