The hand of God is good but His face is better

2 Timothy 4:2, 2 Timothy 4:3

God does not want people leaving the mountain with just His hand

The last thing I will ever do is introduce a God to people that is not personal

People in the Bible received miracles from Jesus but when it was time to surrender their lives, they didn't want it. They believed for miracles, but not in Him as the Son of God

Nobody on this mountain will receive a miracle and be like that

Results do not validate your walk with God

Major problem in the body of Christ: people think results validate their walk with God

Some say "my walk with God is special". They don't go to church, they are not submitted to any local assembly, they live the way they want

They say "I have a personal relationship with God, if I'm stranded and cry to God, He will answer me"

That thing might be your problem that will lead you to hell

You can eat bread and miss the bread of life

Moses or the children of Israel

Hebrews 12:22, Hebrews 12:16

Esau was called profane. Some of us, our walk with God is only need-based: "let Him answer my prayer." God is looking for more than that

On the mountain you are either Moses or the children of Israel

Psalm 103:7

Ways implies wanting Him. Israel wanted something from God and God gave them what they wanted

Moses was not looking for something from God. He wanted God

Your portion is God Himself

Joshua 13:14, 1 Peter 2:9

The Levites are priests. What are we? A royal priesthood. This is our portion

When land was shared, the priests got no land. Their inheritance was the Lord God of Israel, the sacrifices made to Him by fire

Your portion in God is not a thing. If you get land from God, the Babylonians will come and collect it

You can have a job for six, seven years. What if you lose it?

What God wants to give you is Himself, the One who gives the things

If you understand this, you can never lose

Anybody connected to this ministry who doesn't love God, is not pursuing God: it will never be our fault. You decided to miss God. It will never be that we didn't present Him to you

You can never lose

2 Corinthians 4:17 to 2 Corinthians 5:1

Affliction is working for you a weight of glory. Things seen are temporal. A job is seen. Marriage is seen

The worst thing that can happen is that the affliction kills us. Then we have a building from God. We can't lose because in resurrection we win

Even if you don't get your healing on earth, you wake up with a glorified body

No matter how it is played, the Bible has shown us the end. The believer is the winner

You can think you are ending Jesus. Give Him 3 days and He's not rising alone, He's rising as 2.6 billion people

Romans 8:28

I lost the job, I lost the marriage, whatever it is, at the end of the day I am winning. Why? Because what I have is Jesus

Want His ways over His hand

Exodus 33:18, 1 Samuel 9:3

We don't just want something from Him. We want His ways

Am I saying don't get anything from God? No. Someone who wants God's ways sees God's hand as an invitation to know His ways

Once I receive a healing, I take it as impartation to be a healer. That's how I transition. I'm not coming every day: give me miracle, give me miracle

It looks like nobody received a miracle from Jesus twice. Miracle is not a lifestyle, it is an invitation

Signs and wonders are not the destination. They are a sign that brings you to the wonder

Moses: "I've seen miracles, I've seen you part the Red Sea, but that's not enough for me. Show me your face"

Somebody looking at the face doesn't care about the hand. If I get the face I've gotten the inheritance

Saul was looking for donkeys, but what God prepared was kingship. Your need is an invitation

3 times we find God:

  • Trouble
  • Tension
  • Transition

If you don't have a need for a child, you will not become Abraham. Some shout amen, collect the child and still do not become what they were meant to be

After 30 days on the mountain

Matthew 4:1 to Matthew 4:3

30 days of morning, afternoon and night prayer has proven you can have a prayer life. 30 days is enough to be a habit

Don't wake up and eat a fat breakfast, take back in 4 days all the food you've missed. That is rising to eat, drink and play. God was not well pleased with that generation

When did the tempter come? After 40 days and 40 nights of fasting, afterwards He was hungry

Your temptation didn't come during the fast. You were being strengthened. Your warfare starts tomorrow

David in the wilderness has no money to finance womanizing. When he is in the palace relaxing, he sees Bathsheba 2 Samuel 11

You go to the mountain, take the law, come down and break it. Then you go back and beg for another one

Exodus 34:1

First tablets God wrote with His finger. This time God says "I will dictate, you write"

There are moments and moments

Nearness: Moses and the children of Israel

Exodus 20:18 to Exodus 20:21

The people trembled and stood afar off. They told Moses: "You speak with us and we will hear, but let not God speak with us, lest we die"

Behaving like Israel: "let him go and be for us, he will prophesy, we will say amen." That's not your portion

Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was. He told the people "Do not fear, God has come to test you." I know Him Exodus 20:20

Exodus 33:11, Exodus 33:20

Face to face is a Hebrew idiom that means intimate. It was not seeing His face, as verse 20 shows

Illustration: the blindfold

My wife walks with me into a quiet room and I blindfold her. Knowing me, what comes to her mind? I have a surprise for her

If a terrorist closes your eyes and leads you somewhere, what do you think they want to do to you?

It's the same action, but relationship changes your disposition

Some of us, God lives inside darkness and we are excited, there's a surprise. Some of us are walking with God, don't know where He's taking us, and we are afraid. The problem is we don't know Him

Any trace of darkness is a shadow of His wings

Let this God be your God

The three Hebrew boys: we know Him, He will deliver us, but even if He doesn't, we stick with our God, we stick with our confession Daniel 3:17, Daniel 3:18

Playing church

You only know this God when it's time to ask for something. You have a prayer life because you have a need. He's not Lord in your life

Jesus wants to be your friend, to help you, to give your life meaning

He doesn't want you taking a miracle and then taking it to hell. He wants to put purpose in your life

He wants you to be the one they visit on the mountain to get a miracle

You are not the children of Israel in the story. You are Moses

You are the one giving them water, parting the Red Sea by the power of God

The gospel

Romans 10:9, Romans 10:11, Romans 10:13, Acts 4:12, John 14:6

Jesus died, was buried and rose again for the forgiveness of sins. If you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth His lordship and that He is savior, you will be saved. Those who call upon Him shall not be put to shame

There is no other name given under heaven by which men shall be saved, only Jesus. He is the only way to the Father

  • Lord Jesus, I believe that You died, You were buried, and You rose again the third day according to the scriptures for the forgiveness of my sins.
  • I believe in my heart and I confess with my mouth that You are my Savior and You are my Lord.
  • I receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, the gift of forgiveness of sins and newness of life.
  • I declare I'm born again, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

Inspiring Quote

Sermon

"One symptom of backsliding is that you begin to look down on the simple things that keep you on fire, calling a devotional 'just milk.' It's not about the information, it's about the consistency."
