The Universal Need for Help

No matter who you are, no matter what level you are at in life, there is something you will always need. It is called help. Help makes things easier. Help makes things better. It is that which supports, assists, or aids in achieving something.

You and I need help. And it is important for us to know the sources of the help available to us. Most people do not get the help they need because they do not know the sources and so do not tap into them.

Four Sources of Help

• Yourself. Unfortunately, many people do not help themselves. And many times, God cannot help you without you first helping yourself. Heaven helps those who help themselves. Some sisters are not helping themselves by maintaining the wrong relationship. Some brothers are not helping themselves by going to the wrong places and having the wrong friends. Some church members are not helping themselves by not paying their tithes — God says you have robbed him, and robbers are not treated well. The Bible says David encouraged himself in the Lord. Sometimes you must encourage yourself — there may not be anyone willing to give you hope tomorrow.
• Things — living and non-living. Moses used a rod and shut down the kingdom of Egypt. Samson used the jawbone of an ass to conquer the enemy. The microphone being used to preach is non-living, but it helps reach the congregation. Peter used a crowing rooster — the rooster crowing helped Peter see himself and quickly go out to repent.
• Others. One of the greatest untapped sources of help is other people. Many of us have irrelevant people in our lives. We need people who are relevant to our destiny — people who will provoke, motivate, challenge, and help us in the direction we are going. Jesus needed help from others — women washed his clothes, cooked his meals, and stood at the cross when the men had fled.
• God Almighty. Psalm 121:1-2 — I will lift up my eyes unto the hills. From whence cometh my help? My help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth. Psalm 46:1 — God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Why We Need God's Help

There are moments in life when your strength, wisdom, and connections are not enough. There is nobody able or willing to help you. Yet at that point of desperation, God arises suddenly with help from unexpected quarters. This is sudden help — strange helpers.

The help of God makes you get what you need quick and correct. It changes things for good. It puts things in the right place. It helps you recover what you have lost. It opens the heavens. It makes a way where there is no way. It turns your desert into a pool of water. It makes a way in the wilderness. It does for you what no man can do. It packages and rebrands your life. It makes you a candidate for uncommon testimony. It permanently saves you from trouble. It disrupts the agenda of the wicked for your life. It makes you manifest your purpose on earth. It gets you to where you are going faster.

The help you get from any other source is always limited. Man is an expert at letting people down. The most trusted can turn his back on you at the most critical moment. Bible say, give us help from trouble, for vain is the help of man.

What Is Sudden Help?

Sudden help is the supernatural response of God that cancels years of struggle in a moment.

Strange helpers are divinely positioned men or women placed to help you. Whatever situation you find yourself in, you do not know them. There are no strings attached. You have never helped them before. They may even be unbelievers — but they are sudden helpers.

The daughter of Pharaoh was a strange helper to Moses. Joseph was in prison one night and by sudden help was sent for. Elijah and the widow of Zarephath — God used a poor widow to sustain Elijah during a famine. Peter at the beautiful gate allowed a lame man to receive sudden help.

Sudden help comes unexpectedly. It comes when human efforts have failed. It can be bigger than your prayers. It manifests when God says your time has come. It damages long delays. It appears when men are at their wit's end — raised from unlikely, unknown, unexpected places.

God sends sudden help and strange helpers to show that he is the God of all flesh. He sends them to accelerate your journey, to prove that no man can stop his agenda, to glorify his name in your life.

A Personal Testimony

From a very poor home, the school fees at the University of Lagos was 16 naira — and the family had to borrow. Coming out with a first class, there was a need to proceed with studies but no money, no helper.

There was a commonwealth scholarship. The forms were submitted late. At the ministry of education in Lagos, the receptionist rejected the form — it had closed two months ago. Standing at the door, confused and worried, a messenger passed by on his way to buy food for his boss. He stopped. He asked why the sadness.

The messenger said, the person in charge of that form is my boss. Wait here. When he came back, he said follow me. He took the matter to his boss, knelt down, and said, this is my brother. He wants to submit a scholarship form. He's bringing it late.

That boss did not even look up. He said, put it there.

That is how the commonwealth scholarship was obtained. Sudden help. Strange helper.

How to Attract Sudden Help

• Pray and cry to God. Psalm 34:6 — this poor man cried and the Lord heard him. Blind Bartimaeus cried out on that one day Jesus passed by — the only time Jesus was going that way. If he had kept quiet, he would have died blind. Jesus never passed through that place again; he was on his way to the cross.
• Obey divine instruction. Elijah obeyed God and went to Zarephath. That obedience connected him to his strange helper.
• Be faithful in small things. Joseph was faithful before God remembered him in prison. Faithfulness in little things positions you for sudden help.
• Violent faith. He that cometh to God must believe that he is and is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. The one who doubts should not think he will receive anything from the Lord.

• Where is the God of Elijah? Arise. Send me sudden help in the name of Jesus
• Power of destiny delay — I am not your candidate, die in the name of Jesus
• Help that terminates old battles — look at me now in the name of Jesus
• Help from unexpected quarters — come to me now in Jesus name
• Helper diverters — you are dead in the name of Jesus
• This year 2026, I receive sudden help. I receive strange helpers in the name of Jesus

Where is the Lord God of Elijah? Use anyone, anywhere, anytime to help me in the name of Jesus. Divine intervention is coming your way. The Lord will arise for your sake. The Lord will address every source of your tears and bring you help from where you do not expect it.
