The God of Mercy and Judgment
Tonight's subject is the God of mercy and judgment. Our objective is to understand our God of judgment and the conditions for his judgment on our behalf.
Psalm 136:17-20 declares that God slew famous kings, Sihon king of the Amorites and Og king of Bashan, and gave their land as a heritage, for his mercy endures forever. God is the God of mercy whose mercifulness causes him to fight on behalf of the candidates of his mercy. When the mercy of God is on your life, the enemies of your soul become the enemies of God. When God had mercy on mankind, he sent his Son Jesus into the kingdom of darkness to fight the devil and rescue mankind.
Examples of God Fighting on Behalf of His People
Abraham
Genesis 20:3-4A king tried to take Abraham's wife, but God came to Abimelech in a dream by night and said, "You are a dead man, because you have taken a man's wife." Abraham had not even prayed or reported the matter to God, yet God moved on his behalf.
Jacob
Genesis 31:24God's mercy on Jacob moved God to confront Laban on Jacob's behalf, warning him in a dream, "Take heed that you speak not to Jacob, either good or bad."
Israel
Exodus 14:14God's mercy on Israel activated his fight against Pharaoh and the host of Egypt. God told Moses, "The Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace." God fought until Pharaoh and the host of Egypt were buried in the Red Sea.
The Early Church
Acts 12:23-24God's mercy on the church in the days of the apostles moved him to judge Herod, who stood against the destiny of the church and killed James. The Bible says the angel of the Lord smote Herod because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten of worms and gave up the ghost. Afterward, the word of God grew and multiplied.

Who Are the People God Fights For?
People who are separated to God
They are separated from ungodly companies, lifestyles, and habits. God told Abraham, "Come out of your father's house, from your kindred, from everything." Abraham's father's house was an idolatrous household, and God could not do great things in Abraham's life until he was separated from it. Addiction prevents dedication.
People who belong to God

It is possible for anyone to say, "I belong to God," but God knows those who are truly his. 2 Timothy 2:19 says the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal: the Lord knows those who are his, and let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity. A field that is not your own is not yours to defend; likewise, God is not obligated to defend a life that does not belong to him.
People who are sold out to God
They are ready to go all the way with God, the way Christ went all the way to Calvary for humanity. 2 Corinthians 5:15 says he died so that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and rose again. Many stop their journey halfway over little pressures, little temptations, or small compromises. Anybody who will not follow you to heaven should not be followed to hell.
People who are open to divine instruction
Many people want prayer and healing but do not want the word of God. A person who does not value God's word cannot expect God to take them seriously.
People who are obedient to divine instruction
God spoke, and Abraham moved. He did not argue or negotiate. He did not know where he was going, but he started the journey. This is why God made him a symbol of blessing.

A Prayer of Deliverance
- Father, I come before you today, and I apply for your mercy as I receive deliverance from every curse, every spell, every enchantment, every divination, every ancestral curse, every generational curse, every witchcraft curse, every occultic curse, every covenant, and every work of diabolism and manipulation. Every spiritual spouse, spirit children, masquerade spirits, ancestral spirits, and spirits of the dead, I reject you today in the name of Jesus. I receive deliverance and complete freedom from every addiction and from everything that has held my life down, in the name of Jesus.
Testimonies of Healing
Through the course of the service, testimonies emerged of deafness broken after years, in some cases more than forty years, restored hearing in both ears, healed asthma and breathing conditions, ulcers and stomach pain disappearing, cancers described as dried up to their roots, a ruptured middle ear repaired, thyroid growths deflating, an undescended testicle restored, and the sense of smell returning after decades of absence. Several who came in on crutches or in wheelchairs stood and walked.
Everything that was born with you that is not of God shall expire. Everything that is not working in your life shall work. Every door you are trusting God to open, whether the door of your womb, your business, your ministry, or your career, the God who opened the deaf ears and dumb mouths tonight is opening it for you right now.
Closing Declaration Over the Land
- We anoint the ground of these communities in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. We declare the expulsion of every banditry, every terrorist, and every kidnapper in this territory, and we pray for the churches, the area council, and the traditional seat to succeed. Father, I live here with your light, with your fire, with your power, with fresh grace. I will not carry any sickness or any affliction back to my house. Every disease, every curse, every oppression on my life, you are buried here, in the name of Jesus.
