You Are Sent — and God Wrote It Down Before You Were Born
John 15:16
You are chosen. You are ordained. You are sent. God did not employ you — he deployed you. You are here from somewhere. You are on assignment.
Psalms 139:13-16
God made all the delicate inner parts of your body and knit you together in your mother's womb. He watched as you were formed in the darkness of the womb — your little hands, your heartbeat, your features. He was watching. He was not absent.
You are not a mass production. God made you one at a time. That is why your DNA is unique to you.
Verse 16 in the NIV says: your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. God has a book with your name on it. All your days — written down before you took your first breath.
This is why we cannot abort babies. Before they are formed, God knows them. Before they come out of the womb, they are already ordained. Every child has a purpose. Every unformed body is being watched by God.
Say Not That You Are a Child
Jeremiah 1:5-7
Before God formed Jeremiah in the belly, he knew him. Before he came out of the womb, God ordained him a prophet to the nations. But Jeremiah's response was: Lord God, I cannot speak — for I am a child.
God's response: say not that you are a child.
This is God addressing the internal fear that lives in many people — the feeling of incompetence, of not being qualified, of not being good enough. And God does not accept this excuse. He says: say not that I am a child.
- You are never too young to be used by God.
- You are never too old to be used by God.
- You are never too poor. You are never too uneducated. You are never too broken by your past.
God has never called anyone who was good enough. He avoids people who think they are good enough — because it becomes difficult for God to get the glory when the person is clearly qualified.
If you feel weak, incompetent, and out of your depth — you are in the exact profile God is looking for.
Internal Fear: The Fear of Your Own Weakness
The first kind of fear that stops people is internal — fear of their own weakness. Fear of their past sin. Fear that their background disqualifies them.
- Moses killed a man. God still used him.
- Paul imprisoned and killed Christians. God still used him.
- David committed adultery and orchestrated murder. God still used him — and in the New Testament, there is no record of it.
In the New Testament, God does not rehearse your past sins. The record was wiped. The shame has no legal standing anymore.
Say not that I am a child. Do not say that your past disqualifies you. Do not say that your incompetence is permanent. God is the one calling — and he looks at his own pocket, not yours.
You are in God's book. Every day was written before you were born. Walk into the pages — they are already there.
