Understanding Unity's Power
Psalm 133:1-3 reveals a profound spiritual truth:"Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity".
The word "behold" means to see and conceive as a reality in your spirit—to use more than your eyes to relate with what is about to be said. This scripture teaches us that people can dwell together but not in unity. Unity is more than togetherness—it is agreeing in mind.
Two Expressions of Unity's Power:
- Like the Oil of Priesthood - It is like the precious ointment upon the head that runs down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard, down to the skirts of his garment. This introduces priesthood into the equation, teaching that the administration of any blessing cannot be outside of priesthood. When the oil comes upon the head of the priest, it flows from head to beard and eventually reaches every part connected to him.
- Like the Dew of Hermon - It is like the dew of Hermon that descends upon the mountains of Zion.
For there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life forevermore. "There" does not mean a physical location—it means that spiritual state. If you can pay the price to attain that spiritual state, God has commanded the blessing.
What is Life?
Life does not just mean the ability to breathe in and out. Life means every factor that allows for sustainability, continuity, and longevity of anything. Whatever needs to be in place to allow for the sustainability and longevity of anything is called life. If your business is dying, whatever needs to be there for it to be sustained is called life. The factor that makes for sufficiency, sustainability, and longevity of anything is called life.
Biblical Examples of Unity's Power
Genesis 11: The Tower of Babel
In Genesis 11:1-6, we see a powerful demonstration of what unity can accomplish—even without God's blessing. The whole earth was of one language and one speech. The people agreed together:"Let us build us a city and a tower whose top may reach unto heaven".

Here's what's remarkable: The Holy Spirit is not mentioned. Satan is not mentioned. All that is mentioned is the unity of a people. Yet they were about to do something that only God could stop.
Genesis 11:5-6: "The Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the children of men built." They had not started building physically—they only agreed it would be built. But what God was seeing in the realm of the spirit was a tower rising.
God's verdict:"Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language, and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do".
These people were not born again. They had not met Jesus. There is no expression of the Holy Spirit assisting them. They only came with the power of unity and said, "This is what we will do," and it took only God to destroy them.
Implication: If you restore the unity structure between husband and wife, husband and children—standing as a formidable force. The only power in existence that can stop you is God. The Bible says if you do something against your wife and disrupt that unity structure, even your prayers are hindered.
Acts 2: The Day of Pentecost
Acts 2:1: "When the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place."
Notice the scripture emphasizes "one accord"—not just "one place." This is the definition of unity. They can be in the same place and not be in one accord. The most important thing is the accord, not the place.
What happened next?Suddenly.
Suddenly always follows unity. Suddenly a job comes. Suddenly the pregnancy comes. Suddenly a new mantle comes upon the man of God—not just because you prayed and fasted alone, but because you attained a state where God had commanded the blessing.
Acts 2:2-4: There came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house. There appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, andit sat upon each of them.
The key word is "each of them." Who did not benefit from the unity? Nobody. It sat upon each. In a state of unity, when the blessing comes, nobody can say, "I was just a spectator." When the financial miracle comes, it sits on each of them. When the breakthrough comes, it sits on each of them. When the anointing comes for leaders, it sits on each of them.
Contrast with Division:

There were times in the Bible where people were together but not united. At the pool called Bethesda, there laid many impotent folks—not just one person. They were together, but everybody was for himself. As a result, one man remained there for 38 years. Ten lepers sat together—everybody for himself. But when they were in one accord, transformation came.
The Early Church: Sustained by Unity
Acts 2:42-47 gives us the blueprint for sustained blessing:
"They continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together and had all things common."
This was their secret: They remained steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine, in fellowship, in prayer, and in breaking of bread. Many wonders—life—were manifested. The Lord had commanded the blessing.
Acts 2:46-47: "And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people."
The result: And the Lord added to the church daily. It does not matter where the addition came—to your business, to your children, to the mantle on your life. The key word is:
the Lord added.
HOW TO BIND THE STRONG MAN
Understanding Spiritual Warfare Through Unity
When Jesus was casting out a devil, they accused Him of using Beelzebub, the prince of demons. Jesus responded:"Any kingdom divided against itself shall not stand". Then He said, "If you enter a man's house, you cannot do anything to that man except you bind him."
Question: From what we have learned, how do you bind a strong man? Disunite what makes him powerful.

For as long as Jesus came upon the earth and Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were in agreement, there was absolutely nothing that could be done against Jesus. The only condition for Jesus to die was that the Holy Ghost had to leave Him—there had to be a disruption in that tripartite structure. That was why the same Spirit came back to raise Him from the dead.
Satan's Strategy:
When the devil wants to attack a family, he begins to use offense—whatever it takes. His goal is to penetrate that family, but he knows that once there is unity, there is a blessing there, and the blessing is life. So Satan uses all the elements of the flesh to bind your hands.
When the devil wants to destroy a church, he first observes the unity structure of that church and begins to orchestrate events that bind the hands of the people.
When Satan wanted to destroy the apostolic structure, the first thing he did was start destroying the unity structure. He came directly to Jesus, then manipulated Peter's compassion (Satan can use good things to kill—it doesn't always have to be evil). He came through Judas. The most important thing is that he succeeded in destabilizing that unity structure.
Jesus on the Cross:
When He hung on the cross, Jesus cried,"Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani"—"My Father, You've turned Your face away from Me." At that point, He had become sin. The cup Jesus prayed about in the garden was not death—He had been saying He would die. The cup was that for the first time, the Trinity would be disunited.
One Reason Why God is Powerful:
It is because of the honor to the Trinity structure of the triune nature. "Hear ye, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord." The word "one" does not mean singular—it means unity.
Jesus prayed in John 17:3: "And this is life eternal, that they may know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent." Then He spoke about unity:"That they may be one, even as we are one"—discovering the hidden power resident in being one.
RESTORING THE UNITY STRUCTURE
Practical Steps to Activate the Commanded Blessing
Unity does not mean uniformity. Unity does not mean sharing the same position or rank. It means coordinating your strength, no matter how small or great, to insist that you achieve the same thing.
The Son was secure enough to acknowledge the authority of the Father. When Jesus walked upon the earth, He never called Himself Father—not once. He called the Spirit of God "Father Abba," and He was satisfied being the Son. Yet the Bible says they were one.
Assignment for Every Believer:
Go back home and restore the unity structure of your family. If you do not restore the unity structure between husband and wife, husband and children, Satan will continue to have access. Between husband and wife, if there is disruption, even your prayers are hindered.
What Restoration May Require:
- Saying "I am sorry"
- Saying "I didn't know better then, but I know better now"
- Whatever it will take to restore the unity structure
There are many prayers you will not pray—unity will pray the prayer for you.
For Leaders:
The primary assignment of every leader is not just to display skill. Worship team, protocol team—always be sensitive to the unity structure. The moment you see something happening, forget about what the physical case is. It is an attack from the realm of the spirit.
Some noble fathers need to go home, call their wives, and say: "You know what? We are not two political parties. The devil is a liar. We are tired of failing in spite of our personal prayers. Let's come together in one accord."
You can lock yourself in the room praying and fasting, but when there is unity, suddenlyhappens. Suddenly a job comes. Suddenly the pregnancy comes. Suddenly a new mantle comes—not just because you prayed and fasted alone, but because you attained a state where God had commanded the blessing.
- Father, everything that has made the men weak through disunity, let there be a restoration of that state. Every business, every family, every ministry connected to this great altar—restore the unity structure.
- Lord, release life to my finances, to my destiny, to my body, to my relationships.
- In the name of Jesus, we establish victory. For the sake of Your name, extend Your hand. We decree and declare it will be victory.
