The key texts

Romans 4:18 to Romans 4:21, our major focus is verse 20

James 1:6 to James 1:8

My assignment is very simple. God is not a man that he should lie, neither the son of man that he should repent

Numbers 23:19

This absolves God of the responsibility for the failure of his word. You can never say about God, you said it and it did not happen

Isaiah 14:27, Hebrews 6:18

Two immutable things. It is impossible for God to lie

So if it is not happening, what is going on? Romans 4 and James 1 give us a glimpse

A diagnostic view at the seeming failure of God's promises will reveal that God had already unveiled what the likelihood of the challenge might be

Abraham staggered not

Romans 4:20

You may not understand what it means for a 100 year old man not to stagger

The Greek word is diakrino. It is the same word that describes wavering in James 1:6

So Abraham did not waver at the word of God

This is not to say Abraham felt right about the promise all the time. If so, the scripture is not consistent

Abraham laughed Genesis 17:17

At some point he said to God, let Ishmael live Genesis 17:18

At some point he asked God, is it this Eliezer of Damascus you are talking about, when you say you will make of me a great nation Genesis 15:2

The promises of God in Christ Jesus are yea and amen. The devil cannot stop the promise of God 2 Corinthians 1:20

Wavering is like a wave of the sea

James 1:6

There are three major ways you encounter waves. This is what your wavering is doing

1. Wind driven waves, the superficial

   When the wind hits the surface of the water, it raises ripples, and the ripples begin to create waves

   The first form of the wave hits the surface. It asks very superficial questions, not knowing there are things that lie beneath

   Did God say you will marry? How many months are remaining for the year to end? Did God say you will get it? That is superficial

   Sometimes what the devil attacks is the surface. He attacks your finance, that is just the surface. As far as you are still alive, that is the main thing

   He attacks your body, that is just the surface. As far as my mind is sound

   He attacks your relationship, that is just the surface

   Abraham did not waver. When the devil wants you to waver, he uses the wind to hit the surface

   Those who are worried about what is superficial, when there are things the supernatural can change, think their God is not on their side

   God cannot fail. What you are worried about is already settled

   Beyond the superficial, God is on your matter

   There are too many things you worry about and internalize when they are superficial. You are internalizing the pain

   If this thing has happened three times, it means there is no cycle anywhere. It is superficial

   Even though last week ended in uncertainty, even though last week you wanted to lose your mind, keep your heart on God

   It is not God that is the problem. You are letting superficial things affect destiny matters

   It is not what the devil is telling you it is. It is superficial.

   Reject that sign. It will not last.

   I prophesy to you, in 24 hours may the Lord reverse it.

2. The tides, season driven

   When the sun and the moon cause a bulge, it affects the ocean and creates the tides. These are the things that signal a change of seasons

   You say, Lord, I am facing a wavering, this thing is trying to shake me. And God says, you are misinterpreting what I am doing. I am changing your season, yet your faith is shaking

   Their heart is shaking, they are wavering, because they do not understand. It is a sign that your season is changing

   He did not say he will overturn once. The first time he overturned, it did not look like it. He said I will overturn a second time. He said I will overturn again Ezekiel 21:27

   Why did you see the first time and start shaking? Did he tell you he will stop at the first time?

   Whether it is wind driven or superficial or tide, seasons are changing. Do not let it waver you

   Season change can shake the mind. I won't lie

   Sometimes season change can be a change of job, a change of helpers. The person that made all these promises is no longer there, and your heart begins to shake

   And God says, where were they when I started blessing you?

   Every other thing is a variable

3. Underwater interruptions, from within

   This is when you have volcanic eruptions, an earthquake underwater, and it throws up waves. This is a tsunami

   This one is not on the surface. It is not tied to seasons. It is what is happening inside of you. It is the fear

   When the devil begins to panic you from within, everything he said to you about you is a lie

   • That nobody cares about you, it is a lie
   • That things always happen the way they happen, it is a lie
   • That you are a failure, it is a lie
   • That you should go ahead and do what others do, it is a lie

   James 1:7

   If I allow this wave, God said do not ever imagine you will receive anything

   There is a promise at your door but too many things are happening in this person. There is fear, there is trepidation, he is worried, he is anxious. And the Lord says, relax

Testimony: the twins

A woman pregnant with twins went to have her babies. Some things were not going well with the twins

As she gave birth, it was a stillbirth. The first twin came out dead. The second came out dead

They prayed all kinds of prayers. The babies were dead

The hospital said they were left with no option. They put the babies inside a carton, waiting for the husband to carry them

As soon as they handed the babies over to the man, as soon as they entered his hands, the babies began to cry

There are those who think you are not being heard. Lord, I have done everything, I have prayed this prayer. But there is a transition time

I saw this message and I knelt down and said, God, this is you again

What is going on within you? Relax. Leave it for he that sees you

Whether it is hitting what is superficial, that they do not like me, they hate me, they do not care, that is superficial

Or whether it is a season change you do not have control over. Seasons are changing. People are changing

It will hurt. It will pain. It would drop some tears watching you walk out of a relationship that brought you joy. It is okay

Or whether it is the undercurrent, the earthquakes and volcanic eruptions going on within you
