Genesis 18 and the sequence for your season

Genesis 18:1-18

  • I love the word of God
  • It is a compass for my living
  • As I hear the word, as I declare the word, great and mighty things happen in my life
  • It is your time and your turn

God was intentional about letting Abraham know that a season was about to break forth on his life

It would be the season where he births something that has not been birthed

After a long while of a promise given, there was about to be a manifestation of that promise

There seems to be a sequence of events, not structured as it were, but the deeper you look the more you see it

It is a sequence through which men who desire to see their seasons become their reality

  1. Revelation

There appeared unto Abraham three men. Abraham saw. That is revelation

  2. Men

Abraham was already a carrier of promise. But the activators, those who would push that promise to become a reality, the Bible first described as men

We understand these were heavenly beings, but the Bible described them as men

There is a place for revelation. There is yet another place for men

  3. Urgency in destiny

A 99-year-old Abraham saw them and ran. 99 years old but still running

99 years old, 30 years of being born again, but there is still a freshness of God's presence. I have not gotten used to God

Abraham knew that when my season comes, I must live with a certain kind of urgency

Why are you walking away? I am not done with the conversation. You wasted my last three hours and you want to waste it again? I am living with a certain kind of urgency

I felt a foul presence in my house, a foul presence from the dream, and the devil is telling you to do nothing about it. I am living with a certain kind of urgency

I will start praying, I will start declaring, because it is my time and my turn

Some say, "Are you sure you are not overdoing it?" Go through the scripture. Men who were distinguished were men who overdid it

When your season comes, pray like there is an emergency

God brought Abraham into the conversation of nations

Genesis 18:17-18

God was about to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah and He said, "Shall I not tell Abraham?"

God's reason: Abraham shall surely become a great nation. He had not yet become one, but God introduced him to the conversation about nations

There are seasons God will bring you into some conversations. It was not just a conversation. It was God letting you see your future

There are rooms God will allow you to walk into. There are people God will allow you to sit and talk to. It is not random

It is your future calling your name. It is God saying you can become this thing

Why is God letting me see miracles? Because He knows I can walk in them. Why did God allow me to be in this place? God is showing me my future

What a God who relates with us not by our becoming but by what He thinks we will become

What you heard is a sign you can become it. What you can break into, He introduced you to. That is a sign

God says: I will introduce him to it. I will let him have an opinion. I will tell him what I plan to do

Abraham will say, "Sir, wait a little. Let me see if I can contribute"

Your opportunities and your exposures did not just come like that

I came to call forth

Daniel 11:32

2 Corinthians 3:18

Do not just enjoy the moment. Do not just feel privileged. You can become it

I can become it

  • A wise and discerning man. I can become it
  • The one God will use to fund the gospel. I can become it
  • The one the Lord has placed honor, prestige and wealth upon. I can become it
  • The one the builders rejected. I can become it
  • The one the God of the 11th hour showed up for. I can become it

Psalm 118:22

Every time you see a testimony, do not just get wowed. Point to it and say, I can become it

There is a becoming atmosphere

Abraham redefined favor

Abraham said three words to these divine beings. If I have found favor in your sight

  1. Favor

If you ask what favor is, you will quickly say the favor of God is what God does for you. Abraham redefined favor

In a generation that says favor is what God gives you, Abraham said, allow me to tell you what favor means to me

Favor is what I do for God. If I have found favor, please let me serve this way

It is favor to serve. It is favor to be there for God. It is favor to listen to the heartbeat of God

Every opportunity to hold the microphone, what a favor. Every opportunity to call you royal, what a favor. Every reminder of how redeemed I am, what a favor

What a favor that You did not let me die in sin. What a favor that You caused me to know You this way

What a favor that You did not let the plan of the enemy take me far away from You

  2. Rest

Abraham said, come into my house and rest. Our bodies are the temples of the Holy Ghost 1 Corinthians 6:19

Lord, if there is anything I want, I want You to rest here

You go to some places and cannot stay because it is dirty, not clean, not good looking. The next thing you want is to stand up and leave

Abraham said, if I have found favor, I want You to come to my house and rest

Jesus, will You rest in my heart with everything that goes on in my heart? Will You really rest there?

  3. Comfort

Abraham knew they were eternal beings and said, I want to comfort your hearts

There were many times God's heart was broken Genesis 6:6

Abraham said, can I be that person? No matter what breaks Your heart, when You see me, Your heart can be comforted

I may not be perfect. I may not have it all together. But I am ready to be a true soldier and die at my post

Beyond the glee and glamour, my heart is desperate to please You

If something breaks Your heart and You find me in service, in truth and in spirit, can it comfort Your heart?

A mortal man telling an eternal being that He can rest here, that His heart can be comforted

The sincerity of our heart, not the perfection of it, can comfort the heart of God

The heat that brings alignment

Abraham came out to behold these men because there was heat

As a child, when generators were not around, we would come outside with our parents to take fresh air and let the breeze blow on us

Abraham came out because of the heat, and he saw destiny. He saw a new season

There are times God wants to align you. The first thing He brings is heat

Some say, God, I will break under this heat. But this heat, God is using it to work out His glory, His power and His strength in your life and in your family

This heat will work out His power. This heat will work out His glory. This heat will work out His strength

Sarah and the veil

Genesis 18:9-15

God asked Abraham, where is Sarah your wife? Sarah was behind the tent door and overheard

Sarah worked hard, but she did not encounter them. Revelations were revealed, but there was no direct encounter

There is an encounter you will have

Lord, I do not want to work hard in the tent and not see God. I want to encounter You

I know why Sarah laughed. She was working hard, but there was still a veil

  • Every veil that has come to stop, to cover, to obstruct your new season, let it be broken right now
  • Let them be broken in the name of Jesus

When it is your time and your turn, every single thing will work for your good

Congratulations. It is finally your time and your turn. I decree it is done in the name of Jesus

Inspiring Quote

Sermon

"One symptom of backsliding is that you begin to look down on the simple things that keep you on fire, calling a devotional 'just milk.' It's not about the information, it's about the consistency."

- Apostle Emmanuel Iren
