Understanding Revival

Revival is a reawakening to true spirituality, righteousness, and from spiritual dormancy. Ephesians 5:14

Three Levels of Revival:

• Personal Revival - individual reawakening
• Corporate Revival - Ezekiel 37:10, dry bones becoming an exceeding great army
• Territorial Revival - Jonah 3, entire nations transformed through genuine repentance

Three Areas of Study:

1. The Birthing of Revivals - How revivals ignite; ancient principles for sustainability
2. Why Revivals Die - Cities where mighty moves occurred now centers of idolatry
3. The Blessings of Revival - Spiritual, economic, technological transformation

The Tripartite Features of True Revival

Not every move of God can be called Revival.

1. Restoration of God-Consciousness - Through repentance, holiness, renewed love for Jesus
2. Multiplication of Believers - Acts 2: 3,000 saved in one day. Acts 2:42-47: "The Lord added DAILY." Not weekly, monthly - DAILY addition
3. Territorial Transformation - 2 Chronicles 7:14: When people humble themselves and pray, God heals their land. Principle: When people reject God, their territory rejects them

The Great Commission - Foundation for Revival

Genuine revivals that last are connected to the Great Commission: world evangelization, discipleship, territorial transformation.

If you do not understand the Great Commission, you can never experience genuine revival.

Why Most Don't Experience Revival: Deviation from the Great Commission.

The Purpose of Power

Acts 1:8 - "You shall receive power... you shall be witnesses unto me"

Power is given to fulfill the Great Commission, not for personal comfort.

The Current Problem

The subject of souls and harvest is seldom discussed. Personal prosperity has replaced the mandate.

You can pray and pray and miss - prayerful but ineffective, because the purpose is not tied to "Kingdom Come," just personal gratification.

John Knox cried: "Lord give me Scotland or I die." When it becomes about HIM and HIS program - THEN we are ready for revival.

The Great Commission is for ALL BELIEVERS - not just preachers, prophets, apostles.

The Transformation Process:

When the Holy Spirit works:

1. Releases you
2. Transitions you from Believer to Witness
3. Sends you → empowerment received
4. You become an agent of revival

Our deviation from the Great Commission is the reason we have not seen the move of God.

Show me a people passionately committed to Jesus's program beyond personal comfort - I show you a people ready for genuine revival.

If your entire Christian experience is about receiving things for personal comfort, you will not be an effective witness.

The Word: CONSUMED

When you become CONSUMED with passion to see the lost come home - THEN you can be trusted with grace for authentic revival.

Message to America:

To see power and glory return like the 1960s-70s, the limitation is NOT from God. He's ever ready. What's needed: AN ADJUSTMENT. Return to understanding the Great Commission.

Rebuilding the Altar

1 Kings 18:30 - Before calling down fire, Elijah rebuilt the altar of the Lord.

What This Means:

1. Set spiritual priorities right
2. Return to God's emphasis
3. Build passion for Jesus and His presence

Hunger as Proof of Health

Appetite is proof of health. If you are not hungry, you are not healthy.

America's Spiritual Condition

You think the spirits over America are that powerful? NO. It is the powerlessness of the saints that has made the spirits wreaking mayhem.

Signature of God Class: DOMINION

Elijah prayed, no rain for 3.5 years.

John 1:5 - "The light shineth in the darkness and the darkness comprehended it not."

When Evil Reigns: It's the ABSENCE OF LIGHT. What America needs is genuine fire.

Rebuilding the Altar - Practical Steps

Dead prayer lives need to come back. Dead word study lives need restoration. Spiritual carelessness needs addressing.

The Journey: Unbeliever → Witness

Stage 1: UNBELIEVER

Stage 2: BELIEVER - Carnal, spiritually ignorant

Stage 3: TRANSFORMED BELIEVER - Through discipleship, mind renewed

Stage 4: EMPOWERED BELIEVER - Empowerment validates transformation

Stage 5: WITNESS - Name changes. Jesus never called them witnesses until after Holy Ghost empowerment

People in the Room:

1. Unbelievers - Need relationship with Jesus Christ

2. Believers - Only saved, no spiritual understanding or growth. Luke 2:52 - All men can increase, become superior versions of themselves

3. Transformed Believers - Speak mighty things BUT no empowerment to prove it. Can educate spiritually but no engracing to give witness. Like the fig tree Jesus cursed - had leaves but could not deliver.

It's a terrible thing to know so much about God and not be able to give witness to the things you know.

There is an EXPERIENCE to the Christian faith.

Acts 8:5-8 - Philip in Samaria: People gave heed "HEARING AND SEEING the miracles."

Not just hearing. Christian faith is about hearing AND seeing. We need to SEE.

The Witness - Final Stage

When empowered, believer becomes a witness - envoy mandated to geographic locations, carrying the candle.

Why Revivals Die: THE HUMANITY OF MEN

Matthew 5 - "Neither do men light a candle..."

The candle carrying fire is frail. Fire burns, gives light, but also melts the candle. Eventually candle melts to point where cannot host fire again.

This has killed many revivals.

It's not enough to light the candle. You must know how to keep the candle strong.

Altar Call

Salvation Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I believe You are Son of God. You died for my sin, rose again for my justification. Right now I receive Your life into my spirit. Jesus is my Savior, my Lord, my King. Power of sin, Satan, hell, grave is broken. I am child of God, saved by blood of the Lamb. Forward ever, backward never.

Final Declarations

1. Hunger received tonight speaks immediately
2. Love and passion for Jesus restored
3. Angelic encounters tonight
4. Pray like never before
5. Study like never before
6. Wave goodbye to wrong relationships THIS NIGHT
7. Returning with strange testimonies and miraculous manifestations
