Anointed in Verse One — Hiding in Verse 22

1 Samuel 10:1: Samuel took a vial of oil, poured it upon Saul's head, and said: "Is it not because the Lord has anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?" He was anointed in verse one. By verse 22, when the public announcement was about to be made, the Lord had to tell them where he was: "Behold, he has hidden himself among the baggage."

The problem is not that the opportunity is absent. The opportunity is here. But the anointed is hiding.

When the devil wants to hide the anointed, the first thing he brings is the past. Have you forgotten what you did? Have you forgotten your failure? This is why Paul said: "I forget the things which are behind. I press forward to the mark of the high calling."

There is a calling on your life. It might not be a microphone assignment. It might be an assignment for the marketplace, for your industry, for the Lord to use you to do what has never been done. But the anointed is hiding.

If you keep hiding, some people's chains will not be broken. If you keep hiding, your family needs your voice. You have prayed for years. You are on the brink of a new season. Something is about to erupt. The devil wants you to hide. Come to the wrong address — kingdom of hell, we will not hide.

Find Your Tribe

God told Saul: when you get to the garrison of the Philistines, you will see a band of prophets. When they begin to prophesy, join them. When you meet the goers — join them. When you meet the zealous and the passionate — join them. Not everybody will speak fluently the language of your future. There are people who understand the language of your past, but only a few who understand the language of your future. Find your tribe.

When stones were thrown at Apostle Paul and they thought him dead and drew him out of the city — the brethren gathered around him. They formed a circle. He miraculously stood up and went back into the city. What they carry, if the fullness of it comes out, will shake nations. The tribe came and surrounded him.

Beware of People

In 1 Samuel 13, Saul made a mistake. When asked why, he said: "The people." In 1 Samuel 15, he made another mistake. When asked, he said again: "The people." Twice, people caused the loss of a generational legacy.

Jeremiah 1:5: "Before I formed thee, I knew thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." The matter of your destiny was concluded before you showed up before men. Your ordination was not by men — and so people should not dictate it.

When people become more important than God's instructions, when they cause you to abandon prayer, when their opinions become louder than God's voice — beware of the people. Some of the people you are worried about — their chapter in your life has expired. When a person's season in your life expires and you drag them along, they become poison.

Disobedience Opens Demonic Doors

The evil spirit from God did not enter Saul until he created an atmosphere of disobedience. A born-again believer cannot be possessed — but a believer's disobedience opens the door for the enemy to hurt your family, your career, your health. He that breaketh the hedge — the serpent will bite.

Disobedience is like demonic fragrance. It attracts things that should never have entered your life. Then you pray against the very things you opened the door for. Before warfare prayer, ask yourself: is there any area where I am living in disobedience?

1 Samuel 15:17: "When thou wast little in thine own eyes, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel? And the Lord anointed thee king over Israel." The anointer is looking for people who are small in their own eyes — lest they claim they anointed themselves. There are levels of God's manifestation you have not seen because your heart is not in the right posture.
