Titus 2 and the mothers of faith
I'm a lover of the word of God. Every time I find something in the word I ask myself, how do I live this? How do I obey this? How do I act on this?
Titus 2:3-5
I don't want the word of God to be discredited. So I decided to obey the scripture by finding some of the older women to teach the younger women
Where are the mothers of faith? I decided to start with my own spiritual mom, Pastor Nkechi Ene
Before I got a chance to interview her, she went home to be with the Lord on the 29th of October 2025. This first episode honors her and some of the things I learned from her
It reinforced my desire to talk to the mothers before they're all gone
How Pastor Nkechi became my mother
Over 20 years ago I was living in Port Harcourt with my cousin. One Saturday morning I put on the TV. I was already a Christian.
I knew God had called me into ministry, but I had no idea what that meant or how I was going to achieve it
I had seen other women of God doing great things, but there was a disconnect. Some of them had very loud voices. Some of them had the passion and I didn't.
I was just a simple girl who loved the word of God and wanted to transfer that to other people
That Saturday I saw a very beautiful woman sitting on a chair with a Bible on her lap, simply speaking the word of God. Not yelling at me, not speaking from emotions.
It was the pure, unadulterated word of God. I was hooked
I moved out of Port Harcourt and never got to worship at the Carpenter's Church where she pastored. But I never forgot some of her messages
Years later I got married and became a pastor's wife and a pastor. I began my own faith journey, trusting God for children
Every time I felt the need to give up, one message of hers stood out. The things we see are temporal, which means they are subject to change

Every time it was getting too much, I would hear her voice say, it's temporal, it's subject to change. For many years she was a distant mentor
When I wanted to start a women's ministry, I told my husband the first person I wanted to invite was Pastor Nkechi Ene. He said, who is that?
I said, a phenomenal teacher of the word I met many years ago in Port Harcourt. I've never been to her church, but I used to watch her every Saturday morning.
He said, maybe one day we can make it happen
In the 15th year of my conference, Pastor Kingsley had invited her for International Word of Faith Conference. All I could think about was how to connect with this woman.
I took the most expensive thing I had, a gift, and met her in the green room
I said, this is how much you blessed me over the years. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would meet you in person.
I had dedicated my books to her, never knowing whether she would see them
She said something that changed our relationship. She said, I don't know why, but I just love you. She hugged me and I held on to her. From that minute she became a spiritual mom
She would call me and check on me. She wasn't the kind of spiritual mom who would throw scriptures or prophecies at you for the sake of it. Our relationship was very personal, very intentional, very private
I was learning. I was watching. Not only was she a teacher of the word and of faith, she lived it
One day she signed off her message, your personal mama. That changed the dynamics of our relationship
What I learned from her
She lived a life of absolute faith. She believed in the unadulterated word of God. She believed in following God
Faith is choosing what God has chosen for you
She left us books and messages, 27 years' worth of messages on Fresh Dew TV

Grief with hope
Someone sent me a message and said, why are you crying like someone who does not have hope? 1 Thessalonians 4:13
I am not crying like someone who does not have hope. I'm crying like someone who lost their mom
I didn't know it would take over 20 years to meet her in person, but when I did, my life changed. She covered me for 3 years and 3 months.
She didn't just teach me about faith, she wore it like a second skin. I watched her live it in the mundane and in the miraculous
Faith isn't just what we preach. It's what we become when no one is watching, when the lights are dim, and when life presses hard against our hearts
She taught me what it means to be a woman in ministry. Not timid, not apologetic, but confident in the calling of God
She was my man of God with breasts. Every time I said that to her, she would smile. My question is, Mama, are you smiling now?
She broke ceilings we didn't even know existed. She did it with such grace and made it look effortless
