Apostle Michael Orokpo Preaching - Justification for Healing
Sermon

lightbulb Message Summary - Key Nuggets

  • Sickness did not have legal jurisdiction over humanity until the fall — and Christ's redemption has legally reversed that entry.
  • Man was created to live in the realm of glory — to model God's existence — not to suffer sickness and death.
  • Understanding the basis of healing equips you to receive it with conviction and authority.

Sickness Has No Original Jurisdiction

Sickness does not just happen. Sickness did not have the right and the jurisdiction to invade the human race. It was not permitted when Adam was in the garden. There has to be a legal premise for the allowance of sickness to be able to attach itself to a human person.

A man was not created to be sick. A man was created to live in the realm of glory. And glory in this context means living exactly like God.

Genesis 1:26 — God said: "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion." He was created to function in the realm of dominion. And that realm of dominion is the realm of glory — because dominion does not begin with what you can do. Dominion begins with who you are. First you become; then you manifest. If a man does not become, he cannot manifest.

The Fall from Glory

Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." He did not say they lost capacity for manifestation. He said they fell from glory. The moment the man was denatured by sin, he lost his being — and with the loss of being came the loss of manifestation.

Things that don't happen to God began to happen to the man when he fell. Sickness entered. Death entered. Fear entered. Confusion entered. These were foreign to the original design. The man was created to mirror God — and God does not get sick, does not die, does not live in fear or confusion.

2 Peter 1:3: "According as His divine power has given unto us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of Him that called us to glory and virtue." The calling is back to glory. The call of God upon a man's life is always a call back to the original design — to live like God.

The Legal Basis for Sickness and Its Reversal

Sin was the legal premise that gave sickness its entry. When sin entered through Adam, the covenant of dominion was broken, and the authority of darkness gained legal access.

But Christ came to reverse that legal access at the cross.

Isaiah 53:4–5: "Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed."

The atonement was comprehensive. Jesus did not just die for sin as a spiritual category. He bore griefs — sicknesses. He carried sorrows — pains. The healing of the body was purchased at Calvary alongside the forgiveness of sin. Healing is not a secondary benefit of salvation — it is part of the full redemption package.

1 Peter 2:24: "Who His own self bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness — by whose stripes ye were healed." Note the past tense: were healed. The work is done. The legal basis for sickness has been reversed. The question is not whether God can heal — it is whether the person will take their legal position in Christ.

You Have Been Called Back to Glory

2 Peter 1:4: "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises, that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."

Partaking of the divine nature means re-entering the original design. It means the things that happen to the fallen nature — sickness, weakness, deterioration — no longer have legal authority over the one who is in Christ and knows it.

  • At salvation, the spirit is regenerated — restored to its original design.
  • The soul is being transformed — brought into alignment with the spirit.
  • The body is being glorified — heading toward full redemption at the resurrection.

But even now, the blood of Jesus has legally revoked the right of sickness to hold any ground in the body of a believer. When the blood works, people can no longer be enslaved by Satan — because Satan cannot hold power over a life from which sin has been removed.

Receiving Healing by Faith

Knowing the justification for healing is not merely theological information — it is the foundation of faith for healing. When you understand that:

  • You were not created to be sick
  • Sin gave sickness legal access
  • Christ's atonement legally reversed that access
  • You are now called to glory — to live like God

Then faith for healing is not a stretch. It is simply taking the legal position that the blood of Jesus has already secured for you.

The justification for your healing is in the Word. It is in the cross. It is in the resurrection. Take your place — and receive what Christ has already paid for.

Sermon

"One symptom of backsliding is that you begin to look down on the simple things that keep you on fire, calling a devotional 'just milk.' It's not about the information, it's about the consistency."
