The Purpose Behind Fruitfulness

Most believers do not know why God insists that their lives bear fruit. If you do not understand the intent behind God's insistence for your fruitfulness, you may not partner with him in making that happen. There is a dimension of God's glory that cannot be revealed until you bear fruit.

John 15:8 says, "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit." That means when you produce results — spiritual results, financial results — when you make progress in life and destiny, God is glorified. When you live a life free from sickness, God is glorified. When you are not behind on your finances and making progress enough to care for your family and the kingdom, God is glorified. When you have quality relationships — your spouse, your children — and things are working relationally, God is glorified. When you are growing in your mind and scaling heights in your professional career, God is glorified.

God's glory — the revelation of it upon the earth — depends on the results produced by and through the saints. Our results bring validation to his claims. He is glorified when you walk in dominion, when you scale heights in business, when you scale heights in ministry.

That means if Satan wanted to stop the saints from bringing glory to God, he would attack their potential for productivity — by plaguing their health, by destroying their mind. The reason we pray over the sick is not merely to show that a man is anointed. We are remedying what Satan is doing to God's creation. That is why we speak promotion, why we release grace for favor. The higher you rise, the more God is glorified.

Look at Daniel: how did he bring glory to the name of the Lord? By standing out. He was exalted, and the more he was exalted the Lord was glorified in Babylon. When Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were exalted it brought great glory to the name of the Lord. How were God's people preserved in Egypt? When Joseph was exalted. If Joseph were still a prisoner, most likely Jacob and all the sons would have died in the famine. It was his influence that helped preserve them as a covenant people living in Egypt.

John 15:16 — "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you." The word ordained means to legitimize your operation so that your function is not regarded as illegal. If God does not legitimize your operation, the realm of the spirit will not respect your words. Demons said, "Jesus I know, Paul I know — but who are you?" The problem was not the words. It was identity. Ephesians 2:10 — we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works. You build stamina when you invest in the word, and the manifestation of that transformation is authority — exousia. Authority on account of knowledge.

God's Desire: Saved and Victorious

1 Timothy 2:4 gives us a framework of the believer's progression. The Bible says God desires all men to be saved and then to come onto the knowledge of the truth. God's desire for all men is not just salvation — that is the beginning of a journey that leads to victory, dominion, power, and grace.

John 8:32 says, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." The victory captured in truth is not released upon merely hearing — you must know the truth.

2 Corinthians 2:14 — "Now thanks be unto God who always causes us to triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of his knowledge." When you spray a perfume from one point, it diffuses across the entire room. God causes us to triumph and the fragrance of that triumph in Christ is spread abroad to every person.

Romans 8:37 — "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us." Paul does not ignore the factors that can tamper with faith — famine, hunger, persecution. He is honest enough to articulate them. But he says: in spite of all these things, we are more than conquerors. The obstacles are not the reason the believer should live a defeated life. And notice — it is through Christ. The believer's dominion is derived from your relationship with Christ. Outside of your partnership with Christ, there is no possibility for walking in dominion.

God does not just want you to serve him while living a defeated life. There are many believers sincerely serving, standing for Jesus — but the victory that is in Christ is hardly visible in their lives. It is possible to serve God while manifesting unquestionable dominion — in your relationships, your finances, over your body. There are principles for this.

The Believer's Journey: Four Stages

Every person's journey begins as an unsaved individual. The sin problem is not merely an act — it is a nature in man derived from original sin. An opportunity is given to all in Christ.

The formula for salvation is exact. Romans 10:9–10 — "With the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." You must believe with your heart — not just that Jesus is Savior, but that he is Lord, that he rose again — and then verbalize it. Speaking is proof that you are using your will consciously. Upon making that sincere confession, a translation happens from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of his dear Son.

The next phase is that a saved believer can remain an infant in the spirit. Growth is not automatic — it is engaged through light. Galatians 4 says that for as long as an heir is a child, he differs not from a slave. The limitations of one outside Christ will largely be your limitation in spite of being genuinely saved — because the blessings of the God-life are released through knowledge.

The Three Tools of Transformation

From the point of being saved, God introduces three factors to the believer's life:

1. The Person and Ministry of the Holy Spirit

   There is such a thing as an encounter with the person and office of the Holy Spirit that is distinct from the initial salvation experience. Jesus himself was with the disciples already, but he said: when the Spirit of Truth comes in addition to me, he will guide you into all truth. John 16:13

2. The Word of God

   2 Timothy 3:15 — from a child thou hast known the Holy Scripture, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among them that are sanctified. Watch what Scripture does: it builds you up before delivering an inheritance. Not everybody who is saved is built up, and not everybody can walk in the experience of their inheritance.

   John 1:1–3 — "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made." Hebrews 11:3 — "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God." When a believer wants to transition, God introduces the ministry of his word.

3. The Ministry of a Teaching Priest

   Ephesians 4:11–12 — God gave some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, for the equipping and maturing of the saints for the work of the ministry, that they might be built up into the fullness of the measure of the stature of Christ.

   Jeremiah 3:15 — "I will give you pastors according to my heart, who will feed you with knowledge and with understanding." Every man of God serving the Lord and loving God's people is a gift — "I will give you." The unbeliever becomes the believer through the new birth. The believer becomes matured through this tripartite combination.

Prayer becomes a platform to engage these three forces. Without the word of God, prayer becomes a ritual like any other idle practice. What gives power to prayer is its word compliancy. That means for your prayer life to be effective, you must be sound in scripture. In order of priority, Jesus went to the temple before he went to pray — because your prayer should be full of what is written.

There is such a thing as praying amiss. This is the confidence we have in him: that when we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. Your confidence is in the fact that your prayer is word compliant. Where the will of God is already written from scripture, pray the scripture with confidence. Where the will of God is uniquely unclear to you on a matter, pray in the spirit until a clear revelation of God's will comes. One of the benefits of praying in the spirit is to help you download the mind of God per issue.

Empowerment and the Witness

When a believer grows and matures through transformation, the next step is empowerment — and empowerment only comes upon a life that has already been transformed. The oil always reflects the size of the vessel. When the widow went to Elisha in 2 Kings 4, he said the oil is not the issue — the container is small. "Go and borrow vessels, not a few." As she expanded her capacity, the oil grew to match the vessels.

Once empowered by the Spirit, your name changes — there is an increase, an elevation, an upgrade. The believer transforms to become a witness. It is at that point God can send you and back you — whether in ministry, in business, in family. That is when you become truly useful to God's program.

Principle One — The Necessity of Extraordinary Results

You will not contend to walk in the more-than-conqueror dimension until you understand that your bearing fruit brings glory to the name of the Lord. This perspective changes everything about your pursuit. The moment you tie the revelation of God's glory to your pursuit, it ceases to be carnal.

Carnality has nothing to do with having or losing things. The purpose for which you have or lose them is what makes anything carnal. If you are trusting God to be a multimillionaire, what makes that pursuit carnal or otherwise is how Christ will be revealed through it. If in your being wealthy the church of the Lord Jesus Christ will be supported, if souls will be saved through your resources — that pursuit ceases to be carnal.

Any activity that leads to the glorification of self alone is, from a spiritual standpoint, a total waste. Consider the rich fool in scripture: he was not called a fool because he was wealthy. He was foolish because the purpose of his wealth was for self. He said, "My soul, take ease," and God replied: this day your soul is demanded of you. But then consider Solomon, whose life for a major part was to glorify God. Consider Joseph of Arimathea, who used his wealth and influence to secure the tomb where Jesus would lay — and because of that tomb we can say, "O death, where is your sting?"

Your life should be able to market Jesus in a way that nations would desire him. Most believers love Jesus and serve Jesus, but their lives and results cannot attract people to Jesus — because through their lives they are presenting a Jesus the nations cannot receive.

Principle Two — Knowledge of Spiritual Laws

Producing results, walking in dominion, manifesting the more-than-conqueror dimension depends on your thorough understanding of spiritual laws.

Ephesians 1:3 — "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ." You have been blessed already — at the point you received Jesus. The life of God deposited into your spirit came with that blessing. But the experience of that blessing will not happen by default. It needs to be released on account of knowledge.

There are spiritual laws that govern dominion. There are spiritual laws that govern walking in the experience of victory. Many believers love God but are ignorant of the laws.

Psalm 82:5–6 — "They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness, and all the foundations of the earth are out of course... Ye are gods and all of you are children of the most high — but ye shall die like men and fall like one of the princes." Hosea 4:6 — "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." You can be a victim of what you do not know.

Imagine two believers — both saved, but one is ignorant of these laws: not knowing there is such a thing as speed in the kingdom, not knowing there is such a thing as favor, not even believing that demonic attack is real. That believer will pay a price. The other has been methodically mentored and engages all these forces. Their results — and the revelation of Jesus through their lives — will not be the same.

Favor is not entirely unmerited. Only one dimension of favor is unmerited — the favor that translates as saving grace. Every other dimension of favor is merited; it is programmed through knowledge. Proverbs 13:15 — "Good understanding giveth favour, but the way of transgressors is hard."

• The keys that control favor: honor, value, relationships, favor-provoking prayers, and the anointing of excellence.
• The laws that govern increase: giving is one, but only one. Diligence is another — "a diligent hand shall be made fat." Being valuable is another — "Is there a man so discreet and wise that we may set him over the affairs of Egypt?" Relationships are another — Lot prospered because he went with Abraham.
• The three ways God administers help: through his mercy, through the gift of destiny helpers, and through the word — because "by a prophet the Lord brought them."

Things will not work themselves out on their own. If your life is going to change, you must arise, take responsibility, and obtain the faith to act.

Graces are connected to revelations. You are not looking for the grace for healing — find the word that brings you health, and the grace connected to it will be released. You are not looking for the grace for prosperity — find the principle connected to the increase of the saints, and with that knowledge will come that grace.

Every area in your life where you have not seen the glory of God revealed — it is not a limitation from God's side. You have not understood the laws that govern manifesting that result. "Now that ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them." Many believers know — but the results don't speak. You must obtain grace to engage the word.

The Mentality of the More Than Conqueror

All blessings come from God through men to men. Your promotion comes from God through men. The keys to your house come from God through men. All attacks come from Satan through men. Whether it is God or Satan, men have always been midwives — for blessing and for pain.

This orientation alone will make you respect spiritual laws like the law of honor. Every time doors close, they close in response to dishonor — dishonor to God, dishonor to men, dishonor to principles.

There are men ordained to stand with you. You do not build in isolation. Numbers 1:5 — there are men who have been called and ordained to stand with you. They have names. They are living people. Do you know how to call them?

Deuteronomy 28:1 — "It shall come to pass, if thou shalt diligently hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments... all these blessings shall come upon thee and overtake thee. Thou shalt be exalted above all the nations of the earth." A man can be exalted by grace to a point where no nation sustains the ability to reject the investment of God upon his life. It doesn't work because of your personality — it works because of his integrity.

Genesis 21:1 — "And the Lord visited Sarah as he had spoken, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had said." God visits as he says. He does as he has spoken. If he has spoken great things concerning you, you have to know what he has said and engage it — not merely claim it.

Believers can be poor and walk a second-class life in the spirit not because of their background — but because of wrong information. Refuse wrong spirits that would fool you into living a second-class life. Galatians 3:29 — "If ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." Genesis 12:3 — "In thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed." Once you are a believer, you have been grafted into a new life.

No matter how humble you remain, never accept defeat. Revelations create transitions. You can evolve, leave your former self with its weaknesses and limitations, and move to a new dimension in the spirit. Find the areas in your life and Christian experience that are not working, and be on a spiritual project: damage ignorance, fight ignorance like you fight demons.

Prophesying to the Bones — The Ezekiel 37 Pattern

Ezekiel 37 describes a very sorry situation. The prophet was taken in the spirit to a place where he saw bones — they were once an army. God does not create bones. He creates men, but they deteriorate until all that is left are bones. Bones are a testimony that losses have happened, that decay, depletion, and decline have taken place.

God said to Ezekiel: Son of Man, can these bones live? Even the prophet who was accustomed to spiritual things replied: only thou knowest. He had the spiritual experience, but at the scale of this level of death and decline, he said, "I cannot speak to this myself."

And the Lord said: let me teach you how to be more than a conqueror.

• Lesson one: Every time you see things in the physical that have deteriorated, understand that the realm of the spirit births the physical. There is something you can do with God in the spirit that can begin to manipulate realities. When a job is not working, stop quarreling — go to the realm of the spirit. Destiny is controlled from the realm of the spirit. Favor is controlled from the realm of the spirit. Promotion is controlled from the realm of the spirit.
• Lesson two: The things that are seen are temporal — subject to change, but only under a certain condition. Science has perfected the art of simulating conditions that produce certain outcomes. You need to be a spiritual rainmaker who knows how to program your climate. You know that you can control outcomes because you have been given dominion. You are more than a conqueror. There are laws, there are mysteries that control results.
• Lesson three: Prophesy. Speak to the bones. "So I prophesied as I was commanded, and there was a sound — a sound over my job, over my situation." A sound means something is arriving. Something has left heaven and is coming to you.

Ezekiel 37:10 — "Breath entered into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet — an exceeding great army." They were once called bones. Now they have a new name — an exceeding great army. Names can change. Status can change.

What shall separate us from the love of Christ? He lists the very things that can turn men to bones — persecution, hunger, famine, rejection, pain, joblessness, barrenness. All these and more can reduce men to be less than themselves. But when you get to that wilderness, do not focus on the bone — focus on the sound. Because with every sound, there is a transition.
