Recap: What We Established in Part One

In Complete Deliverance Part 1, the biblical basis for studying Satan, demons, and demonology was established. Three requirements must be met for any subject to qualify as doctrine: it must be captured in the Old Testament, in the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ, and in the life of the apostles and the early church. All three were satisfied with respect to the subject of Satan, evil, and deliverance — through the fall of man, the story of Job, Israel's captivity in Egypt, the temptation and ministry of Jesus, and the work of Philip, Paul, Peter, and John in the early church.

The origin of Satan was also examined — his name Lucifer meaning the lightbearer, the three foundational scriptures from Ezekiel 28, Isaiah 14, and Revelation 12, and the principle of prophetic parallels.

Most critically, the question was answered: what does Satan want? Based on scripture, there are two things Satan relentlessly pursues:

1. Dominion — the dominion God gave to man
2. Transgenerational allegiance — worship that passes from generation to generation

The reality of transgenerational allegiance is what gave birth to the structure of altars, curses, and patterns. Patterns are repetitive occurrences within a predefined bloodline — patterns of irresponsibility, anger, theft, untimely death — all Satan's invention toward one goal.

Everything negative that happens in a life — barrenness, poverty, sickness, violence, moral decadence — is not what Satan is ultimately after. Those things are only a means to an end. The end is that he will gain dominion and bring whole territories to submit to him perpetually.

This is the same principle used in terrorism: the captured loved one is not the target. The captor subjects the loved one to suffering and gives the victim an opportunity to hear their cry, knowing that emotional connection will produce compliance. Satan does the same — he causes the problem and waits at the other side of the pain to suggest an alternative. Because Christianity in the days of many grandparents was not complete in its gospel presentation — sincere, but without the spiritual intelligence to navigate legal access — many went to these dieties through mediums, entered covenants on behalf of whole territories, and gave Satan exactly what he wanted.

All Satan is looking for is dominion and transgenerational allegiance. Everything else is a means to that end.

And now:

The Structure and Operation of Satan

This is a kingdom that functions by light. Jesus never sent any disciple or apostle to do anything in missions without a thorough understanding of the structure and system of darkness. It is a risk to explore kingdom advancement in ignorance — especially ignorance of the devices of the devil.

The Satanic Kingdom Has a Structure

Revelation 12:7–9 — There was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought with his angels. They prevailed not, and there was no place found for them in heaven anymore.

Notice: the dragon fought with his angels. Satan did not act alone. Even while in heaven, there was already an organized structure of rebellion.

Matthew 25:41 — Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

Satan has subjects. Satan has an organized demonic system.

2 Peter 2:4 — God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness to be reserved unto judgment.

Satan did not sin alone — there were angels that sinned alongside him.

Matthew 12:26 — If Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand?

Jesus himself acknowledges that Satan has a kingdom, and that he intends for it to stand. The condition for its standing is unity.

Ephesians 1:21 — Far above principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world but also in that which is to come.

Paul is explaining our positional advantage in Christ — and in doing so, reveals that there is a structured demonic hierarchy.

Ephesians 6:11–12 — Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Paul is writing to people who are already saved. Being born again alone does not exempt a believer from these realities. The whole armor of God is required to stand against the wiles — the schemes, devices, and strategies — of the devil.

Paul's authority to reveal these things is grounded in Ephesians 3:3–5: by revelation God made known these mysteries, which were not made known to the sons of men in other ages as they are now revealed to the holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit.

You are not as powerful as your knowledge of spiritual things. You are as powerful as your knowledge of scripture. The simplicity of the knowledge of scripture is where the believer's authority comes from.

Defining the Satanic Kingdom

Satan alongside demons — what the Bible calls evil or unclean spirits — make up the satanic kingdom. When discussing the satanic kingdom, human vessels are not included in the definition. Every human vessel Satan walks through to execute his purposes is the same vessel intended to bring glory to God. Satan only took advantage of them because of ignorance and in compliance with the law of territory. Men were not created by Satan — they are God's creation.

The corporate assignment of the demonic kingdom is this: to fight and frustrate the purposes of God by any and all means.

In order of priority:

1. Plan A is to prevent every person on earth from coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ — John 17:3: this is eternal life, that they may know thee, the one true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent

2. If plan A fails and a person gives their life to Christ, the next assignment is to frustrate their efficiency — their growth and their service in the purposes of God

The key phrase in that assignment is any and all means. Sickness is part of the any-and-all-means agenda. Delay is part of it. Accidents, death, barrenness, financial destruction — if Satan can use it, he will use it. Anything at all that achieves the purpose of frustrating the purposes of God, he will deploy.

The Structure of the Demonic Kingdom

The demonic kingdom is structured according to three factors:

1. Geography — there are spirits that reside in specific geographic regions and honor territorial jurisdiction. The demons in Gadara said, "Cast us not out of this region."
2. Function — spirits are often named by their character: the spirit of infirmity, the lying spirit, the spirit of death, the spirit of divination. In administering deliverance, one of the scriptural methods is identifying spirits by their operation rather than requiring knowledge of a specific name. Jesus rebuked the "deaf and dumb spirit."
3. Ranking — there are ranks among demonic spirits, just as there are among angels. In Mark 5, a legion was present, but one spoke on behalf of all — indicating hierarchy. Jesus also taught that when a spirit leaves a man and returns, it brings seven others more wicked than itself — indicating classification and rank.

The Operational System of Satan

Ephesians 6:11 — Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Satan does not just attack randomly. There is a system, a game plan, a destruction plan.

2 Corinthians 2:11 — Lest Satan should gain an advantage of us, for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Activities of Satan and demons revealed in scripture:

• They fight — Revelation 12:7: there was war in heaven; Michael and his angels fought, and the dragon and his angels fought
• They hinder and resist — 1 Thessalonians 2:18: we would have come to you, even I Paul once and again, but Satan hindered us. A spirit can hinder breakthrough, hinder lifting, hinder anything coming for your advantage
• They steal, kill, and destroy — John 10:10: the thief cometh not but to steal, to kill, and to destroy. Matthew 13:19: when anyone hears the word of the kingdom and understands it not, the wicked one comes and catches away that which was sown in his heart. Satan can enter your heart — the same place a doctor needs a knife to open — and steal what was deposited there
• They lie — John 8:44: he was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it. That is his dialect — his native language
• They disguise — 2 Corinthians 11:14: Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. He uses the strategy of falsehood and disguise
• They deceive — 2 Corinthians 11:3: as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. Revelation 12:9: the great dragon, that old serpent called the devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world
• They accuse — Revelation 12:10: the accuser of the brethren, who accused them before God day and night

The Most Pronounced Strategy: Deception

Of all the strategies and operations of Satan, the most pronounced in scripture is deception.

What does it mean to deceive?

To deceive means to deliberately cause someone to believe something that is not true — usually for personal gain or to take advantage of the deceived.

What is deception/falsehood?

Deception is a statement or action that is intended to mislead, hide the truth, or promote a false belief or idea. It is often done for personal gain.

Deception cannot happen until the deceiver is aware of the truth.

The qualification to be a deceiver is that you must have access to the truth — because the assignment of the deceiver is to prevent the deceived from understanding or receiving that truth. So yes: Satan knows that Jesus is Lord. Satan knows that victory has been given to the saints. Satan knows that there is no other name under heaven by which men must be saved. Satan knows that Jesus holds the keys of life and death. Satan knows that Jesus gave believers authority over him. He does his ministry of deception so effectively precisely because he knows the truth — and that truth is the raw material for his deception.

Case Study: How Satan Operates — Genesis 3

2 Corinthians 11:3 — As the serpent beguiled Eve, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. Paul is saying: study what happened with Satan and Eve, because that is his master strategy — he will not change it.

1 Timothy 2:14 — And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Women fall because of deception. Men fall because of love. Satan understood this structure — he knew he would not easily deceive Adam, but he also knew that Adam's genuine love for the woman would cause him to follow her. He did not waste time on Adam. He went to Eve.

Genesis 3:1 — Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field. And he said unto the woman: Yea, hath God said...?

Lesson from Satan's opening statement:

The very first words out of Satan's mouth referenced God — and what God said. This is the raw material of deception: what God told you. Satan has no business coming to your life until God speaks. The moment God speaks, Satan says — now I have something to work with.

He did not lie outright. He twisted the truth. He said, "Ye shall not eat of every tree?" — a subtle misrepresentation that forced the woman to correct him, and in correcting him, she revealed exactly what God had said.

Verse 4: And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die.

Having obtained what God said, Satan's next move was to shake the foundation of her obedience. He said: God is insecure. There is something he is hiding from you. Trust me — when you eat this, your eyes will open and you will be like him.

Verse 6: When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired...

The fall did not begin with eating. Eating was the proof that she had already fallen. The fall was in perception — the moment she received what Satan said as reality. This was not an overnight conversation. Satan is patient and consistent. He does not come once and convince. He returned repeatedly until he had shifted her.

The strength of deception is not in the lie alone — it is in persistence, in using truth as a tool, and in making the deceived person perceive a false reality as true.

Notice what happened after they ate: Satan stopped talking. He had achieved his goal and left them with the consequences. The destruction now worked whether he was present or not — like a program he had installed.

Genesis 3:9 — The Lord called unto Adam: Where art thou?

God respected his own structure. He came to the man who held the seat of authority. Spiritually, there was a position God could see — a throne of dominion. And when God looked, the man was no longer there.

Who shifted you, Adam? Force was not used on you. That is the power of deception.

For as long as Adam and Eve did not cooperate with Satan, Satan was powerless. He was with them and could not touch them. The best he could do was speak. He had to depend on their seeing and their participating with his lies.

Lessons from Genesis 3:

1. Everything God tells you — whether by his voice or by his word — guard it carefully. Satan is coming to find out what God said, because what God said represents where God is taking you
2. Guard your ear gate and your eye gate. These are the principal channels through which Satan speaks. He does not always appear directly — he uses what you hear and what you see to access your mind
3. Faith towards anything comes by hearing the word of that thing. Faith towards destruction comes by hearing and receiving the word that makes for destruction, until it crystallizes. Satan is a master at using the word of God to shift you away from your zone of safety, your zone of power, your zone of defense

Three Levels of Satanic Influence Over Believers

There are three levels of satanic influence over human beings as revealed in scripture.

1. Witchcraft

   Galatians 3:1 — O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth?

   The Bible's definition of witchcraft is not drinking blood or gathering in a coven — those are extended expressions. According to Bible definition, witchcraft is anything that causes you to go out of alignment using the tool of deception.

   To cause you to think, to act, and to talk in error using the tool of deception — that is witchcraft.

   Ephesians 5:6 — Let no man deceive you with vain words, for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

   2 Peter 2:1–2 — There shall be false teachers among you who privily shall bring in damnable heresies... and many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

   Wherever there is witchcraft — by the biblical definition — there is deviation from truth and there is disobedience.

2. Manipulation and Control of the Mind

   This level operates principally in the realm of the soul — the will, emotions, and intellect.

   Matthew 16:22–23 — Peter took Jesus and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord, this shall not happen to thee. But Jesus turned and said unto Peter: Get thee behind me, Satan. Thou art an offense unto me, for thou savorest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

   Luke 22:31–32 — Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not; and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

   Peter had not lost his salvation. He had confessed Jesus as the Christ. And yet Satan manipulated his compassion to become a direct obstacle to the purposes of God. Peter did not know what had happened to him. That is the nature of this level — it can occur without the person's awareness.

   A Christian cannot be possessed. But a believer can absolutely be a victim of witchcraft and of manipulation and control at the soulical realm. Being born again alone is not the cure for these two levels. The cure is putting on the whole armor of God.

   Ephesians 4:18 — Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them because of the blindness of their heart.

   Salvation is not lost — but understanding can be darkened. That darkened understanding is the doorway for these two levels of influence.

3. Complete Possession

   This is complete influence and control of the spirit, mind, and body. This level applies to the unsaved.

   Mark 5:1–16 — The Gadarene demoniac. Key observations:

   • The man had his dwelling among the tombs — demons drive a person toward desolation and death
   • No man could bind him — unusual strength accompanied by total loss of self-control
   • Night and day he was in the mountains, crying and cutting himself with stones — the possessed person harms himself because his spirit, mind, and body are under total foreign control
   • When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and worshiped him — demons are intelligent; they recognize genuine authority immediately
   • The demons identified Jesus accurately: "Jesus, thou son of the most high God" — and pleaded that he not torment them
   • The demons' name was Legion, for they were many — multiple spirits can coexist within one vessel; the ranking within that legion meant one spokesman represented all
   • The demons begged not to be sent out of the region — territorial assignment governs their operation
   • The demons requested to enter the swine rather than be cast into the deep — revealing that bodies are scarce. With a whole region of human beings available, they chose pigs because gaining access to human bodies requires processes and rules of engagement. Satan does not simply enter any life. There are entry conditions, and even unsaved people are not automatically accessible
   • After the legion entered the swine, the herd of two thousand ran violently down the steep place — one man had been carrying the equivalent of two thousand sources of destruction
   • After deliverance, the man sat at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind — the spirits leaving was not the end; remaining with Jesus and sitting at his feet was restoring the man's mind. Deliverance has levels

What Then Is Deliverance?

Exodus 3:7–8 — I have surely seen the affliction of my people in Egypt... and I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land.

Deliverance has two movements: to take them out and to bring them in.

Colossians 1:13–14 — Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son; in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

There are two dimensions to the dealings of God and man: the prophetic dimension — what God has already established from his standpoint, speaking from a realm that is finished — and the experiential dimension — making what was spoken become manifest in time. Deliverance operates in both.

General definition: The word deliverance connotes rescue or freedom from bondage, danger, and evil. Deliverance also means salvation.

Precise definition:

Deliverance is the scriptural strategy for experientially establishing the victory and authority of Jesus Christ over Satan and demonic forces as it relates to the life and destiny of the believer.

Deliverance — and by extension spiritual warfare — for the believer in Christ is about establishing and manifesting victory rather than fighting for it.

2 Corinthians 2:14 — Thanks be unto God which causeth us to triumph in Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:57 — But thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

When it comes to deliverance, the concern is not fighting Satan, fighting demons, fighting curses, or fighting yokes. The concern is engaging the weapons of victory that have been given in Christ.

Three primary weapons:

• The power of the word
• The power of the blood
• The power of the name

These three do not all do the same thing — they each have specific operations that will be addressed in administering deliverance.

Access Points: How Satan Gains Legitimate Entry

As complicated as life's situations may appear — curses, yokes, altars, ancestry, foundations — there are only three biblical access points that give Satan legitimate access to the lives of men, including believers.

1. Covenants
2. Ignorance
3. Disobedience

Of the three, the most effective for Satan is covenants — because covenants have a transgenerational implication. No matter how long a situation has persisted, no matter how great or deep it appears — it is one, more, or all of these three access points at work.

Understanding Covenants

The idea of covenant was not invented by Satan. It was God's own intelligence to manage the emotional frailty of man. God gave man a will — and the fallen man by his design is frail, subject to emotional vacillations. If man is going to partner with God sustainably, there must be something that binds him that is greater than his emotions.

A covenant is a non-emotional binding. You cannot simply decide to change it.

Everything God takes seriously, he ties a covenant to:

• Marriage — because without a covenant, couples could leave by the next day
• Salvation — whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. It does not matter who that person is or what they have done. Because it is a covenant, the character of the individual cannot disqualify them from its terms

An altar is a system of authorization. An altar is the spiritual system that supervises compliance to covenants. There is no true covenant without an altar, and the altar is ratified with blood.

This is why even after the initiators of a dark covenant have long died, the spirits have legitimate access to the people within that region. After fifty or a hundred years, the spirits can make reference to the altar: "I am not an illegal occupant in this land. I was willfully invited. Your forefathers — and you were in the loins of your forefathers."

This is also why the sacrament of communion and the sacrament of baptism are covenant activities. This is how one enters Christ.

Exodus 12 — The condition for safety when the angel of death passed over Egypt was not personal righteousness. It was blood on the door. The angel did not see men — he was looking for the blood. Provided there was blood on the house, whoever was inside was covered. As far as the angel was concerned, the death that was required had already happened.

When Satan afflicts a life on legal basis — the basis of a covenant — you do not only cast. You engage the blood. There are rules of engagement.

Blood is currency in the realm of the spirit. Not all blood speaks the same thing or carries the same weight. The blood of Abel, the blood of bulls, the blood of goats — they could do something in the realm of the spirit. But the blood of Jesus speaks better things. It is the blood that speaks to the highest legal standard in the spirit.

The Three Witnesses on Earth

There are three witnesses in heaven — the Spirit, the Word, and the Father. And there are three witnesses on earth — the Spirit, the water, and the blood. Blood is not invented by any person; it is passed through generations. The blood in every body is older than the person carrying it. This is part of why blood carries such weight as a legal witness.

When Satan stands to accuse a life or a family before God, if the blood of Jesus does not speak, he has a legitimate case. The act of pleading the blood changes the scene of judgment entirely. The accused no longer stands alone — Jesus stands in their place. The only question that can be asked of Satan is: who sinned that Jesus was crucified? Since a sinless man bore the guilt, a guilty man can be declared righteous.

If a sinless man can be declared guilty, then a guilty man can be declared not guilty. That is the power of the blood.

The Truth Sets Free

Isaiah 49:24–25 — Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the Lord: Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

There is a cure to demonic covenants. There is a cure to yokes, spells, hexes, and all of these things. When Jesus Christ hung on the cross, it was not merely the body of a thirty-three year old man — his blood was touching the earth, which is one of the three witnesses. When he went as both high priest and lamb and poured his blood once for all, and returned and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me" — that was a comprehensive legal settlement.

When both the deceived and the deceiver know the truth, deception dies. The strength of deception is that the deceiver knows the truth and uses it as an advantage when the ignorance of the deceived cooperates with it. The cure is not only removing the deceiver — it is that the deceived must also come to the knowledge of truth.

Prayer: Establishing Victory

In the name of Jesus, the Son of the Living God — for myself and for my loved ones — whether it is witchcraft through deception, whether it is manipulation and control of mental faculties, whether it is possession over the unsaved — I declare in the name of Jesus that I am free. Completely free.

Father, I declare that I have a sound mind — a mindset that is word-based and word-compliant. Every wrong thinking, every wrong teaching, every wrong understanding — cultural, demonic, sociological — that has authorized darkness to take advantage of me: in the name of Jesus, I cast down every imagination and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Every stronghold shall be broken.

In the name of Jesus, I decree and declare that by the blood of Jesus — the blood of the eternal covenant — every legal access that Satan has over my life, over my family, over my children, over my territory, is broken now. I declare that I am a partaker of the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Satan, take your hands off my life, my job, my destiny, my health. I decree it is a new season. I decree only the word of the Lord comes to pass in my life. Your strategies of deception over me will not work again. I am a child of God. You have no power over me. The blood speaks against you. It speaks for me. In Jesus' name.

• Continue fasting on Thursdays throughout this series
• Between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. daily, choose any one hour and pray — even if it is only worship and praying in the Spirit for one hour. This is for spiritual edification and discipline, not convenience
