Mark 4:35–39: "And the same day, when the evening was come, he said unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they wake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm."

You Were Tested Before You Were Born

Before a phone is released to the market, the company that made it tests it. They test it, confirm it works, then dismantle it — battery apart, screen apart, charger apart — and package it as new for the market. You were the first to use your phone. But before you were born, you existed. Before you came to this world, you were in another world. You were tested. You functioned.

Jeremiah 1:5: "Before I formed thee in the womb I knew thee." Meaning — you already existed. You were compressed and placed into a woman's womb. You are here because you are needed. Everything God created you to be, everything God made you to be, that is what the enemy is contending.

God's Prophecies Are Exact

Every prophecy of God comes to pass — at the exact time appointed:

• Genesis 15:13 — God told Abraham his seed would be in captivity. 430 years later it came to pass.
• Joshua 6:26 — Joshua prophesied about Jericho. It came to pass over 500 years later.
• 2 Kings 4:16 — Elisha said "By this time one year, you will have a son." One year later, it came to pass.
• 1 Kings 18 — Elijah said "By this time tomorrow, there shall be rain." 24 hours later, it came to pass.
• Matthew 26:34 — Jesus told Peter before the cock crowed twice. 6 hours later, it came to pass.
• Isaiah 38 — God told Hezekiah to put his house in order. The turnaround came in 5 minutes.

Some are waiting 430 years. Some are waiting one year. Some only have to wait 6 hours. But somebody here is about to see their story change in moments.

Life Has Two Sides

Jesus said, "Let us pass over unto the other side." Life has two sides. There is a side of struggle, a side of sickness, a side of limitation — but there is another side. God wants to take you to the other side. You will get to the other side.

Three Things Storms Do

1. Storms Make You Forget Who You Are

   Peter was a fisherman. Every fisherman can swim. Even if the ship capsized, he would not drown. But the storm made him forget who he was. Some of you, because of what you are going through, have forgotten who you are. If only you knew who you are — a peculiar person, a chosen generation, a royal priesthood.

   A young man going to a job interview asked his wealthy father for a letter of introduction. His father said, "Go. Just mention your surname." When the boy got there and mentioned his name, the interview panel was not asking if they could give him a job — they were asking what position he wanted. The father owned 60% of the shares in that company. Many do not understand the surname they carry. You are not a candidate for disease. You are not a candidate for failure. Know who you are.

2. Storms Make You Forget Who God Is

   You cannot carry God and carry failure. You cannot carry God and carry defeat. If you carry God, you carry good. If you carry God, you carry multiplication, increase, success. To have Jesus in the boat with you and still be terrified about perishing — that is a storm making you forget who is with you. Compare your problem not with yourself but with God. When you see the size of your God against the size of your problem, the problem disappears.

3. Storms Make You Forget Where You Are Going

   The Bible says you are on a journey and nothing will stop that journey. You made up your mind, you chose him, and the moment you choose him, everything he has becomes yours. Like the story of the master who left his entire estate to be divided according to the slave's choice — whatever the slave picks, the son gets everything else. The son chose to pick the slave. So everything the slave chose became his. Choose Jesus, and everything in him is yours.

The Secret of Relationship

Storms do not move Jesus. But when they said "Master" — he responded immediately. That is what relationship does. Many understand God as the Creator of all, but there is access reserved for those in relationship. Apostles, ministers, presidents wait weeks for an appointment. But a father's children walk into the room and say "Hi Dad" — they can even touch his nose. That access is relationship.

Build a relationship where you can call him Master. When you have that relationship with him, you can carry him, call him, and he answers. The disciples had the storm stopped the moment they called on him by name. Your answer is connected to your relationship.
