My help cometh

I love the word "cometh" because it is present continuous. It does not say my help has come or my help came. He is here now and ever shall be, world without end

The theme is like saying, come and share your testimony. If there is one woman who has been helped by God, it is me

Most times when I go before the Lord to pray, I end up crying in thanksgiving, in awe of what God can do with a life that was torn to pieces

He picked up the pieces and put them back together, and nobody can see the cracks. You cannot see where the brokenness was anymore because the healing is complete

I know I am in the eye of the storm all the time. I know Satan does not like me. I live in that reality

But I am fully aware of the one who is with me, so the devil can never claim any victory over me

Can he knock me down? Yes, that is the reality of life. Can he keep me down? An absolute no. A total absolute no. So my help cometh, for me, is my testimony

Testimony: the transplant

One of my children had two bone marrow transplants. A transplant that cost $1 million, and all we paid was $6,000. God can reduce and reduce price for you

It does not make sense except that it is the help of the Lord

The devil has lost big time over this child. I have experienced the help of God and there is no denying the goodness of God

Ezer: strong and necessary help

Ezer is the Hebrew word translated helper. The English can make helper sound like assistant, subordinate or someone who merely lends a hand. That is not what the Hebrew implies

The word describes strong and necessary help. Remove assistant from your head and superimpose strong and necessary help

Necessary means any help you need, God has it. Strong means help from someone capable of supplying what is lacking in a critical situation

I cannot lift this pulpit by myself. A grown sister came and together we moved it. She supplied what was lacking in me

A small child could not help me, because she is not a strong help

When you think about God, do not think of the child. Think of the one who could lift it. Whatever you need, God can supply. He is a strong and necessary help

I want to wake you up to the possibilities that there are in God

Three owners of the title Ezer

1. The woman

   Genesis 2:18

2. The Holy Spirit

   John 14:26, John 16:13

   He comes alongside us, leads us into all truth, teaches us all things. He is the Paraclete, who holds us up when we struggle

3. God himself

Men are not called ezer in the Bible. Women are. You and the Holy Spirit are alike

That is why the battles against you are so fierce. If you enter your office of ezer and operate in it, Satan is in trouble

How God shows up as your ezer

One of the strongest ways to understand a Hebrew word is to see how scripture itself uses it. God is repeatedly described as Israel's ezer

As a shield Psalm 33:20

A lady was accused of witchcraft in her family and had nobody to speak for her. She put it on a prayer platform and people began to pray

Almost immediately the one who accused her was accosted. That is God coming as a shield

Where are you exposed? What has exposed you? God comes as a shield, a covering, a defense

As a deliverer Psalm 70:5

God's help can come as deliverance. In labour with my son I dilated 1 cm in over 12 hours. The epidural did not work

After 6 more hours the chief medical director said it was not done well, gave another, and that worked. I had a CS

Somebody who knew what he was doing showed up and ended my suffering

Where are you suffering with no end, no outlet, no liberty? God is your helper and he comes to you as a deliverer

I want you to leave with such an assurance that wherever the enemy has shown up, God will show up much more Romans 5:20. Not in the same measure. Much more

As the one your help comes from Psalm 121:1-2

My help does not come from man. God will use men and women, but it is God at work in the humans who show you mercy

It is God inspiring the people who show you kindness. It can be anybody, even a stranger. When strangers show us kindness, that is when we feel the love of God most

In the labour ward I was screaming and a nurse asked me to stop because I was scaring others. I said let them be scared, I am in agony

Another nurse, Noella, had finished her duty. She sat, held my hand and stayed from 8:00 p.m. till 5:00 a.m. until I was taken into theatre

I never saw her again for the five days I was in hospital

I am not sure if she was human or an angel. She was a help for me. My husband was stuck in the UK and did not witness my suffering

As the shield of your help Deuteronomy 33:29

Once help has come to you, God will shield that help so the enemy cannot snatch it away from you

As my help Exodus 18:4

God is my help

Especially for those who feel rejected, dejected or abandoned. God is your help

When God is called Israel's ezer, nobody concludes that God is Israel's junior assistant. Helper does not mean junior assistant. The helper most times has to be stronger than the person being helped

Part of the reason for so much conflict in homes and families is that we do not understand the importance of our roles and how to step into them as God ordained

We interpret scripture from culture, tradition and social perspectives. They do not line up with scripture

God as helper is settled. Do you believe?

Before you knew you needed salvation, Jesus died. Before you were born he had put salvation on the ground

Salvation is the word sozo. It is more than being born again. That is the first layer

Everything you need in this life is contained in sozo 2 Peter 1:3. Inside the salvation he gave you is your healing, deliverance, justification, provision, protection and financial increase

God as helper is a given, like being a mother of four. Nobody can tell you that you have three. He has decided by himself to help you

The question is, do you believe he is your helper?

To believe is to be persuaded of the truth or existence of something. To believe is also to have faith in the reliability, honesty and benevolence of God

If you were persuaded, there are places you would not go, people you would not call, company you would not keep, prayers you would not pray

Is it textbook faith, head knowledge, how we were raised to go to church and pray? Why do you shake when opposition comes?

We can believe for others but not for ourselves. At the back of our mind is "God can be good to Mama, to the pastor, but not me"

The "who dash monkey banana" mentality

It is a very unkind, ungodly saying, and it plays at the back of our mind

Nobody gives the monkey banana, yet monkeys are not extinct. Somebody is giving them banana, you are just not there to see it

How much more you? Matthew 10:29-31

We superimpose people on God

We are so used to being denied that we project those who denied us onto the heavenly Father

My father had a problem with my mother because she was giving birth to girls. He asked, what is the value of a female child?

He called his daughters children of grass, which is scorched when the sun comes up. It has no value. I grew up hearing that

My desire was always to catch his attention, but I did not know how until I went to school and passed exams at an amazing level

Only when I brought home my report card did he carry me in his car, show me to his friends and have me read the newspaper to them

When I became a Christian it was difficult to accept the free gift of God's love. I felt I had to earn it

Every time I misbehaved I felt God did not love me anymore. I was superimposing my earthly father on the heavenly Father

We superimpose on the heavenly Father the personalities that denied, wounded, defrauded, broke and abused us. So it is hard to believe he is my helper

Scrutinize your theology on believing that God is your personal helper

Those we superimpose, especially persons of authority and primary caregivers, teach us to relinquish expectation. We settle into accepting lack of every kind

Then we rationalise the deficits. I don't need much love. I don't need material things. I don't need compliments. I'm okay by myself

We have settled into not having, not asking, not expecting, not demanding even what is ours by right

What God is saying to you

I am not the one who dropped you. I am not like the one who wounded you or rejected you. I am different. I am your maker and your lover

I stay for the long haul. I don't give up on you, I don't throw you away, I don't turn my back on you

When someone called you ugly, they were not there when I was making you. I crafted your nose, your big head, your fat stomach

Your brain is not useless. I made it. I put you together and when I finished, I said, you are good

I call you beautiful. I call you worthy. I call you enough. I have a lot of good for you, specifically you

The world has set a standard of beauty and we measure ourselves against it without questioning. By which measuring stick? Who gave the circumference of the head?

Hosea 11:3

God has already positioned himself as your helper, but you have not known the help is already on the ground

What God has done for me

He took away the fear of death

Death used to scare the living daylights out of me

On a turbulent flight, people who do not know Jesus were shouting Jesus. It is easy to call Jesus. Others were shouting a pastor's name

I sat calm and marvelled that I could be calm in a plane going whoop

God was inside the plane with us. My shouting once is enough: Jesus, I'm in your hand

On another flight a rich, puffed up man sat beside me

When the plane started kicking he held the armrest, and when the fear would not leave him he grabbed me. I asked him, are you not the man?

Shouldn't I be grabbing you?

He asked how I had no shaking. I answered him from Philippians 1:21

If the plane crashes, the moment I leave this body I appear before my Father. If it lands, I am good. Either way I win

The fear of death is gone

He took away worry

When situations hit, my heart drops, I am human. Then God asks, who is your source? Where will you anchor your attention? I say, Lord, on you

The moment I catch myself, I say to the devil, you have done your worst, watch me

My situation may not change on the outside, but inside, peace. God wants to bring you to where inside controls the outside, not outside controlling the inside

He wants you to believe that he has your good at heart and is willing to execute the good on your behalf

Rough situations show up almost weekly. Because God has taught me to rest in him, the devil can come and throw tantrums

In the shop my daughter, sitting in her stroller, screamed for what she wanted. The more I gave in, the more the tantrums increased

I went to a corner the camera could not see and told her, if you don't stop I will beat the daylights out of you and leave you in this shop

She repeated it back and stopped. That was her last tantrum

Many times what the devil is doing is throwing a tantrum. The more attention you pay, the more it escalates. The more you appease, the more the frequency

When you ignore a child's tantrum, they come and lean on your leg. Apply the same principle to Satan

A man of God fell asleep and a storm hit the windows. There was no storm outside, only in his house

God opened his eyes and he saw the devil going around the house scattering things to scare him

He told the devil, let me sleep and wake up and you are still here, you will see what I'll do to you. Then he went back to bed. The storm stopped

Stop feeding the frenzy of the enemy in your life. Feed the frenzy of the reality of God's help Deuteronomy 28:7

Let the word of God become a living, breathing entity for you. Do not keep it as head knowledge. That is what brought me to this place where I am at peace regardless

He settled my provision

When a need of 100 million comes and I do not have 1 million, the tendency is to worry and be afraid

I know I do not have the capacity for that, so I return to the one who owns the silver and the gold Haggai 2:8

I am among the richest women on earth because when my needs arise, they are met. That is true prosperity, not millions in the bank

Begin to expect again

Would you accept? Would you expect? "I don't expect anything from my husband, he cannot give." Says who? Proverbs 21:1

Align with the reality of God's word and let him align the things you need, including that man

Can I get you to believe you are deserving of honour, grace and good? Start expecting and believing again

Hebrews 13:6

One of the biggest fears keeping women in less than God has for them is the fear of what mortals can do

You are not free until you are free from the fear of the tongues of men. What they say you have no control over

Let them talk while you push your life in the direction it should go

People have refused to be impressed. You cannot impress them. The gold on a rich man's wife's neck could buy my father's village with change

Who am I trying to impress with the one on my neck?

Has any of them offered to carry your pain for a day, pay your bills for a month, or live with your difficult husband for one day?

God is your specific helper

God helps us generally. He provides food and a job. But he is your specific helper. What are you specifically dealing with?

When I gave birth to my daughter, they said she was too sick to survive and would not live to be 10. Medical science had no answer. He is your specific helper

God is interested in specifics where I am concerned

God is not wholesale, he is retail. Wholesale is all of us as children of God being blessed. Retail is you. What do you need? I am your supply

She was prophetess, judge and military commander in a season when women had no voice, occupying three offices at the same time. They did not give her an office, her office was a palm tree

Who helped her? The Lord. Specific. The king said, if you don't go with me to battle, I'm not going

Ruth

Ruth got her second chance. Are you telling me there were no virgins in Israel before Ruth showed up? God kept Boaz until Ruth showed up. That is how specific it can be

Her life was at stake and Jesus was specific

The woman at the well John 4

Five times rejected, now with a sixth man who was not her husband. When she saw Jesus alone she was potential number seven, but she got him

Why did Jesus send 12 men to buy food for 13 men? He needed everybody gone. He was waiting to be specific with the reject of society. God is specific about you

I hope you have heard something that will make you step into a new space with God in this land

People say it is very tough. It is tough because you are saying it is tough Acts 10:34-35

You have to believe the word of God is true. Do not hold it as head knowledge. Implement it. Stand on it and see it come alive in your life

Hosea 14:5-7

Put your own name in place of Israel. This is God's desire, God's place, God's dream for you

I did not come to excite you, I came to stir you up and push you into a space with God that is undeniable

Luke 3:5-6

God does not want to hide his miracle

God is a drama king. He let the fire be made seven times hotter, those throwing the three Hebrew boys in were burned, and he showed up inside Daniel 3

God wants to show off on your behalf. He showed off with Job Job 1:8. In spite of everything the devil did, I showed up

Human beings will fail you. The arm of flesh fails, but the arm of the Lord does not. It will hold you up

God is my helper. God is specific concerning me

• Maybe yours is finances. God is your helper
• Maybe yours is a child that is ill or not behaving well. God is your helper
• Maybe yours is a relationship causing so much pain and anguish. God is your helper

Many times God will not remove the situation. But when he shows you the place of his peace, it won't matter what is happening outside

The secret: flip the coin on the devil

I shift my perspective. When my next child was said to be sick like her sister, I left the room and told the devil, I've already conquered you here, try another area

It was not true. The child was not sick. The devil wanted to plant it so I would focus on it

No drop of rain fell all the years Noah was building the ark. God will never allow a storm to come at you until an ark is ready Genesis 7

Your responsibility is to find the ark and enter it. When the floods came, the very thing that sunk others floated the ark

God is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can mortals do to me? God is my beautifier. God is my defender. God is my glory. God is the lifter up of my head

• Father, I thank you for your daughters. Help your daughters. You have helped me and I can boldly say you are my helper.
• Bring your daughters to that place.
• Touch your people once again. Let your kingdom shine through a living, glorious church, not for temporary works, but to restore authority and power.
• Lord, restore my expectations. Restore my ability to see myself as worthy. Restore my vision and perspective on who I am in you.
• Lord, change the language playing in my head. You are not the people that dropped me, rejected me, broke me, withheld from me or messed with my image. You are different.
• Teach me to see you like I should see you. Teach me to lean on you heavy hard. Teach me to see myself as worthy and to stand up for me. Teach me to hear your voice telling me who I am.
• Thank you for restoration and inner healing. Thank you for replacing the voices in the wind that spoke brokenness, loss, rejection and belittlement.
• We seize those voices from the air and we say only your voice speaks now. We shut down every dissenting voice that does not line up with your calling, grace, gifting, love and favour upon any daughter in the house.

We release the voice of hope. We release the voice of healing. We release the voice of restoration. We release the voice of liberty. We release the voice of freedom in the name of Jesus

• Let your hand go to the recesses and corners of every woman's heart and mind, those corners shut down and locked away because they are too painful.
• Let your healing hand reach those dark places. Let your light shine in the darkness and let the darkness be dispelled.
• Where hope has died, Lord, revive it. Let there be a revival of hope in Jesus' name.
