Apostle Femi Lazarus Preaching - Word for 2026
Sermon

lightbulb Message Summary - Key Nuggets

  • The parting of the Red Sea was plan B — plan A was walking on water. Some miracles are only necessary because of unbelief.
  • 2026 is the year of flight: the wind that grounds others is the same wind that gives eagles their lift.
  • God is not in the business of convincing the enemy to stop pursuing you — he tells you to move, and what he does with your pursuer is his business.
  • The same pillar that goes ahead of you will sometimes move behind you — stop, take your rest, and let God deal with what is chasing you.

Move — Before You See the Sea Part

Look at Exodus 14:15. After Moses gave the great motivational speech — Fear not, stand still, see the salvation of the Lord — God's response was not, well done, now watch me work. God said: Wherefore criest thou unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward.

The first word for this year is: move regardless.

Do not wait for it to get better before you start moving. Do not wait for the Red Sea to part. Just move.

Hope you know that the parting of the Red Sea was plan B. Plan A was what Jesus did — walk on it. Some things are not necessary. God has to do them because of your unbelief. But if you will learn to move by faith, you will walk on waters.

Do not wait for it to look like what you expect before you start declaring it. Do not ask for permission. Do not beg. Do not explain. Just move.

God Hands You the Rod

Look at Exodus 14:16: But lift thou thy rod and stretch thine hand over the sea and divide it. That is quite a tough instruction for a religious mind. Because a religious mind believes God parted the Red Sea. But God told Moses: you part it.

Meaning: there are things you are asking God to come down and do — and he is saying, I have placed the power within you.

  • You have received enough impartation. Now it is time to move.
  • In 2026, you will not be watching someone else part the Red Sea — you will be the one parting it.
  • God will use you to do things that even you will begin to ask: is this really me?

The Pillar That Moves Behind You

Look at Exodus 14:19-20. The angel of the Lord, the pillar of cloud that had been going ahead of them, moved and went behind them. The same pillar. It now stood between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel. Darkness to one side — light to the other.

What this means for this season: God is not only going ahead of you. He is also behind you. Whatever is pursuing you, the pillar has moved between you and it. Take your rest. You can sleep this night. The thing behind you cannot reach you — the pillar is your fence.

This is also a word of precision: the same pillar that usually goes forward sometimes moves differently. In this season, not everything will look like what you are used to. Be sensitive to the movement of the Spirit. Do not follow a direction just because that is where you have always followed before.

The Year of Wind and Flight

Look at Isaiah 40:31: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

A strong wind is coming — and has come. But this is the word: the wind that grounds other planes is the same wind that gives the right kind of aircraft bragging rights. The wind that is about to blow is what will reveal God's children — those he has been building in hiddenness.

  • Eagles do not run from the storm. They ride it. They do not chase it. They spread their wings and let the same wind that frightens others carry them higher.
  • The strength that comes from lonely paths — places where even those who trained you do not recognise what you are doing — that is a strength you cannot get in the midst of applause.
  • Stop complaining about the wind. Stop responding to what was sent to reveal you. Let it. That is the point.

God told me: 2026 is not a year for the timid. It is for the bold — for those who are not waiting for permission to solve the problems of their days. Enter now. He has given you a voice. Speak.

For Those Who Have Been Waiting

There was a season of seven years — seven full years of praying, waiting, fasting, wondering why colleagues were advancing and this ministry seemed paused. Seven years of being what looked like a reproach. But the Lord was building something that could not be built under the attention of the world.

When the season ended, what God had been placing internally was ready for expression. Those who go by road from Abuja to Lagos — and leave three hours before the flight — the one who waited, and then boarded and flew, still arrives first.

If God has paused you, that is not rejection. That is preparation. And when the flight comes — you will recover quickly. You will overtake.

Father, ahead of 2026, show me with precision what I must do. Let the confusion of last year not follow me into this one. I will not fight as one beating the air. I cling to the altar of mercy. Have mercy on me — Jesus, Son of David, have mercy. In Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Inspiring Quote

Sermon

"One symptom of backsliding is that you begin to look down on the simple things that keep you on fire, calling a devotional 'just milk.' It's not about the information, it's about the consistency."
