Vessels of New Wine — Who Qualifies?

I want you to consider what we are doing as a beginning. What we're going to do today is an introduction. We will return by the power of God to rescue and reclaim everything.

Who are these people who are vessels of new wine?

1. They Are People Passionate About the Presence of God

   The Bible says there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee and Jesus was invited. People who are passionate about the presence of God have a greater passion for God than what they have for food, what they have for gold, what they have for money.

   We live in a generation today where money has become people's god. Many things are stealing people's attention. But God is looking for people who are passionate about him.

2. They Are People Ready to Go with God on Life's Journey

   They involve God in the beginnings of their lives. It was the beginning of their marriage — the start of a life together as a couple. And they decided that Jesus had to be at the beginning of their wedding.

   Many start marriages without God, start businesses without God, start ministries and God is not involved. But the people who receive new wine are those who are willing to start with God. They involve God at the very beginning of their endeavors.

3. They Know God — Experientially

   Thirdly, when they needed wine, Mary came to Jesus and said, "Look, they have no more wine." Because Mary knew him. She knew her own ability.

   New wine belongs to those who know God. People who know God experientially. Not just those who know in theory, not people who know about the church, not people who know pastors, but people who know God.

The Qualifications for New Wine
