God's Original Design Was Abundance

In the Garden of Eden, God planted everything before he placed Adam in it. Adam was not working to survive. He was working to fulfill purpose. Of all the trees of the garden, he could freely eat. Scarcity was not part of the original design.

It is a curse that you now have to toil to eat. God's original design was abundance — and that design has not changed.

Genesis 2:9

The very nature of God as a father confirms it. If you, being evil, know how to give good things to your children — how much more shall your heavenly Father give good things? This is not a spiritual metaphor. It is a declaration about material provision.

The Abrahamic Covenant: Blueprint of Blessing

Genesis 12:2-3, Genesis 13:2

God told Abraham: I will make you a great nation. I will bless you. I will make your name great. And you shall be a blessing. The principle is clear: you cannot give what you do not have. You cannot be a blessing if you are not blessed.

Genesis 13:2 — Abraham was extremely rich in livestock, silver, and gold. Not moderately comfortable. Extremely rich.

This is the same covenant extended to you. Galatians 3:29 — if you are in Christ, you are Abraham's seed, and an heir according to the promise.

Poverty Is Part of the Curse Christ Redeemed Us From

Galatians 3:13

When Adam sinned, three things entered: spiritual death, sickness, and poverty — toiling to eat, the ground bringing forth thorns. These were the core expressions of the curse.

Christ became a curse for us. The crown of thorns he wore on his head was a literal picture: he was bearing the curse of poverty — the thorns God said the ground would bring forth — on his own head so we would never have to carry it.

The New Covenant Is Better

Hebrews 8:6

Jesus obtained a more excellent ministry as the mediator of a better covenant established on better promises. Better means better — in comparison to what came before. And nobody disputes that the Old Covenant guaranteed wealth and health. If the New Covenant is better, it cannot offer less.

An iPhone 17 does not have fewer features than an iPhone 8. It has everything the previous version had — and more. The new covenant is the iPhone 17 of God's promises.

Poverty is not your portion. Abundance is your inheritance. Enforce it.

Inspiring Quote

Sermon

"One symptom of backsliding is that you begin to look down on the simple things that keep you on fire, calling a devotional 'just milk.' It's not about the information, it's about the consistency."

- Apostle Emmanuel Iren
