God Is About to Do Something That Will Make Ears Tingle

In 1 Samuel 3:11 — And the Lord said to Samuel, "Behold, I will do a thing in Israel at which both the ears of everyone that heareth it shall tingle."

In understanding scripture, the law of context tells us we must check the preceding and succeeding verses to determine the correct interpretation. The law of first mention tells us that however a subject is first introduced becomes the foundation of every other reference. The law of convenience tells us that Jesus has paid a price, and by reason of that price we walk tall.

   When God spoke to Samuel, he said: "Here am I." Availability is the first thing. You must be available — present, attentive, responsive. Samuel was separated, alone, tuned in. God is looking for those who will say, "Here am I."

   I will serve God — I do not care what I go through. I will serve God even if my health is failing me. Even if I am being threatened at work. Even if my friends turn their backs on me. Even if my family rises up against me. Every attack on your life is targeted at your service — when the enemy throws an attack, it is to make you turn your back on God.

   In Job 36:11 — If thou shalt obey and serve him, thou shalt spend thy days in prosperity and thy years in pleasure.

2. Separation

   After Samuel said here am I, the Bible says God took Samuel to a separate place. If you must enjoy this move of God, you must understand the act of separation.

   Come out from among them and be separate. When somebody walks into your office, they should be able to identify that this is a believer by your conduct and character. You cannot let the world influence you.

   If your light is really shining, it will illuminate others. But if someone can invite you to a club and you go — your light is not shining. There are people who, when they see you, cannot make certain utterances because they know your response. That is what it means to be separate.

   Separate yourself from:

   • Wrong places — Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful (Psalm 1:1).
   • Wrong people — no one brings out of you what was never in you. You choose your associations.
   • Wrong choices — some choices are always wrong because they are not backed up by God's word.

   You cannot change them when you are among them. You cannot affect their lives when you live like them. They cannot listen to your gospel when you do the same things they do. For you to minister to them and win them over, you must live differently. Then you can talk to them. Then you can minister to them.

   In Ephesians 5:11 — Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

   The wages of sin is still death. Forget inflation. Lying still takes people to hell. Stealing and fraud — Christians do not do that. Christians do not cheat. It does not matter how you call it. There is no holy stealing. Have you seen VIP HIV? Have you seen cancer for very important people? Wrong. Separate yourself.

3. The Voice of God

   From now, God will speak to your spirit. You will hear the voice of God. In Psalm 29:4 — The voice of the Lord is powerful. The voice of the Lord is full of majesty. In Isaiah 30:21 — Thou shalt hear a voice behind thee saying, this is the way, walk ye in it.

   God has innovations, directions, revelations, new economic models, and guidance he wants to show you. Some of the things that were working before might not work now. He wants to show you where the world has shifted and the next steps to take.
