Psalm 90:12 - Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts onto wisdom.

The secret for trans-generational relevance. A mystery that controls the continuity of impact upon the life of men.

PHARAOH'S DREAM - GENESIS 41

Pharaoh dreamed of two sets of cows - seven fat and seven lean. The lean ones ate the fat ones and did not increase in size. Then seven good years of corn and seven blasted years - the blasted devoured the good.

Joseph's interpretation: The dream is one. The seven fat cows and good corn represent seven years of plenty. The seven lean cows and blasted corn represent seven years of famine. The plenty shall be forgotten by reason of the famine.

The dream was doubled because it is established by God and will surely come to pass. This is not something you can pray out of your life.

THE LAW OF SEASONS

In every man's life - born again or not - this law is applicable. There will always be seasons of plenty and seasons of leanness. No church, no politician, no government, no nation has one season forever.

Seasons of Plenty represent: Seasons of ease, abundance, and opportunity - opportunity to know God, maximize destiny, invest in your life.

Seasons of Famine represent: Moments of constraint, inconvenience, scarcity.

The Deception of Seasons: Seasons of glory make you believe you will never leave the stage. This has deceived men of God, politicians, and parents. The moment you see people celebrating you - remember one day the same people said "crucify him."

Seasons Come with Letters: Every dry season comes with a letter from the rainy season: "I am coming." Every rainy season comes with a letter from the dry season: "I am coming." If you receive the season but not the letter, you will be in trouble.

FOUR STAGES OF A MAN'S LIFE (25-year cycles)

1. Morning Stage (0-25) - The stage of investment. Life will forgive mistakes made here. By 25: you should have found Jesus, been filled with the Holy Ghost, mastered the keys of the kingdom, built strategic destiny relationships. This is the time for massive investment in your spirit - a prayer bank.
2. Afternoon Stage (26-50) - The stage of execution. If you are still learning at this stage, you are behind. This is the stage of maximum kingdom impact - like the sun shining brightest in the afternoon. The stage of walking in the fullness of purpose and assignment.
3. Evening Stage (51-75) - The stage of legacy. You are no longer trying to prove a point. This is when you build institutions that reflect your value - institutions prepared to outlive you. You turn back and begin to mentor, teaching from your mistakes.

4. Stage of Rest (75+) - Not death - rest. If you started completely at 75, you should almost be ready to finish your assignment. Billy Graham demonstrated this - a man who finished his assignment and was still alive.

JOSEPH'S ADVICE - FOUR KEYS

1. Key #1: Build Capacity

   Your first assignment during seasons of plenty is capacity. 2 Kings 4:1-6 - The woman had oil but the vessel was small. Oil alone does not give profit - it is oil with plenty vessels that equals profit.

   During seasons of opportunity - maximize them to build spiritual capacity, intellectual capacity. Build your prayer life, your word life, your time with God. Because seasons of leadership will bring responsibilities that remove the convenience you once had.

2. Key #2: Build Strategic Destiny Relationships

   Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 - Two are better than one. A threefold cord is not easily broken.

   Is there someone in your life right now you can honestly call for help no matter what time of day or night and they will get up and respond? If you don't have such a person, your life is in danger.

   Look at Jesus on the way to the cross - where were all the people who received miracles? Where were the disciples? They all ran. Only John stayed. Do not let circumstances choose your relationships - choose them with understanding.

   Your name can be a key or a padlock. Your lifetime decides which one. Be careful how you treat people - the person you look down on today may be the one who opens or closes a door for you tomorrow.

   Put a strict spiritual immigration officer around your life. Don't open the gates of your destiny to just anybody. Love everybody but don't relate with everybody. Beware of people who want relationships without changing their values.

3. Key #3: Selflessly Invest in Blessing and Transforming Lives

   1 Samuel 22:1-2 - David in the cave of Adullam. Everyone in distress, in debt, disenfranchised - they gathered to him. He became captain over 400 men.

   2 Samuel 23:8 - By the time of the mighty men of David, their names changed. Weak men became mighty men. David transformed them by selflessly investing in them.

   David longed for water from the well of Bethlehem. His mighty men broke through the Philistines to bring it. Don't expect loyalty from anybody you did not invest in.

   The key to trans-generational relevance: don't just impact a generation - grow with that generation. Laboriously invest in people. A day will come when the presidents of nations will be fruits of your apostleship.

   It is better to be kind than to be right. Right does not always mean success. But kind will always mean victory.

4. Key #4: Study and Follow Those Who Have Maintained Relevance

   Hebrews 6:12 - Be followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promise.

   When you stand before greatness, minimize contribution. Be a listener. It is the secret of receiving from the great. Sometimes in five minutes they will tell you something that will define the next 10 years of your life.

CONCLUSION

For Those Who Have Lost Seasons:

You may not be able to do anything about yesterday, but you can begin today to be intentional. The prophetic is able to take time back - "and I will restore the years."

Prayer for Restoration of Seasons:

For every season not utilized well - seasons of opportunity wasted due to ignorance or mistakes - in the name of Jesus, let there be restoration of seasons. May God give you another opportunity. May the Lord turn the hands of time for your sake.

Salvation Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I have heard your word. I declare that you are my Savior, you are my Lord, and you are my King. I receive forgiveness of sin. I receive the abundance of grace, even the gift of righteousness. And I declare that I reign in life from today. The power of sin, Satan, hell, and the grave is broken over my life.
