How to Receive Healing Into Your Body

1. God wants to heal you

1. Exodus 15:26

   "I am the Lord who heals you," Jehovah Rapha.

   Exodus 23:25

   He will take sickness away from the midst of you.

   Jeremiah 30:17

   I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds.

   Romans 8:32

   He who did not spare his own son, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? If healing is a spiritual gift, and God gives good gifts to his children, then healing is a manifestation of him being a good father.

   John 10:38

   Believe me for the works that I do. Miracles are earthly tokens for spiritual realities, they bear witness of the godship of Jesus. And healing also shows the benevolence of God.

   Acts 10:38

   God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil. That word "good" means philanthropy, giving, helping the needy. Healing is God showing his nature as good, not people deserving it. Our wickedness cannot make God wicked. We were made in his image, we shouldn't make him in ours.

   Matthew 4:23, Matthew 9:35

   Jesus went about healing every sickness and every disease among the people. Every means every, so if he healed all, he wants to heal all.

   Acts 20:9-10

   Paul raised Eutychus after he fell from the third story. Peter also worked healings, in Acts 3:1-10 the lame man at the beautiful gate, in Acts 5:14-16 healing through his shadow, in Acts 9:32-35 the healing of Aeneas, and in Acts 9:36-42 the raising of Tabitha.

2. God is willing to heal me

2. Faith is not understanding that God can, faith is understanding that God will.

   Genesis 20:17

   Abraham prayed and God healed Abimelech, his wife and his female servants. This is the first mention of healing in the Bible. God initiated healing, nobody begged him for it, that in itself is willingness.

   Matthew 8:2-3

   "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." Jesus said, "I am willing," and touched the leper, though lepers were not supposed to be touched.

   Matthew 14:14

   He was moved with compassion for them and healed their sickness. He healed all, for free.

   Psalm 103:2-3

   Bless the Lord, who forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases. The same confidence we preach for salvation, that once you confess Jesus you are 100% saved, is the same confidence we must preach for healing. We can't doubt healing today and believe it tomorrow.

3. The doctor's report is not an evil report

3. Numbers 13:33

   What made the ten spies' report evil was not that they described giants in the land, it was that they said, "We were like grasshoppers in their sight." An evil report doesn't relegate the problem, it disbelieves God's word concerning it. A good report, like Joshua and Caleb's, acknowledges the giants but believes God's word is greater.

   Mark 11:23

   Whoever says to this mountain. If you're speaking in faith, you have to be speaking to something specific, like Jesus speaking to the storm, David speaking to Goliath. The doctor's report names the mountain you are speaking to, so you're not shadow boxing. It gives precision on what to target.

4. Why doesn't healing happen every time

4. People don't understand the difference between healing and working of miracles.

   Working of miracles (1 Corinthians 12:9-10): instant, a suspension of natural laws, creative, often tied to the faith of the minister, not the receiver.

   Healing: gradual in process, tied to the faith of the receiver.

   Luke 17:14

   The ten lepers were cleansed as they went, a process.

   The blind man at Bethsaida was healed in two stages, first seeing men as trees, then clearly.

   2 Kings 20:5

   God told Hezekiah, "I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord." A three-day process.

   Healing is a spiritual gift, not feeling based. There is a moment the word is released, and a waiting period where your faithfulness to that word is what carries you to the manifestation. Naaman had to wash seven times, not six.

   Mark 5:34

   "Your faith has made you well." Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

   John 5:39-40

   Search the scriptures, they testify of me, but you are not willing to come to me that you may have life. Reading of others being healed testifies of Jesus, it provokes you to come to him for your own.

8 Ways People Received Healing in the Gospels

• The woman with the issue of blood touched his garment, Matthew 9:21
• The centurion said, "Speak the word only," for his servant
• Jairus said, "Come and lay your hands on my daughter"
• Four men broke the roof to lower their friend down for a touch
• The blind man was told, "Go and wash in the pool of Siloam," obedience to an instruction
• The man with the withered hand was told, "Stretch out your hand," acting on Jesus's command
• The man at the pool was told, "Rise, take up your bed," John 5
• Blind Bartimaeus cried out until Jesus turned, a prayer of mercy

Each person heard something specific about Jesus and acted on it, and that is what the Bible calls their faith. So the question is not why hasn't God healed me, but what have I heard and what am I acting on.

Don't Lose the Healing

Symptoms are not the proof of healing, faithfulness to the first word you heard is. A lady's genotype changed from SS to AS at a prayer program and she was free of crisis for ten years. When she later took a new test and found it still read SS, that night she had crisis for the first time in a decade. What God had done was help her mind see herself as healed. The moment she embraced that crisis could still happen to her, it did. The miracle is not a change in a document, it is divine health.

Mistakes to Avoid

1. Other people's experiences are not yours. Everybody touched Jesus, but the woman with the issue of blood touched differently, and Jesus said, "Who touched me?"
2. Miracles are also in instructions. Naaman would not have been healed if he only washed six times.
3. Never speak death over your life after you have received the word. A man who had said all his life, "I will never live to see forty," fell into a coma when Kenneth Hagin and others prayed for him. God told Hagin, "Spiritual laws have been set in motion and cannot be reversed at this time." What you say over your life is more important than any prayer anyone can pray for you.

Numbers 14:27-31

God said, "You will have what you say." If God says you will live and you say you will die, it's what you said that he will do.
