Sermon

lightbulb Message Summary - Key Nuggets

  • Before God gives a man things, He first makes the man — because what you can have is limited by what you have become.
  • We were created to live at the level of the glory of God, and Christ restores us to that original design.
  • The glorified man is a being of divine nature, called to express the God-life in every dimension of existence.

God Makes Before He Gives

Sometimes we thank God for what He has given us — and that is beautiful. But what He has given you in material terms is nothing compared to what He has made you. Because what He has made you is what controls what He has given you.

You cannot have what you don't have the DNA to manage. Every time God wants to give you something, He first makes you.

Genesis 1:26: God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness — and let them have dominion." Being came before having. He made man in His image first. Then He authorized dominion.

Jesus saw the fishermen. He could not give them anything yet. He said: "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." When God is done making you, then God can give you things. The reason many cannot have more from God is that they have not yet been made. Formation precedes function. Making precedes giving.

The Original Design: Living in the Realm of Glory

Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." This is not just a statement about guilt. It is a statement about trajectory. We were created to live in the realm of the glory of God. The fall did not just make us sinners — it knocked us out of the realm of our original design.

Before the fall, sickness could not touch man. Death was foreign. Fear was unknown. Because these things do not exist in God — and man was created in the image of God.

Anybody who has not met Christ is still a fallen being, still operating below the glory. They are permitted to say, "I'm only human." But if you have met Jesus and glory has been restored, it is an error to declare you are only human. You are not only human. There is a divine element in you. 2 Peter 1:3–4: "He has called us to glory and virtue. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises, that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature."

What the Glorified Man Carries

  • The divine nature — Not just divine assistance, but divine nature. The same nature that is in God has been made accessible to the redeemed through the exceeding great and precious promises.
  • All things pertaining to life and godliness2 Peter 1:3: everything you need to live as a glorified being has already been given. Not will be given. Already given — through the knowledge of Him who called you.
  • Escape from the world's corruption2 Peter 1:4: having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. The glorified man is not defined by the moral and spiritual environment of this fallen age. He carries a different DNA — the divine nature — that makes him immune to what corrupts the rest.
  • The image of ChristRomans 8:29: predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son. The destination of the glorified man is full conformity to Christ — spirit, soul, and body aligned with the nature of the glorified, risen Jesus.

The Resurrection: The Proof of the Glorified Man

The resurrection of Jesus is not merely a historical event. It is the template for what God has done to every believer.

Romans 6:4–5: "We are buried with Him by baptism into death, that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection."

The resurrection is not just something that happened to Jesus for our benefit. It is something that happened to us in Him. The glorified man is a resurrection man — living in the power of a life that cannot be permanently held by death, disease, defeat, or darkness.

Living as a Glorified Being

  • Stop identifying primarily with your weakness, your past, or your limitations.
  • Identify with your new nature — the divine nature deposited in you at new birth.
  • Express the God-life in every environment you enter: your home, your workplace, your ministry, your community.
  • Give all diligence to adding to your faith the virtues that make the glorified life visible (2 Peter 1:5–7).

You have been made — not just saved. You are a glorified being — not just a forgiven sinner. This is what God has done, and this is what He expects you to walk in. The glory is not coming — it is here. It is in you. Live from it.

Inspiring Quote

Sermon

"One symptom of backsliding is that you begin to look down on the simple things that keep you on fire, calling a devotional 'just milk.' It's not about the information, it's about the consistency."
