Two Positions in the New Testament
When reading the New Testament, there are two positions you can occupy. Both are legitimate. But there is one position God ultimately wants to bring every mature believer into.
The first position is the position of the receiver — those who came to Jesus for what they needed. Bartimaeus calling on Him. The woman with the issue of blood reaching to touch Him. God honors that kind of faith.
But there is a second position — the position of those who, like the apostles, are built to become what Jesus was to others. When Jesus called the apostles, He did not immediately give them things to eat or material blessings. He said: "Follow Me, and I will make you." He was not calling them to receive things — He was calling them to become something. He was building them to take His place.
The things He actually gave them were not material things. They were the things that make: the Holy Spirit, righteousness, eternal life, His name, His power, His anointing. He was training them so that when He left, there would be no vacuum.
If you are not Bartimaeus, then you are Christ. One receives — the other gives. You are being built to be the one through whom others receive.
Flesh Cannot Manifest Spirit
This is the foundational law of manifesting the supernatural: flesh cannot manifest spirit. Any effort in the flesh to produce spiritual results is useless — worse than useless, because it is a counterfeit that can mislead both the minister and those being ministered to.
This is why the protocol matters. Manifesting the supernatural is not a performance. It is not charisma. It is not technique. It is not vocal volume or dramatic actions. It is a spiritual law — the law of the Spirit of life — operating through a yielded vessel.
Romans 8:2: "The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." The Spirit operates by laws. When you know those laws and align yourself with them, the supernatural becomes a consistent reality — not a random occurrence.
Laws That Govern Manifesting the Supernatural
- The Law of Righteousness — The supernatural flows through righteous vessels. Not moral perfection, but legal right-standing with God through faith in Christ. A minister who has maintained their righteousness — who has not given legal ground to darkness — is a clear channel for the power of God.
- The Law of the Anointing — Acts 10:38: "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him." The anointing is not an emotion. It is the empowerment of the Holy Spirit upon a life for a specific function. Without the anointing, what you are doing is natural activity — however sincere.
- The Law of Faith — The supernatural requires faith on the part of the minister. Mark 9:23: "If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes." The minister must operate in faith — not waiting for feelings but acting on the certainty of what God has said.
- The Law of the Name — Acts 3:6: Peter said, "In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." The name of Jesus carries the full legal authority of heaven. It is not a formula; it is a court order. When invoked in faith by an authorized ambassador, it commands what God has commanded.
- The Law of the Word — The supernatural is released through the spoken Word. God created by speaking. Jesus healed by speaking. The disciples released miracles by speaking. The Word in the mouth of a Spirit-filled believer carries creative power.
Receiving Laws vs. Manifesting Laws
The protocol for receiving the supernatural (faith, confession, expectation) is different from the protocol for manifesting the supernatural. Those in ministry — those sent to bring the supernatural to others — operate under the laws of giving, not just the laws of receiving.
The apostles understood this. When Jesus left, they did not wait for someone to bring them the supernatural. They went out and manifested it. They had received His righteousness, His life, His Spirit, His name, and His power — and they manifested Him to a waiting world.
This is what mature believers are being built for: not to always be on the receiving end but to be consistent, reliable channels through whom the King manifests Himself to every person in need.
