The power of God is present to heal, to lift, to give a turnaround, to rewrite your story, to restore and to renew. But like Jacob in Genesis 28:16, many fail to discern that the Lord is in the place.

A Recap of the Glory

The glory of anything is a description of the distinctive features in that person or thing that make it desirable, worthy of worship, expensive and valuable. The glory of God is therefore a description not only of his manifested presence but of every attribute and resource that comes with his presence. It captures his wisdom, his power and his favor. When the glory of God rests upon a man, an organization or a place, that is the manifested presence of God plus all the riches and resources that come with that presence.

• God desires that the knowledge of his glory cover the globe. See Habakkuk 2:14.
• The glory rests upon men in weights and measures. It describes the intensity of the hand of God, the shekinah, upon an individual. Two people can be born again, saved and anointed, yet carry different weights and measures of glory. There are measures and there are weights of glory. See John 3:34, 2 Corinthians 4:17 and Isaiah 60:1.
• The degree of your exploits depends on the weight of glory you host. Whether as a preacher or a businessman, once you desire to do exploits and walk in dominion, you must host superior dimensions and heavier weights of the glory. The heavier the dimension of glory upon you, the greater your impact. Measures of glory resting upon you produce signs and wonders, revealing the wisdom of God, the power of God and the favor of God.

There are five platforms through which any believer can invest in attracting the glory of God.

1. The prayer platform. As we submit ourselves methodically to prayer, particularly prayer for edification, not just needs-driven prayer, we open ourselves in the spirit and enlarge our capacity to trap superior weights of glory. This is koinonia, the fellowship and participation of the Spirit, as in 2 Corinthians 13:14.
2. The word platform. As we study the word and expand our spirits to access deeper revelation, we go from glory to glory and are able to experience heavier weights of his glory upon our lives. See 2 Corinthians 3:18.
3. The worship platform. There are two dimensions to worship: ministering unto God and receiving from God. Most people focus on the latter. The superior dimension is ministering unto God, with no request, simply acknowledging him in the beauty of his holiness. Something happens in worship (Psalm 22:3), and the shekinah keeps resting upon you in weights and measures until you become full of God, full of the glory, full of the power and the wisdom.
4. The obedience platform. The glory follows obedience (Leviticus 9:6). When you commit yourself to walking in obedience, in keeping with his patterns, the glory of God will inevitably become your habitation. Many believers walk perpetually in disobedience and still desire to see the glory. You cannot see the glory of God in disobedience. The glory of God is connected to obedience (John 2:11), not just as the weightiness of his person but as a manifestation of the riches that come with his presence. When someone who was sick suddenly becomes healed, that is the glory of God manifested, but that manifestation depends on your obedience. If his word says to pray, you pray because you obey. If his word says to give, you give, because you intend to obey. If you keep his commands and you love him (John 14:21, John 14:23), you open yourself up for greater and richer dimensions of his glory.
5. The sacrifice platform. See Psalm 50:5. In John 12:23-24, before Jesus talked about the corn of wheat, he spoke of the hour of glory, and then he talked about death. There is a relationship between death and glory, and between the cross and the throne. The way to the throne is the cross. The way to glory is death (2 Corinthians 4:12). The degree to which you die to the flesh and to mundane desires, and are alive unto Christ, is the degree to which you can host the glory of God.

Two Dimensions of Experience in the Glory

When the glory of God rests upon an individual or is revealed in a place, meaning his shekinah, his manifested presence alongside the riches that come with it, it brings two dimensions of experience.

1. Encounters

   The assignment of encounters is to make you become more like Christ. When you have an encounter with God, at least three things happen.

   • Encounters create and strengthen your conviction. See 2 Timothy 1:12 and Job 42:5. Encounters strengthen your conviction about God and about the faith life.
   • Encounters change you so that you become more like Christ in experience. Not just that we receive in his presence, we are changed (2 Corinthians 3:18). Every time his glory shows up, there is a part of you that does not look like Christ in experience, and that part dies. For every encounter, something must die as proof that you met him. In Isaiah 6:1-7, Isaiah saw the Lord, and after he saw the Lord, something still died. Something still left him.
   • Encounters open you up to the riches of the glory. When we have encounters, we become more like Christ and it deepens our convictions. This is the more superior benefit of the glory of God.

2. Interventions

   This is usually the one believers understand. Intervention is the outstretched arm of God meeting your needs, providing solutions: miracles, signs, wonders and breakthroughs. But all of these are the lesser benefits of the glory. The reason the glory does not seem to profit the saints is that we position ourselves to receive only the interventions, not the encounters. You can choose to receive encounters alone and reject interventions, or receive interventions and reject encounters. Someone who came blind or deaf or on a crutch or in a wheelchair and was healed has not necessarily been changed. It is very possible to receive breakthroughs and all kinds of supernatural interventions and yet ignore the encounter of the glory. Believers are supposed to be open to receive all.

An encounter is by far greater than an intervention. An intervention is the hand of God bridging your situation to provide solutions. But if you are not changed, you can be healed and return sick again. Every time Jesus gave people interventions, he reminded them that there were greater possibilities in the kingdom. It is better to have an encounter at the expense of an intervention, because when you grow and access certain dimensions of grace, certain interventions will naturally give way. Philippians 3:10. Knowing him comes first, then the power of his resurrection. You can experience the power of his resurrection and not know him.

• The man born blind (John 9). When asked how he was healed, he said a man told him to go and wash. When asked who the man was, he said he did not know. It is possible to know what God does and not know who he is. It is possible to know that he heals and lifts and not know that he is God. An encounter does not just tell you what God can do. It tells you who he is, and when you know who he is, you become a reflection of who he is.
• The road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-32). The two men did not receive a miracle from Jesus. He was interested in their hearts, not just their bodies. By the time they broke bread, their eyes were open.
• The wrong measure of God's presence. We have trained ourselves, and sometimes our congregations, to look for interventions as proof that God came. If someone lifts a crutch, eyes open or pain leaves, we use that as a seal that God came. But in a meeting that may be quiet, hearts were changed and lives were transformed. You can have miracle crusades for years and have people who participate and return with testimonies yet never know God, because they never received encounters from the glory. Their hearts did not change.
• Train yourself to focus on encounters. Then you can receive interventions. You can walk away healed, but the greater testimony is that you walked away changed. You can walk away delivered, but the greater testimony is that you have been transited in the spirit and the demons will not be able to return. This is why some people are delivered again and again: they never transit to a point where they become people of stature carrying the glory.
• Know that he came to change you. I do not just think, "God, what are you here to do for me?" I know that a greater, more anointed, more enlightened, more Christlike version of me is emerging. The more I focus on encounters, the more I am empowered to receive interventions and to bring them to others.

The Weight of Glory and the Ease of Operation

Among those who walked in great revival power, most did not pray for power. They prayed to know God. Every time the glory came, their focus was that their hearts be changed. They were not even aware when the miracle working power arrived. One day while casually praying they started seeing miracles.

The heavier the weight upon you, the easier the dispensing of the power. When you find people struggling, it is because there is a measure of the weight of God upon you that is lacking. You will not even need to pray for the sick (Acts 10:44). As you grow in life you must find more efficient ways of dispensing the power of God. If I had to lay hands on everybody one by one, I would cut short my life by half. The secret is to carry the weight of the glory so that you come into a place with your own spiritual climate, and that climate can touch someone everywhere. The weight of glory you carry determines the ease of operation. The heavier the glory, the easier it is. You do not need to shout and keep commanding. One command in the spirit and the weight of glory does the work.

There have been meetings where people began to shake hours before the minister arrived, because there had been an investment of glory in that place. It is a dimension of God the church needs to return to. I am not just talking of falling down. I am talking of people sitting and an influence just holds them. They cannot explain it, but they cannot deny it.

My assignment for many years switched from trying to produce miracles and solutions to becoming a carrier of the weight of God's glory. I studied the protocol of the glory, how to carry the presence of God in a way that is undeniable. I found a key in Exodus 25:22. That is the key. It is not always about casting and instructing situations to go. It is about superimposing a climate of glory upon situations. When his glory rests, things leave. When his glory rests, situations change.

The assignment is not to look for miracles, signs, wonders or even power. It is to find him and to stay when you find him, and to ask that heavier weights of his glory rest upon you as you are about the business of intimacy with him. Then you are enlarged, and one day you will be flattered by the level to which your eyes and ears have opened in the spirit, the products of his presence.

The Riches of His Glory

The glory of God produces champions and makes a sign and a wonder out of ordinary men. The Bible calls the resources that come with the glory the riches of his glory. See Ephesians 3:15-16 and Philippians 4:19. There is an entourage that comes with him. That is how your needs get supplied. Whether it is finances, a job or the anointing, the supply comes according to the riches in glory. If I can get the glory and the resources that come with the glory, I have found the key to my supply. The job you are looking for, the promotion, the open doors and the anointing you are looking for are in the glory. Your assignment is not to look for them. Get the glory there, and with the encounters will come the riches of that glory. When you receive them, you have found what the Bible calls true riches, and that is what you do business with to become a champion. There are eight.

1. Wisdom

   If you can receive wisdom alone from the glory of God, it is enough to change your life. The arrival of wisdom can change your life.

2. Understanding

3. Guidance and direction

   Direction is about a correct destination, while guidance is about the steps that lead to that destination. You can know the end point but not know how to get there. In the glory you receive supernatural guidance and direction.

   • While I was worshipping in the days of cassettes and CDs, the manifest presence of God filled the room and he said, "In the future, cassettes and CDs will no longer work. Technology will overtake that. Take your messages and put them online. My angel will take you to the nations." That little instruction led to this ministry. Ten years can be defined in five minutes of the glory.
   • A businessman worshipping or praying can receive direction: "Do not do this. Get up and do this one. This product will happen." You take that step of faith and it changes your life forever.
   • The ministry received a large and celebrated property as a manifestation of the hand of God. Later a vision showed that, though it was ours, it was not the land to build what we wanted to build. God can prohibit you from something celebrated as a miracle, because the glory teaches you. He then gave us something about three times that size.
   • Direction from the glory may look suicidal, but if it comes from the glory, you will remain a sign and a wonder. Many dimensions await us, but we are not focused on dwelling in the glory until his word comes.

4. Skill

   There is a dimension of intelligence that is not a learnable ability. The glory brings it. I respect intellect, and I am a student of knowledge, but there are dimensions I found myself in by impartation. When the glory lifted from off me, I realized that certain prophetic and intellectual abilities had been quickened in me. The glory of God can rest upon a student, and something happens to the mind that cannot be explained, as if the mind becomes a magnet. There is a spirit in man, and there is an inspiration from that spirit that makes men of understanding (Job 32:8). I have no dedicated program for cramming scriptures. I love the Lord and read my Bible sincerely, but because of years of investment in the glory, something happened to my mind. A Bible is inside the spirit, and it opens and we journey with the Holy Ghost. If a song is relevant for the message prophetically, the Holy Ghost draws it out. How do you train someone into that ability? It is a supernatural capacity to comprehend things at an intellectual frequency that is shocking.

5. Strength and vitality

   Ephesians 3:16. This is emotional strength and physical strength. No matter how disciplined you are or how balanced your diet, a day will come when your body says it is tired. At that point you realize he gives strength to the weak. There are times I am physically tired, my natural strength is abated, and I rest my head and say, "Spirit of the living God, help me." Suddenly there is strength, as if some spiritual dopamine is injected. I can stand for hours and do what I have to do, and I know that by myself it is not my strength.

6. Utterance

   Utterance is the capacity to communicate the oracles of God. This is a signature of dwelling in the glory. I am not just talking of English, which is auditory. God does something to your tongue and grants capacity to speak his counsel with precision and excellence (Psalm 45:1). Show me a man that understands the glory and I will show you a man who can speak. It does not matter how educated or uneducated you are, if you stay in the glory, you will know how to speak in a way that ministers life. You cannot bless your generation until you know how to speak God to them in a way that they understand. This is particularly for preachers.

   • This is not learned academically. Academics give information and strengthen delivery, but utterance is a gift from God and a product of the secret place.
   • You can know a man who understands the Bible intellectually and theologically but does not have the gift of utterance. He says many intelligent things, but they fall dead on the mind of anyone, with no penetrative power. They cannot enter your spirit man.
   • Paul prayed for a door of utterance (Colossians 4:3). When you have the gift of utterance, it opens the gates of nations. Oratory becomes an added advantage, but utterance guides you to know when to sing your points, when to dramatize them and when to stress them again.
   • People under it cannot describe what is happening to them. They just know their spirit is like fire burning within their heart, and that something is leaving heaven through you to their spirit man.

7. Favor

   There is good understanding that gives favor (Proverbs 13:15), but there is a dimension of favor that comes from the glory, and when you catch it, it alone can open doors. Most people do not know why they feel drawn to bless a man of God. It is not just because he is a good teacher. There is favor received in the secret place, and every time you behold his face, something in you does not rest till you bless him. It is the reward for the discipline of staying with God. They are exempted from certain sufferings because they have paid their price in the glory.

   • Pharaoh refused to give Israel straw, then overnight something passed over Israel and he said, "Take everything." They spoiled the Egyptians. As soon as they left, something left Pharaoh and he pursued them, because he was not in his right mind. He was under the influence of the glory (Exodus 12:35-36).
   • This is why Moses said that if the presence would not go with them, they should not waste their time. The Lord answered that his presence would go with them and he would give them rest (Exodus 33:14-15).
   • Unbelievers who become influential have businesses and connections, but they go and stay with demonic powers, and when they come out, people buy from them helplessly. That is the negative parallel of this principle. Thank God for the ideas and the technical skills, but stay in the glory.
   • This is how some have done business with God and with destiny. It is not because we are much or because we know so much. We found the key.

8. Honor

   Honor is a dimension of the anointing of the Spirit with the assignment of correcting your perception before men until they recognize you according to your true worth. If honor is not at work in your life, men will reward you based on their perception. See Numbers 27:20. You cannot influence a generation if honor is not on your head. They will not regard what you say. You cannot call them to prayer, to learning or to creativity and have them come. It takes honor to speak to a generation so that they respond by lending you their attention, and all of this comes from the glory.

The Glory Is Not for Preachers Alone

• The glory does not empower a man to be a preacher. It empowers you to be a sign and a wonder. The glory comes with witty inventions and the capacity to see things (Psalm 127:2, Jeremiah 33:3). There are times he gives you, times he shows you, and times he makes you. The glory is where men are made and gifts are given.
• I have seen the glory produce billionaires: ideas, products, services and technological applications. Some fell asleep like Adam (Genesis 2:21), and while asleep something was infused in them. They saw witty inventions in dreams and visions, got up and replicated them, and are now billionaires.
• The altar first, then the throne. Christianity does not erode creativity or science, but first things first. The altar powers the throne. Melchizedek was the priest of the most high and then the king of Salem (Genesis 14:18). You have to be a priest of the most high before you become the king of the tech space, or an exceptional man of God.
• Songs come from the glory. You hear the sound of angels and the realm of the spirit, and you bring back sounds and melodies, wise enough to know you are only a beneficiary of the riches of the glory. Many sermons came directly from visions, when I had names, heard sounds and saw sermons.
• If preaching were not in my destiny, I would reroute the glory through another intelligence and it would perform the same assignment. Preaching is a tool. I build men for a living.
• Students need the glory because of the attacks that befall men. Leaders need the glory because of the honor that comes with it.

You can invite the commissioner of police, the chief judge and a number of people to a meeting, but a more predictable way is to invite the governor in his official capacity. Then the cabinet you are trying to reach one by one will naturally come. It is wonderful to seek favor, wisdom and utterance, but why not seek his presence and the glory? When the presence comes, the most refined dimension of wisdom comes, and the most refined dimension of favor comes.

The glory is not a resource you can buy in the market, pick in a bank or find in a library. It comes from heaven, and the one who has it is the one who will remain relevant upon the earth. Preachers, go for the glory. Cry for the glory. Pray, stay, fast and seek for the glory. The wisdom, the utterance and the favor that come from it are what you need. Your business ideas are wisdom dependent, and the glory can bring them. Every time I stay in his presence, I become wealthier and more valuable to my world. The effort invested in trying to prove yourself is a waste. Let the glory do the speaking. It is time for your results to prove that you have met God. In Matthew 11:28, he first speaks of salvation, but in addition to salvation he wants to show you a fountain where men can find rest.

When we use the channels of prayer, the study of the word, worship, obedience and sacrifice, we enlarge our capacities in the spirit and attract tremendous weights and measures of God's glory. When the glory comes, it brings encounters that deepen your consecration, prune and purify, build your faith and open you to the riches of the glory. It also brings interventions, which are supernatural solutions, tokens of his presence and proof that he loves you.

Impartation

God wants to impart graces that bring activations and quickenings and open you up to supernatural dimensions in the kingdom, to release supernatural solutions such as healings and breakthroughs, and to speak prophetically over lives.

Deliverance

Deliverance has three dimensions.

1. Separation of a man from spirit influences

   Spirits that influence you in various capacities and create patterns inconsistent with the ways of God (Obadiah 1:17).

2. Separation between you and negative conditions

   Deliverance is not limited to separation from spirits. A stronghold is a condition that needs deliverance. There are certain destinies plagued by negative conditions and negative cycles, such as father like son, repetitive demonic patterns and untimely death.

3. Taking away limitations that impede progress

   Peter was in prison (Acts 12:6-7). There is a reason why they bound only his hands and his feet. They did not have to bind his head. They bound his hands, the symbol of productivity, and his feet, the symbol of direction, and kept him there. Many times deliverance has to do with breaking away the hindrances that impede your movement.

Jesus did not die for us to manage situations. He died to give us victory. You do not manage addictions. You triumph over them. You do not manage destructive habits. You triumph over them.

Deliverance from Addiction

Addiction is a spirit. When it lands upon you, it is knowledge and the help of God that delivers you. Those struggling with addictions are not necessarily evil people. There are preachers addicted, businessmen addicted, and Christians addicted to drugs, violence, pornography and masturbation. Pornography and masturbation are among the addictions killing people, and there is medical research on what they have done to the reasoning of young people. Many were introduced to these things by friends. Ministry to them is not based on self-righteousness. It comes as a fellow brother helping by the mercy of God. It is better that we deal with these things in the church, where we solve them. Psalm 20:1-2. There is help in the sanctuary.

There are three ways to break free from addiction.

1. Deliverance from spirit influence

   The satanic influence that has rested upon you and forces you into these things is broken by the power of God.

2. Deliverance through transformation

   You must submit yourself to the word of God (Psalm 119:9).

3. The discipline of conformity

   You take advantage of the grace of God and obtain grace to flee (1 Thessalonians 5:22). It is within your power to come to yourself and deal with associations. Love is a command. Association is not. Those who have a same-sex attraction, as a result of an early introduction, are also set free by the grace of God.

Healing is tripartite. The healing of the spirit is called salvation. The healing of the soul is called transformation. There is also the healing of the body. Addictions that affect the body require more than casting out a spirit. They need the healing of the mind and a rehabilitation of your understanding.

Matthew 12:37. You have spoken.

We are not a generation that condemns. We are all instruments of God's mercy. See 1 Corinthians 10:12.

Healing

The Call to Salvation

You have seen the power of God. He allows his power to be made manifest so that we will believe. There is no point cajoling you. If you need Jesus, if you want to be born again or rededicate your life and live for Jesus, salvation is for all (Acts 2:39).
