Apostle Michael Orokpo Preaching - The Transformational Gospel Pt. 3
Sermon

lightbulb Message Summary - Key Nuggets

  • The gospel is not a historical fact to be acknowledged — it is an eternal truth whose message is mercy, love, wisdom, and power.
  • The new creation carries the essence of divinity: the life, anointing, righteousness, mind, and spirit of Christ.
  • Three levels of deliverance exist — but the highest is simply growing in light until darkness cannot operate.
  • The new creation lives by the Word, by prayer, by the Holy Spirit, and by functioning in the God-man dimension.

The Gospel — Power Unto Salvation

Romans 1:16 — "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth." Paul is making a profoundly practical statement. The gospel is not something to be ashamed of — it is a conveyor of the power of God. Anywhere the gospel is proclaimed, the power of God is released. But Paul adds a caveat: this salvation is only for those who believe.

The gospel does not only save men. It saves everything in creation. When man fell, creation fell. Psalm 82:5 — when we fell, the foundation of the earth was out of course. Romans 8:19-21 — creation is in bondage and travail, waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. So when we preach the gospel, we are sponsoring salvation not only to humanity but to creation. That is why it matters that we understand it fully.

The Message Embedded in Christ's Works

Paul declared in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4: "Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and was buried, and rose again the third day according to the scriptures." But understand — the death, burial, and resurrection are not the message. They are the capsule that carries the message. And the message has five dimensions.

  • Mercy: The reason Christ died for you is because God was showing you mercy. Ephesians 2:4 — God was rich in mercy. James 2:13 — mercy prevails over judgment. Judgment said the wages of sin is death. But God said: I will die in his place. So when we speak of the death of Jesus, we are not preaching history — we are extending the mercy of God to you. And because mercy has been extended, anywhere there is mercy, judgment is withdrawn. I am going to eternity with assurance, not because of what I do — because of the cross.
  • Love: When Jesus hung on the cross, He had set aside the privileges of deity — His glory, His worship, the adoration of eternity — and was called a criminal, hung naked. Romans 5:8 — "While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." That is love. And the implication of love, according to Romans 8:32: if God did not withhold His own Son but freely gave Him for us, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things? This is why I make declarations without fear. I know the love of God. If He gave Christ, anything I ask will not be withheld.
  • Wisdom: When Satan worked to ensure Jesus was crucified, he thought killing Jesus would stop the mission. But he miscalculated. Before the cross, the Holy Ghost was with one man. After the cross, every treasure Jesus carried — righteousness, anointing, life, faith, name — was distributed globally. Anywhere you say Jesus is Lord, you are saved. 1 Corinthians 2:8 — "Had the princes of this world known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory." They realized their error too late. That is the wisdom of God working through what looks like weakness.
  • Power: When Jesus went into the grave, hell celebrated. Day one — silent. Day two — silent. Then on the third day, lightning from heaven struck the grave and the monarch stood up. Having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them. He came out holding the keys of death and hell. He went in as a lamb. He rose as a lion. We do not negotiate with demons because they are already defeated — Jesus handled them in hell.
  • Righteousness: 2 Corinthians 5:21 — He made Him who knew no sin to become sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Christ. Right now, when God looks at you, He looks at the you in Christ — the righteous you that took the place of Christ because Christ took your place. I can come to God with boldness. Not because of what I have done. Because of what Jesus did.

The New Creation — Essence and Identity

Beyond the gospel of Christ crucified, the apostles also revealed who we have become. This second component of the gospel is critical — because it is possible to know what Jesus did without knowing the implication for you.

2 Corinthians 5:17 — "Whoever is in Christ Jesus is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Behold — all things have become new." The word behold means become aware. Paul is informing you. You may not feel it. But something happened.

Your essence as a new creation is divine. 2 Peter 1:4 — "He has made us partakers of His divine nature." Not observers. Partakers. The substance of divinity is your composition.

And it is not a vague theological statement. Everything Jesus carried has been transferred:

  • His life: 1 John 5:11-13 — God has given us eternal life and this life is in the Son. The same life that powered Jesus now powers you.
  • His anointing: Acts 10:38 — God anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and power. Acts 1:8 — you also received the Holy Ghost and power. Same substance.
  • His righteousness: Romans 5:17 calls it a gift. You received the gift of righteousness.
  • His mind: 1 Corinthians 2:16 — we have the mind of Christ. The same mind that the Pharisees could never trap. Nothing should be able to take you unawares mentally.
  • His spirit: Romans 8:9 — the spirit of Christ dwells in you. Everything Jesus did, He did by that spirit.

Three Levels of Deliverance

There are three levels at which transformation comes to the believer.

The first is deliverance by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit through an external agency — an anointed minister, a gift of the spirit, a word of authority. This is fast and is a great blessing. It can shrink twenty years of warfare into a moment. Despise not prophesying. If you receive a prophet in the name of a prophet, you receive a prophet's reward.

The second is through intercession and warfare — praying, fasting, building authority in the spirit through sustained engagement. God allows you to war some things out because the warfare builds you. He did not let Israel go through the desert because they would have faced war too quickly and turned back. The long way through the wilderness was wisdom.

The third — and highest — level of deliverance is growing in light. As revelation becomes real in your spirit, darkness finds no ground to operate on. You grow to a place where things fall off on their own accord. When the angel came to the prison, the chains fell without anyone pulling them. The door opened without anyone touching it. That is the level of light where you no longer need to rebuke everything — the enemy cannot enter your range.

How the New Creation Lives

  • By the Word: The new creation does not live by feelings or circumstances. James 1:22-25 — be a doer of the word, not just a hearer. He who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it is blessed — empowered to prosper — in all his ways. We search the word to find what God has said, and we live it. Not quote it. Live it.
  • By prayer: Prayer is not just a prayer point list. It is an awakening of the spirit man. As you pray, there is another being on your inside who begins to rise. There is a journey in the spirit — doors your spirit will knock on, voices from eternity that will speak. The apostles said: "We will give ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word." They gave themselves — wholly. When you pray until something rises from your spirit, you have crossed into another realm.
  • By yielding to the Holy Spirit: Romans 8:14 — as many as are led by the Spirit, they are the sons of God. The Holy Spirit is the governor of the realm. He carries you from place to place in the spirit. When you are fully yielded, you will begin to function as a God-man — a being whose output consistently exceeds what his natural faculties could produce.
  • By faith, love, and glory: The faith life awakens — you stop seeing impossibility. You walk in love and can forgive anyone, sometimes before they ask. And in the glory dimension, from time to time, God shows up beyond your capacity and takes over entirely.

You are not ordinary. You are a glory carrier, a light-bearer, anointed for impact. As He is, so are you in this world — not in heaven, now. The first man is of the earth. The last man is the Lord from heaven. God is expecting you to migrate from the first Adam to the Last Adam — and become a life-giving spirit everywhere you stand.

"One symptom of backsliding is that you begin to look down on the simple things that keep you on fire, calling a devotional 'just milk.' It's not about the information, it's about the consistency."
