The Unchanging Power of the Word

Although we live in a fast-changing world, we have the never-changing word of God that lives and abides forever. You can count on its validity, its potency, its integrity forever. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but not a jot of God's word shall go unfulfilled.

We are saved not by corruptible but incorruptible seed — by the word of God which lives and abides forever. This word operates under all circumstances triumphantly. Hebrews 1:3 — he upholds all things by the word of his power.

God's word is the master key to a world of turnaround. Although we live in a fast-changing world, the unchanging word of God remains in command. For his word is settled in heaven forever. No scientific effort will render the word of no effect.

What the Word Does

• It still heals and sets free today. God's word is as current as the day it was spoken. John 15:3; John 17:17
• It still guides the steps of the redeemed. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. It is far from being a history book — it is a book of life.

• It still makes wise. Psalm 119:97 — David's commandments made him wiser than his enemies. God's word opens up the intellect. Some people achieved first class results in school through engaging the word toward mental exploits.
• It still enriches today. True riches — inexplicable but undeniable. Not through games, gimmicks, scams, or wrongdoing. When you engage with the covenant of scriptures in truth, God empowers you for wealth. Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust.
• It still cleanses from sin. Amazing testimonies of rescue from addictions just through word encounters. You give heed to the word and you are free from entanglement.
• It commands breakthrough. The entrance of his word gives light. People walking in the light of scriptures command breakthroughs naturally — because the breakthrough power of light in darkness has no struggle. When light breaks forth, darkness backs out.

There is zero discrimination in the kingdom. What differentiates one person from another is light.

Revelation is spiritual understanding — being able to see what God is saying.

1. Meditation

   Meditation is like digestion. You eat the food; it goes through a process before it becomes absorbed and assimilated into the body. Meditating on the word squeezes the juice from it — pondering the word brings out the hidden riches within it. Psalm 1:1-3 — the man who meditates day and night is like a tree planted by rivers of water, bringing forth fruit in season, whose leaf does not wither, and whatsoever he does prospers.

   We need time out to ponder the word on topical issues of interest. Isaac went to the field to meditate, and he came out to become the envy of a whole nation. The noise is too much — we need time out.

2. Learning from Anointed Teachers

   Resources from anointed teachers are available; if you are interested, you go looking for them. There is much to learn from men like John Wesley and Smith Wigglesworth — even without knowing them personally, their resources placed a seal of spiritual authority. Isaiah 30:20-21 — yet your eyes will see your teachers, and your ears will hear a word behind you saying, "This is the way, walk in it." Value the ministry of teaching priests who have proof of the things they teach.

3. Speaking in Line with Your Findings

   Whatever fills the heart, the mouth speaks. Speak in line with your findings because your words are seeds. The word you speak today is what you find waiting for you tomorrow. Speak life. Avoid consuming junk — if you block your ears with nonsense all day, you dream nonsense at night.

   The light you do not engage with disqualifies you for the next access to light. As you find the light, walk in the light, and you keep seeing more light. Only the seed you sow on the field will grow — the one in your shelf will not.

Benefits of Spiritual Understanding

1. It enhances sanctification.
2. It engenders supernatural strength. Jeremiah 15:16 and Nehemiah 8:10 — the joy of the Lord is the secret of our strength. Revelation is an energy booster.
3. It enhances the level of spiritual expression. When they saw Peter and John and perceived that they were ignorant and unlearned men, they took knowledge that they had been with Christ.

The word of God is not a historical record — it is a living force that transforms and changes the stories of men today.

The Word Must Be Put to Work

Receiving, believing, and obeying the word is what makes it work. James 1:22 — be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. This man shall be blessed in his deed.

The man born blind obeyed an instruction that seemed impossible — go wash in the pool of Siloam. He was born blind and did not know the way, yet he went, and he washed, and he came back seeing. Do not cage your destiny. God will never ask you to do what you cannot do — his commandments are not grievous.

Stop wishing that the word works. Go and put it to work. If it's not working, the issue is between you and God and your disposition to the word. The word of God will work for your children, your grandchildren, your great-grandchildren not yet born — it works forever.
