God is not slack concerning his promises. It will still come to pass

Revelation of God as Lord

A deeper layer of revelation about God as the Lord

Psalm 24:1, Psalm 24:8

The King of glory is called the Lord

What makes our worship and our service potent and life-giving is the revelation of the one we worship

What gives life to your worship is not just the singing, the words, the melody or the artistry. It is the depth of revelation that sponsors all that you do

It matters that we have a deep revelation of who God is and what it means for him to be Lord Revelation 19:6

3 ways to know God

For anyone who desires a functional knowledge of God, the Bible provides three channels or dimensions to the knowledge of God

1. Study his nature and his attributes

   When we learn his nature and his attributes, it enhances our knowledge of God

2. Study his wisdom or his principles

   We study his ways. Moses said, "Show me your ways," and then, "Show me your glory" Exodus 33:13, Exodus 33:18

3. Study his works or a display of his power

   Paul prays over the church in Ephesus Ephesians 1:19

We learn God by studying his nature and attributes, his ways and wisdom, and the extent of his power

The nature of God: exclusive and shared attributes

Exclusive attributes of God are the attributes he did not share with man. They brand him uniquely in a class all by himself. There are six of them

We are partakers of his divine nature 2 Peter 1:4. That is a fact from scripture. But it is not every attribute of God that he shared with man

For example, God is omnipotent, man is not omnipotent. God is omniscient, man is not omniscient

6 exclusive attributes of God

1. God is eternal

   The Bible uses the expression everlasting. Eternal means no beginning and no end

   For man, we have what we call our lifetime. It is the summation of your time from birth as recorded until the day you transit

2. God is self-existent

   Yahweh is God's personal, official name and translated means the self-sufficient one, the self-existent one

   He does not need anything outside himself to maintain himself

3. God is immutable

   He is unchanging Malachi 3:6

4. God is omnipresent

   He is everywhere at the same time. His manifested presence is not everywhere, but he is everywhere as God Psalm 139:7

5. God is omniscient

   All knowing. Man sees in part and prophesies in part 1 Corinthians 13:9

   God does not improve. God does not increase. God cannot be mentored. He cannot learn

   When he became a man, he learned and he grew. But as God, there is no possibility of learning

   God cannot be shocked by any information. There is nothing you would tell God that makes him say, "Wow, this is a new revelation"

6. God is omnipotent

   He has all power. Man does not have all power. Man has a jurisdiction beyond and outside which the use of power becomes illegal

   But God has all power. Power exclusively belongs to God Psalm 62:11

Shared attributes: attributes God decided to share with man

• God is spirit. Man is also spirit
• God is light. We are also light and salt
• God is holy and calls us to be holy
• God is love and beckons us to demonstrate love
• God is good. Man can be good
• God is merciful. We are called to be merciful just like he is
• God is faithful. We are called to be faithful stewards 1 Corinthians 4:2

Two Hebrew words translated Lord

Adon or Adoni

The owner, the legitimate owner, legitimate master or legitimate controller. It demonstrates headship or authority

Sarah called her husband Lord. The word Lord there is not worship. It was a description of headship or authority 1 Peter 3:6

Yahweh (YHWH is the original spelling)

God's personal name. It was such a sacred word. Yahweh means the self-existent one

Exodus 6:3

He revealed himself to Abraham as El Shaddai, but by his name Yahweh (Jehovah in certain renditions) he had not revealed himself to Abraham

In ancient times it was holy and sacred and was not even spoken aloud. They only called that name once a year, at the time of atonement, Yom Kippur

God has several dimensions. He is king, father, almighty and creator, and he chooses to reveal these dimensions. Here we are considering his lordship

Scriptures that validate the sovereign power and lordship of God

Psalm 24:1 to Psalm 24:2

Isaiah 46:9 to Isaiah 46:10

He is Lord indeed

1 Chronicles 29:11

Isaiah 40:28 to Isaiah 40:31

Look at the names: the everlasting God, the Lord, the creator of the ends of the earth

All of these scriptures show and validate the sovereign power and the lordship of God

5 reasons we acknowledge God as Lord

1. He is the only eternal, self-existent God

   1 Timothy 1:17

   That is the first reason we call him Lord. He is not one of the many

   To be self-existent means no other factor contributes to your becoming or your remaining

   Man is not self-existent. We need oxygen, food and resources from our environment

   God is self-existent. Nothing needs to be added to him to make him God or maintain his existence. He is uncreated. He does not need any assistance from outside himself

   God has witnessed everything aside from himself, start and finish. The rise of kings, the rise of kingdoms, history

   He is the only true witness because he has evidence nobody else has. He watched the beginning start and finish because he is outside of the beginning

   Honor and glory to him for how long? Forever. Not for as long as he is alive. Forever

2. He created all things

   Revelation 4:11

   We call him Lord because he created all things, including your life

   He cannot create your life and be wondering what to do with it. There is a plan already for your life

3. He upholds all things

   Isaiah 42:5, Hebrews 1:1 to Hebrews 1:3, John 1:3

   He did not just create all things. He maintains everything he created

   Look what the Bible calls him: God the Lord. Not he and somebody. Not he and Satan. Not he and another government.

   Not he and another arrogant man on earth. Exclusively by himself

   You can create a thing and not be able to give it life. You can create a thing and not be able to sustain it. He did not just create, he maintains

   How many things does he uphold? All things. Every life, plant life. He is Lord because he upholds all things

4. He possesses infinite wisdom and understanding

   Isaiah 46:10, Psalm 147:5

   Not superior wisdom. Infinite wisdom

   His understanding is not progressive. God does not learn. He does not need mentorship. He does not increase. The idea of increase is foreign to God

   Some of us, by the mercies of God, have been granted access to see and say things before they happen.

   But even the best of us cannot see the end exclusively from the beginning

   For God, there is no such thing as tomorrow. Tomorrow is a reality he created to help man understand his walk with him

   He is Alpha Omega, not Alpha and Omega. He is here today, he is still in yesterday, he is already in tomorrow, he is even at the end of time

   Isaiah 55:8 to Isaiah 55:9

   Romans 11:33

   That revelation is what sponsors strength and audacity

   He can pour out of the abundance John 1:16.

   Your little frail mind can receive something eternal, something weighty, something powerful, and you become a manifestation of wisdom beyond your age, beyond your level of understanding

   Job 32:8

5. All power belongs to him

   Psalm 62:11, 1 Chronicles 29:11, Ephesians 1:19, Jude 1:25

   All power was not given to him. He owns it. He did not rent it. He did not earn it. He did not win it. It belongs to him

   Not some power. Everywhere you see power, it was derived from him

   The power that works in principles came from him. The power released upon the saints came from him. The force that powers plant life and every other kind of life came from him

   God does not have authority. He cannot have authority. Authority is conferred by one higher than you and supervised by the one who conferred it

   Authority is the legitimacy to use power. It comes as instruction to guide you so that power is not abused

   As men, we have power and authority and the jurisdiction to use the power. But as God, he has power exclusively. Nobody guides him on what to do.

   Ephesians 1:11

   Nobody guides him. Who can tell him you are wrong? By what standard will you say he is wrong?

   If God decides to leave Joshua Selman, whether you are angry or not, by what standard will you rebuke him? He decided as an act of his will

Why the Bible calls Jesus Lord

That statement, Jesus is Lord, is very serious Psalm 110:1

Who said to who? Yahweh said to Adoni

Jesus is Lord. No question, no argument

Knowing God as Lord does 2 things to the believer

1. It provides the basis for unshakable faith and security

   The self-existent one, the all-powerful one, the all-wise one, the sustainer of all things is on my side. Not only is he on my side, he is my father

   I can fail alone. But me and God cannot fail together. He is the factor that insists I win

   When you find ordinary people winning through life, it is because God has decided to stand with them

   Because God is involved, you cannot fail

   There are no guarantees in life. The concept of guarantees is an aberration, because the person who gives you a guarantee must wake up for the guarantee to work

   The psalmist woke because the Lord sustained him Psalm 3:5

   I can tell you I will give you a job tomorrow. The question is, if I wake up. I can wake up and become a vegetable on that bed.

   It is not just an integrity issue, you don't have the capacity or the wherewithal. The self-existent one is by my side

   When you call him Lord, you are invoking all the powers that back up his dominion. You are saying, because he is on my side, I cannot fail

   Unshakable faith is not arrogance, it is settled confidence. If God tells you go, you know he is backing you

   We are able to do what we do for the kingdom not because we are sufficient in ourselves. We are found by mercy and by grace

   When God decides to back a man, he invests his power, his jealousy, his attention

   People will look at you and look at your results, and they will not match. It will be clear that there is a hand beyond you moving you

   There is a hand beyond you driving possibilities in your life in the name of Jesus Christ

   They saw the apostles. They looked ordinary, nothing special. But their results were extraordinary because the Lord was walking with them. That was the secret Acts 10:38

   A revelation of his lordship gives you unshakable confidence and security. You are able to face the future with confidence

   Our world is full of fear because of what happens economically, politically and security-wise. But he is still seated on the throne

   God is not scratching his head wondering what to do with us. He has seen the end already from the beginning

   Testimony

   Many years ago, when God began to show me some of these days, they looked almost impossible. I don't know if I believed myself, but I know I believed him and that was enough

   Here we are, watching with humility the things he has done, and to know that this is only the first step out of the cave. There are greater, better, bigger

   By this revelation, I come against the spirit of fear, of doubt, of uncertainty. That devil that tells you that you cannot amount to anything, even when you do not believe yourself, believe in him

2. It brings a demand upon you for total submission

   You cannot say he is Lord over your life unless there is submission and surrender, functionally. Submission to his values, his will, his instructions

   Luke 6:46

   The moment you talk about him being Lord, there is a doing

   His lordship represents his government. His government seeks to find expression in your heart, your mind, your body and your environment

   Knowing and receiving him as Lord means you have submitted your everything to his authority and influence

   This is beyond being born again. It takes understanding him as savior to receive salvation.

   But for him to be Lord, you have to submit your will, your appetites, your desires, and bring everything under his governing influence

   Many believers profess him as Lord, but in reality he is truly not Lord in their lives

   The proof that he is Lord is that you can give up your will Luke 22:42. That is the language of submission

   If you desire to go left but the Lord says go right, you trust his thoughts towards you Jeremiah 29:11

   Yieldedness and submission to him is proof that you trust him

   When you fail to trust him, a part of you does not agree that he means you well.

   There is a suspicion within you that he can damage your life, your plans and your destiny, so you follow the way of rebellion

   There are many believers who cannot do much for the kingdom because we live in fear. We are obsessed with guarantees. We trust men more than we trust God.

   It is because we have not had a revelation of his lordship

   You have trusted things of lesser value and given them your time, your attention, your energy, your effort

   He is calling you to redeem the time Ephesians 5:15 to Ephesians 5:16

   The way you redeem the time is to know the will of God on time, so that you don't take your journey by yourself and later turn back knowing you were wrong

   The way to do it is to submit to his lordship, trusting his wisdom to guide you

   There is a way that seems right to a man of God, right to a businessman, right to a career person. Proverbs 14:12

   I have seen the futility of trusting our own wisdom

   Proverbs 3:5 to Proverbs 3:7

   In all your ways, not some, every aspect of your life

   Wise in your own eyes. That was the challenge with Eve

   When you call him Lord, it is because he is the king that governs the universe

Declarations of the throne

Every trouble, before it came, God was already on the throne

Every challenge, every mountain, every bill, everything that gives you sleepless nights: there is a king upon the throne. He is my father

I don't know how things will resolve, but because he is seated on the throne I already know the end is peace. I already know the end is victory

The story is not over until I am victorious

As simple as this revelation is, it can release you into a realm of exploits

It started by faith from a room. The reason it succeeded was because the Lord decided to back it and turn that seed into a giant oak tree

The Lord is a creator, a maker. He made the whole earth. He can make your life

It does not take him too long. It only takes your yieldedness, and he turns a sign and a wonder out of you

The most important message is that you must submit to his lordship. This is beyond being born again

My God will direct his jealousy towards you and begin to lift you in a fearful way, a way that may seem unfair, but because the Lord is the one doing it

God will open strange doors, doors of opportunity. Doors to the nations, doors of wealth, doors of wisdom. Receive it in the name of Jesus

• Father, in the name of Jesus, I submit to your lordship. I submit to your governing influence
• Be Lord over my heart. Be Lord over my mind. Be Lord over my body. Be Lord over the works of my hands

Submit to his governing influence and watch the wonder he makes out of your life

• Let Hallelujah festival not end with me still being in rebellion to your government, to your values, to your ways
• I give up my own ways. I give up my own strategy
• Be Lord over my mind, my heart, my body, my business, my home, my plans
• You have the power to alter my plans as you will. I trust you. No arguments
• Take away unbelief from my life

Audacity that comes from revelation

We are entering the era of the glory of the church. It will require men and women who know God

You will stand before mountains and dare them to the face.

Men will mock you while you are on your journey, and you will watch mountains crumble before you because of the God who backs you

Goliath said, "Am I a dog, Israel? You bring this small boy to fight me?" 1 Samuel 17:43

If I were David, I would quietly go back and rethink.

But David said, you come against me with your spear and your bows, but I come against you in the name of the Lord, the sovereign one

I will use my sling and bring you down, then use your own sword to take off your head 1 Samuel 17:45, 1 Samuel 17:49 to 1 Samuel 17:51

That is audacity that comes from revelation

There are many of you who will get into business circles. There are pastors and ministers. It is time to move to another level

This is beyond ambition. This is capacity to do much for the kingdom

Deuteronomy 2:3

For someone, God is saying, well done, but we need to go higher

1 Samuel 21:8

Begin to serve the purposes of God at a higher level with greater impact

Let the spirit of faith be imparted upon you. I bind the spirit of fear

Faith to move mountains. Faith to believe God to the end. Faith to do great things for the kingdom. I release that grace upon you

Psalm 125:1

There is too much fear in the body of Christ. Fear of opinions, fear of failure, fear of what people will say. While we are there negotiating our destinies, we keep failing

A very big God

There is a song that says, "I have a very big God." What have you done with that big God? Small things. Very small things

We are underutilizing his grace, his wisdom, his power. Don't just sing that song. Walk that song. Show the nations you have a very big God

When Moses met a very big God, he moved mountains and brought over 2.5 million people out of Egypt

There are businesses here, it is time to go to the next level. There are ministries, it is time to go to the next level

Don't over-celebrate where you are. You have exhausted that level

It is good to be grateful for where you are, but there are heights and dimensions God is calling us to. There are places and responsibilities he wants to give us as ministers

Until you have a revelation of his lordship, you will not have the strength to drive that assignment to the end

Impartation

The more I grow in God, the more I get out of religion and drama and a lot of church things

I don't waste words. I fear God and I understand the power of prophetic words

It is out of the mercy of God, out of the little we have received, that we give

You can't give what you don't have Acts 3:6. If the grace is not there, you can't give it

Isaiah 9:8

There is a stretching for someone. There is a holy anger in my heart over someone's destiny

You are receiving something by mercy that will redefine your possibilities

You are underutilizing the bigness of God. We keep singing a very big God but we are not able to do much

Soul winning, not impactful enough. Transformation, not impactful enough. Building great things for the kingdom

I tear that veil by the power of the Holy Spirit. Grace will rest on you. Oil will come upon your head in the name of Jesus Christ

• I receive and manifest your power and your wisdom till the nations see Jesus lifted up

I pray over you a dimension of wisdom you have never experienced. Let it rest upon you now

Supernatural wisdom and understanding. Capacity to comprehend spiritual things. Capacity to understand the laws of life and destiny

A baptism of the spirit of faith that drives out fear and empowers you to do exploits for the kingdom. Receive it now in the name of Jesus

Grace for favor

There is such a thing as God helping a man

Over your business, over your ministry, over your family, let the grace for favor rest upon you now

Unusual access. Unusual acceptance. Unusual reception

Grace for visibility

Just because you are gifted does not mean your generation will pay attention to you. We have this illusion that just because you have gifts and talents, everybody will listen to you

Live long enough, you will know that does not apply all the time. I believe in value. I believe in productivity

But there is a grace for visibility that grants you access to the attention of your generation

Men will not pay attention to you just because you have something to say.

You can be truthful, valuable, a man of integrity, and the generation can decide as an act of their will that you are not important to their life

There is a grace that can come upon a man Matthew 17:5

Jesus went to the mountains and everybody came, because there was a verdict to hear him

Let the grace for visibility, the grace to be heard, the grace to be taken seriously, the grace to be honored, rest upon your life in the name of Jesus

Grace for signs and wonders

Genesis 21:1, Genesis 21:6

Congratulations is under the department of signs and wonders, where God circumvents natural laws and insists on you until his glory is birthed in your life

That is the realm where you don't see wind, you don't see rain, yet your valley is filled with water. The realm where five loaves and two fish can feed 5,000.

The realm where Lazarus can come back to life

Put your name there

Congratulations. You have seen the glory of God. He has done it for you. You will come back with a new song to sing

Good news every day. Good news for the remaining part of the year

The grace that turns water to wine. The grace that makes five loaves and two fish feed 5,000 people. The grace that makes a rod to bud without root

Let that grace for signs and wonders be released. Congratulations in the morning, in the afternoon, in the night. Congratulations every day of the week. November, congratulations. December, congratulations

For someone, what God will do in one week will be like January to October together

They will say, the Lord has done great things for you Psalm 126:2 to Psalm 126:3

Good news from afar. Good news from around you. Good news from outside this nation

The Lord reigns over every challenge, every turbulence. The Lord reigns over your pain, your tears, your shame, your disappointments

May your night be turned to day. May your weeping be turned to rejoicing. For the spirit of heaviness, receive the garment of praise Isaiah 61:3

Make it right with Jesus

My assignment is not complete until I give someone an opportunity to make it right with Jesus

The Bible calls him the way, the truth and the life John 14:6. Philippians 2:11

You have enjoyed the worship, the singing, the shouting, the rejoicing. And there is a void within your heart. There is a cry within your spirit.

You need Jesus not just as healer, not just as the one who gives breakthrough, but right now as savior

Acts 2:36, Acts 2:41

Your real blessing is in your decision. Your decision to receive him as savior, as Lord and as Christ

Run to Jesus. He gives you a new beginning right here, right now

You are not ashamed of him. He will not be ashamed of you before his Father and the holy angels

Let this be your moment for a miracle to make Jesus Lord over your life

• Lord Jesus, I have heard your word
• I declare that I love you with all my heart
• I believe you are the Son of God. I believe you died for my sin. I believe you rose again for my justification
• Right now I receive your life into my spirit
• I declare that you are my savior, my Lord and my king
• The power of sin, hell and the grave is broken over my life, from now and forever
• I am a child of God, washed by the blood of the Lamb. I go forward ever and backward never

• Father, thank you. Your word declares that as many as come to you, you will in no wise cast away
• These ones have come declaring your lordship. By the authority of your word, I declare their sins forgiven

John 6:37

They are bona fide recipients of your life, and the grace to live the victorious Christian life I impart upon you. You will go forward only and backward never
