Words Carry Power for Miracles

Cornelius was praying consistently, speaking the same words before his visitation came. There was a reservoir being filled. The same principle is at work in the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:22-34.

Jairus came and fell at the feet of Jesus, saying, "Come and lay your hands on her, that she may be healed and she will live." One of the ways to activate words is to stir up belief. You can say words out of pity — but it is what you believe that you speak with authority.

The woman with the issue of blood said to herself, "If only I may touch his clothes, I shall be made well." Immediately, the fountain of her blood dried up and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. She spoke it before it happened — that is the power of words.

Protecting Your Faith Environment

While Jesus was still speaking with Jairus, messengers came from the ruler's house saying, "Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?" These messengers were not outsiders — they were from the synagogue, from among the congregation. There are people around you who, without realising it, can destroy what you know and believe.

As soon as Jesus heard the word spoken to him, he said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not be afraid. Only believe — because when your faith is built, your words are built."

He permitted no one to follow him except Peter, James, and John. Even Jesus knew that he needed faith-builders around him for miracles. In the journey of trusting God for a miracle, there are people who must not be your companions. You do not need those who mirror your problem; you need those who have testimony to show for it.

Atmosphere and Agreement

When they came to the house, a tumult of weeping and wailing met them. Jesus said, "Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead but sleeping." They ridiculed him. But he put them all outside.

For your language not to change, there are people you must remove from your atmosphere. When you need to speak words of faith, surround yourself with those who carry testimonies you can live on. Build your faith and speak.

Words Activate Favour

A lady who had been bedwetting for years attended a monthly service. While serving in the sanitation department, the head of that department instructed her: while cleaning the toilets, declare, "God, cleanse my own life." As she stood at the door, she received a word to shout, "I am cleansed."

She spoke it. While she was saying those words, the Holy Spirit directed her to go and hug the pastor after the service. She obeyed — and her words activated favour, even when the other party did not understand why. Your words open wells that others can draw from.

The night she returned, she still experienced the affliction. But something spoke to her: "Are you looking at this bed? You are already settled." She shouted again, "It is settled."

She came for thanksgiving the next morning and danced like it was her last dance. She went back — first night, second night, third night. She even drank large amounts of water just to test. Never again.

Enough Is Enough

You cannot pamper sickness. You cannot pamper that affliction. Whatever you came carrying — migraine, hormonal imbalance, barrenness, miscarriage — enough is enough. Today ends it.
