The Theme

1 Samuel 30:8

And David inquired at the Lord, saying, "Shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them?" And the Lord answered him, "Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all."

Psalm 18:37

"I have pursued mine enemies and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed."

Deuteronomy 28:7

"The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way and flee before thee seven ways."

Isaiah 10:27

"And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing."

Poverty is a terrible yoke. Poverty can push people into what they normally will not do. Poverty will make a man behave as if he is mad.

All these yokes — their worst enemy is the anointing.

What Is the Anointing?

• Anointing is supernatural enablement for victory.
• Anointing is spiritual oil resting on a person for a purpose.
• Anointing is power that breaks yokes, that removes burden, that breaks human limitations.
• Anointing is God's presence made active in a life.
• Anointing is the ability to do what your natural strength cannot do.
• Anointing is equipment for spiritual assignment.
• It is the force of divine acceleration falling upon you.
• It is the fire of God resting on your vessel.

Jesus said when a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger one comes, he will plunder. When a greater power comes against a lesser power, as a matter of necessity, the lesser power must bow.

You must carry something. That something you must carry is the anointing.

What It Means to Pursue

• To pursue is to chase after something intentionally.
• To pursue is to follow that thing with determination.
• To pursue is to aggressively seek recovery.
• To pursue is to overtake something that ran ahead.
• To pursue is to confront what is running away from you with something that belongs to you.
• To pursue is to chase with speed and urgency.

Who Are the Pursuers?

Your pursuers are spiritual forces opposing your destiny, resisting your progress. They include:

• Territorial spirits
• Spirits of delay
• Spirits at the edge of success
• Envious witchcraft
• Household wickedness
• Demonic agents assigned against someone's destiny
• Marine evil spiritual forces
• Spirits of confusion, fear and intimidation
• Satanic systems resisting promotion and elevation

Let it be known to you that you do not have to offend anybody before the enemy begins to attack you. That is why the Bible calls them the wicked. You have not offended them. They just hate you without any reason.

There are generational barriers. Nobody in your family has passed this barrier. Can't go further. The tragedy of life is when a baby is robbed. Somebody has stolen something from a man when he was a baby. Even those that stole it are dead. Do you see that prayer to pursue pursuers is a strong prayer, because the power of God is able to pursue the pursuer to the grave?

Whether they hide in the sea, He can root them out. Whether they hide inside the mountains — the kind of prayers we must pray will go after them.

The Nature of the Anointing

You see what we call the anointing comes from God alone. It is not human talent. Not ability to speak grammar. Not oratory. Not natural ability. It is not emotional excitement.

But it comes from God. Fortunately, it is released through prayer. It is released by faith. It is released by violence. And so you must be ready to be aggressive.

The gentleman will say, "Okay, you have stolen it. Don't worry, be going. Get another one." The violent man will pursue.

Your power may be less. But with the anointing upon you, a lamb will kill a lion.

When you say the good fight of faith, it is the fight to get to the point where it is unwavering.
