Characteristics of the Life of God — Part 2

Genesis 1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him. Male and female created he them. And God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

Genesis 2:7: And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.

Our objective is understanding the characteristics of the life of God that we are designed to manifest.

It is a great privilege to be made a partaker of the life of God. We are partakers of the life of God through at least four channels:

1. Through Creation

   God made man in his image, after his likeness, and he breathed into man the breath of life and man became a living soul. So we are partakers of the life of God because we are created in the image of God — by virtue of creation.

2. Through Redemption

   Jesus Christ died and brought us the life of God. 1 John 4:4: "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them because greater is he that is in you than he that is of the world." You are born of God. You carry the life of God. John 3:6-8: That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Everyone that is born of the Spirit carries the life of God.

3. Through the Word of God

   Ezekiel 2:2: And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me. John 6:63: The Spirit quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing. The words I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. So through the word of God spoken to us, we connect the life of God. Philippians 2:16: holding forth the word of life. So the word of God is the word of life.

4. Through the Spirit of God

   The spirit of God is the spirit of life. Romans 8:11: But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Job 27:3: All the while my breath is in me and the spirit of God is in my nostrils. The breath of God gives us life. 2 Corinthians 3:6: The letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. Revelation 11:11: After three days and a half, the spirit of life from God entered into them and they stood up on their feet.

If God created you, you have the life of God. If you are born again, you have the life of God. If you are connected to the word of God, you are connected to the life of God. If you are connected to the Spirit of God, you are connected to the spirit of life.

We started looking at the characteristics of the life of God last time.

• Number one: Spirituality — the life of God is spiritual. It gives you passion for the spiritual. Your interest is more for spiritual things than for natural things.
• Number two: Supernaturality — the life of God is supernatural. It ushers you into the realms of signs and wonders.
• Number three: Vitality — the life of God gives you energy, strength, ability.
• Number four: Liberty — where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. God cannot be bound, and everyone who is connected to God cannot be bound. Every ancestral curse and generational curse that followed you here this morning — I declare they are dismantled now.

Number Five: Durability

The life of God is a durable life. Our God is the God of endless life. In fact, he is life itself.

Psalm 41:13: Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting and to everlasting.

Psalm 90:2: Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hast formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God — from the dateless past, the past that has no date, into the future that cannot be timed.

John 10:10: The thief cometh not but for to kill, to steal, to destroy. But I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly. That is Zoe. That they might have durable life and have it perpetually.

John 14:6: Jesus said, "I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me." He is life itself.

The Holy Spirit is the spirit of life. 2 Corinthians 3:6. Revelation 11:11 — the spirit of life from God entered into the two witnesses and they stood up on their feet. The spirit of God is the spirit of life.

As children of the durable God, as children of the everlasting God, we have been designed to be saturated with life. Our lives are meant to be saturated with life.

Two things you must understand: God made you, and God put inside you his life. So you are durable twice.

How do you know whether a product can last? Find out who made it. The manufacturer's integrity affects the durability of the product. The manufacturer's capability determines what the product can sustain.

There are places where they understand what it means to make something that can last, something with the signature of quality. There is a place that says any product that lasts too long is not profitable — that the product should be made to spoil so that people can keep buying.

The God we serve does not know how to make fake. He does not know how to manufacture what does not last. He manufactures products that are durable and beyond that he puts his life inside it.

So you are both made by God and also carry the life of God inside you. No mortal man with breath in his own nose is permitted to take your breath.

I have been produced to last. I have been manufactured to last. I have been created by a high quality manufacturer to last for long.

You should be satisfied with life before you exit. Like village children — when you give them food, "Are you full yet?" He will keep eating. Do you need more years? At 30, are you full yet? At 40? At 50? Long life is meant to happen to your satisfaction. No conspiracy of forces is permitted to exit you when you are not yet satisfied.

Job 5:26: Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season. The Living Bible reads: You shall live a long good life like standing grain. I will not be harvested until it is time.

I shall live a long good life like standing grain. I will not be harvested until it is time. Killer is not permitted to harvest you. Generational curse is not permitted to harvest you.

As he thinks in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7. Declare thou that thou mayest be justified.

Jesus Died Young So You Can Live Long

Hebrews 2:9: We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour, that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

He died young — 33. So you can live long. The death that should have died you before your time — he died that death.

Hebrews 2:14-15: For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same, that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil, and deliver them who through the fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Jesus rose from the dead to deliver the captives from the fear of premature death.

Lawyers talk about the law of double jeopardy — where nobody is punished twice for the same offense. Whatever is the reason why you should have died — somebody died it. You can't die the death that somebody already died.

The death that should die you — he died it. The kind of death he died was young. He died tragic. He died brutal. He died painful. You are excused from all of that.

Why will your story not be the same as those around you? Because you have revelation that others don't have. Nothing brings liberation like revelation.

The devil is showing you the picture of himself, saying it's you — and you agreed. The devil showed you something and said it was you. Don't agree.

How to Apply This Truth

1. Avoid the Thought and Fear of Death

   The fear of death puts people in bondage. Hebrews 2:15: Through the fear of death, they were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Job said in Job 3:25: "For the things I feared have come upon me, that which I was afraid of came to pass." Your thought determines your reality. Use the word you have heard to charge your mind, charge your faith, charge your understanding, so that you are not a victim of the spirit and the fear of death.

2. Avoid the Life of Sin to Fulfil Your Days

   Ezekiel 18:4: Behold, all souls are mine. The soul that sinneth, he shall die. Ezekiel 18:20: The soul that sinneth, he shall die. Sin is a door to premature death. Avoid it to fulfil your days.

From this moment forward, every fear of premature death is broken in the name of Jesus. Every fear of dying before your time or dying as others have died in your family — every fear of death is broken in the name of Jesus. I decree right now, everyone under the bondage of a terminal disease, a diagnosis, or a threat from the pit of hell — in the dimension of durability, you are free.

Father, we receive the truth of durability today. We are wired to last. We are made by you and carry your life. Let this word gain entrance and inoculate our faith. Let every fear of premature death be broken now. We shall live a long good life like standing grain. In Jesus' name, Amen.
