20 Years of Omega Bible University

Today we celebrate two decades of academic excellence and transformational impact, made possible through the vision and commitment of the founder and director of Omega Bible University.

The journey started precisely on June 6th — exactly 20 years ago. The word of God says, "Though your beginning be small, your latter end should greatly increase" (Job 8:7). And "Who has despised the days of small beginning?" (Zechariah 4:10). In the beginning, there were fewer than 20 students. But today, by the grace of God, this institution has moved from diploma to bachelor's degree, has convocated master's degree students, and is this month resuming its doctorate class — with the vision of convocating its first set of PhD holders. The institution is registered, affiliated, and accredited internationally; its certificates are not just local, they are globally recognized.

What It Means to Be an Alumni

An alumni is not just someone who passed through a system. In 1 Samuel 25:15, the men of David said, "While we were with these people, we were not hurt. We did not miss anything, and they were good to us as long as we were with them." An alumni is a family. An alumni has the burden, the pursuit, to see the organization reach its zenith.

An alumni can come together and build. An alumni can come together and support. Being an alumni means you are now a stakeholder. This is not just the president's vision — it is now your vision. There are alumni that take a vision to places the vision would not have naturally reached on its own. An alumni runs further with a vision.

Alumni are like a board of trustees: this is our counsel, this is our advice, this is our vision. You are not just conscripted into a system to be passive. You are watching; you cannot be in the system and see things go wrong without speaking life to it. Whatever is going wrong, it is your duty to speak life, to bring ideas into reality.

You are now a stakeholder. You cannot sit down and see things go south. You must bring your counsel aboard.

You are also not just alumni of a regional vision — you are alumni of a global vision. America, London, Europe — OBU graduates are all over the world.

And for current students: when you pass out, you join this family. The alumni have the right to raise a protest if you leave the system and become unruly. They have a right to petition the body to recall your certificate. There are conditions in your certificate; when violated, what was given to you can be invalidated.

Fatherly Counsel to Leadership

Reserve your energy for necessary enemies. Stop wasting energy on fights that have no trophy. If you want to fight, make sure you see what you stand to gain. The Bible says let every man abide in the calling wherein he is called (1 Corinthians 7:20). Very important. Know your assignment. Know your assignment.

Every vision is given at a raw state. The beauty of a vision is dependent on the visioner — the visionaire. It is not dependent on God alone. God cannot support the unwilling. God cannot assist the unbroken.
