What the Supernatural Life Is

From Colossians 3:1-2 — Since then you have been raised with Christ, set your heart on things above where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things. The supernatural is not an earthly thing. It is not a thing of flesh. However, the manifestations are done on earth — but it is governed by the spirit.

If your life is hidden in Christ, the things that Jesus does, you can do likewise. The supernatural life is a mind set on things above — because you have been raised with Christ and your life is hidden in him. Your life goes beyond the natural. The things that you do are not born out of the natural realm.

Proximity Does Not Equal Expression

From Matthew 17:14-21 — A man came to Jesus kneeling and saying: Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely. He often falls into the fire and into the water. I brought him to your disciples — but they could not cure him.

Jesus had given his disciples authority. Matthew 10:1 — Jesus called his 12 disciples and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. And in John 14:12 — he who believes in me, the works that I do he will do also, and greater works than these he will do. And in John 5:19 — the son can do nothing of himself but what he sees the father do; whatever he does, the son also does in like manner.

So Jesus expected that the more they had seen him do, the more they should become like him. It is possible to be close to a healer and not exercise the healing gift. It is possible to be close to the authority and not manifest the authority. Proximity to the anointed does not necessarily mean you can express the anointing at work in your life.

Many people believe miracles are only for those on pulpits, only for those who hold microphones. But the truth is: miracles should be expressed and manifested by everyone — whether pastor or not. He has given you the authority. You do not need a title for you to walk in that light. What many times causes people to stay silent is that they do not know their identity in Christ.

The Problem Was Lack of Faith

Jesus answered and said: oh faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? The disciples asked privately: why could we not cast it out? Jesus said: because of your unbelief.

Authority without faith cannot manifest miracles. Faith is the tool that enables you to exercise the authority you have in Christ. The disciples had the authority — that was not the problem. The problem was a lack of faith. If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain: move from here to there — and nothing will be impossible for you.

Faith is not silent. It is not possible to have faith and see a mountainous situation and be quiet. No matter the size of the faith you feel you have — speak. Every time you speak, because you have been given the authority, you will see manifestations.

From Hebrews 11:32-34 — who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, gained what was promised, shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, escaped the edge of the sword, whose weakness was turned to strength, who became powerful in battle. Faith enables the exercising of The Authority.

This Kind Goes Out by Prayer and Fasting

Jesus said to them: however, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting. Looking closely at this: when the disciples asked why they could not cure the boy, Jesus said: because of your unbelief. So this kind that does not go out except by prayer and fasting is the lack of faith itself — faithlessness. Not the demon alone; the condition of unbelief.

Prayer and fasting positions you to receive Clarity from God.

• It starves the flesh and fixes your focus on Jesus.
• It quietens your spirit so you can pick signals from God.
• It puts you in a stillness where you can hear very clearly.
• It stirs up faith in you — because faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word.

From Acts 13:1-3 — while they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said: set apart for me Barnabas and Saul. It was in that stillness of prayer and fasting that the Holy Spirit spoke and gave clear direction. They got Clarity — not just a prayer list answered, but a direction that shaped a movement.

Fasting is not primarily to gain power for miracles. It is to stay in God's presence, draw from him, and hear him clearly. When you commune with the Holy Ghost in that way, your antenna goes on alert. You pick signals easily. You know what per-time to say, what approach to take. Not all cases are the same — but all are commanded in one name. The direction comes from God, and only a tuned spirit can receive it.

The world is so noisy. You need to be still. One of the ways is to fast, pray, and study. The Bible says draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Fasting is not: God, let Deliverance happen. It is: Lord, help me to stay in your presence. Help me to hear. Help me to draw from you. And from that place of drawing, the supernatural flows.

Walking It Out Practically

The supernatural life is built step by step. One of the most important things is to start. Even if you are unsure — start. Your boldness increases as you move. You graduate from one level to another.

Do not always wait for the pastor. If someone near you is sick, lay your hands and pray. If you sense something is wrong with a person, speak to it. If the Holy Spirit prompts you, respond. As you act, you will grow — and you will see that what once seemed too difficult for you is now within your reach.

Proximity without action will always disappoint. The disciples had watched Jesus — but they did not act in faith when it mattered. Those who study and watch carefully, and then put what they have seen into practice, even if one step at a time, discover that the supernatural begins to flow through ordinary moments.

Your life is hidden in Christ. You have been raised with him. There is a power in you. There is an authority given to you. Exercise it.
