The Word of God Against Inherited Patterns

Ezekiel 18:1-4 — The word of the Lord came: "What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge?" God declared: "As I live, ye shall not have occasion anymore to use this proverb." Whatever went wrong in the life of your ancestors is no longer automatically transferable to you. Whatever covenant was entered before you were born, whatever your grandparents did on your behalf — God said: no more. That proverb ends here.

Eight Signs That an Evil Pattern Is Operating

1. Repeated Cycles of Failure Despite Effort

   Haggai 1:6 — "You have sown much and brought in little. You eat but have not enough. You drink but are not filled. You earn wages to put into a bag with holes." Walking like an elephant but having nothing to show for it — that is a sign. I know what it means to labor and have nothing to show for it.

2. Unusual Delay or Denial of Good Things

   Ezekiel 12 says there shall be no more delay. When what is available to everyone somehow skips you — grants end just when it's your turn, scholarships close the moment you qualify, something always shifts just before you get there — that is a pattern worth addressing. The man at the Pool of Bethesda was there for 38 years. No one needs to wait that long. When Jesus came, healing was available. Don't wait for the stirring of the water when the River of Life is already present.

3. Strange Dreams of Bondage or Affliction

   Recurring dreams of being pursued, molested, or afflicted are not ordinary. If you notice a pattern of affliction in the dream realm — someone repeatedly coming against you, or being stuck in a previous season of your life — you need to pray tonight.

4. Sickness Without Medical Explanation

   The woman in Mark 5 spent twelve years and all her money on medical solutions, and the Bible says she grew worse — because it was not purely a medical problem. Jesus in Luke 13 called the spirit that had bound a woman for eighteen years a "spirit of infirmity." There are cases where doctors confirm nothing is wrong with either husband or wife, yet children are impossible. That is not natural. There is a spirit of infirmity involved.

5. Financial Leakage and Unexplained Loss

   Every time you try to build, something happens. The ship sinks. A government policy reverses. A fire breaks out — only in your shop. Armed robbers rob only your business. The money in a bag with holes. When this pattern repeats, it is a thief operating. The Bible says when the thief is caught, he must restore sevenfold. We are catching that thief tonight.

6. Family Pattern of Premature Death or Tragedy

   There was a curse of untimely death in my own family. My father died at 57. His elder brother died at 46. By the time I was born, none of my father's elder siblings were alive. All had died. God showed me in prayer that my grandfather had entered a covenant with a witch. My father was told the date he would die. He ran to demonic powers in Benin Republic and was given eleven more years — but those demons had a deal: within those years, he would bring others into the same covenant. People were dying like chickens. My elder brother had already been told he would die at 36.

   The Lord showed me exactly where those demons were located in my father's compound. He said, "Draw them. I will show you each one." When I was done, my younger brother woke from sleep at midnight, terrified, saying he had seen those exact creatures fleeing from the room where I had been praying and shouting, "Our secret is out!" So I said to them: I know where you are. I plead the blood. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.

   One morning I found a dead bird outside our compound — frightening to look at. I knew what it was. From that day, not one single person has died in my family. My brother who was supposed to die at 36 is heading toward 60. If God can break the curse of untimely death, He can break the curse of poverty, of stagnation, of unexplained sickness.

7. Constant Rejection

   Psalm 88:8 — "Thou hast put away mine acquaintances far from me." When people accept everyone but you — when things get close and fall away repeatedly without explanation, four times, five times — that spirit of rejection is ending tonight. Every veil the enemy has used to cover you from being seen by those who would help you is torn now.

8. Feeling Trapped or Stagnant

   Isaiah 43:19 — "I will do a new thing. I will make a way in the wilderness." The path of a just man is supposed to shine brighter and brighter. If you are on the same financial spot, the same marital spot, the same career spot after years of trying — that is not God's design. A body of water that does not flow begins to stink and breed disease. Progress must come. Even if you were crawling, you should have moved further than this.

   I heard of a pastor who shut his church and fasted for three days asking God why the church was not growing. On the third day, God said: "Arise and go outside." When he stepped out and looked back at the building, he saw a cloud of darkness covering it. He screamed at it: "Be rolled away like a carpet!" And before his eyes it rolled away. The church went from a few dozen to hundreds of thousands. He had to put his foot down. This stagnation is enough.

The Blood Ends Every Pattern

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us — for it is written, cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree — that the blessing of Abraham might come upon us. Whatever agreement was entered before you were born, whatever your parents did that is now speaking against your life — I declare it is enough. The proverb ends.

God's word through three instruments: the name of Jesus, the blood of Jesus, and the word of testimony. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. That is the combination.

The Covenant of Ease

Peter toiled all night and caught nothing. But when Jesus came into his boat, what looked impossible not only became possible — it became easy. The blessing of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow. You have toiled long enough.
