Every Mantle Is Surrounded by Battle
Bring your Bible to John 18:4-11.
Anytime there is a manifestation of God in the dimension of miracles, signs, and wonders, in any expression, whether prophetic, apostolic, pastoral, or evangelistic, there are four elements that are triggered.
- Because of His name — God moves because of Himself, because of His integrity, because of His commitment to His own name.
- Because of His minister — God moves because of the anointing upon the servant He has sent.
- Because of the atmosphere — there are atmospheres men have labored over in prayer, atmospheres that carried torrential fire until angels were triggered into manifestation by reason of pronouncement.
- Because of the person involved — sometimes God moves simply because of who is standing before Him.
In a healing service where the blind, the deaf, and the dumb are brought, and sometimes people are carried in dead, hands were laid on a young man who did not rise. Yet as his mother was being wheeled out, a lady stopped her and pleaded for prayer for her own mother, who had not walked in seven years. The moment hands touched her, she stood and began to walk. Her daughter later explained: "When we were coming, I told my mother, it is either here or nowhere else." Like the woman with the issue of blood, she had said it in her heart.
What is said in the heart must agree with what is spoken by the preacher's mouth for there to be a spontaneous combustion in the realm of the spirit.

God is not emotional. He is a spirit, and spirits do not operate on emotion, they follow principles.
Jesus, knowing all these things would happen, still stepped forward. He knew the battles, the challenges, the struggle, and the arrest that was coming, yet He went ahead.
Why Battles Surround Greatness
Every mantle is surrounded by battle. Every greatness is surrounded by warfare. Consider Joseph. Anywhere he saw the letter P he could grow angry, because P reminded him of Potiphar's wife, the pit, and the prison. But hidden within that same letter P was a prime minister's palace, and a Pharaoh whose dream he would one day interpret.
Your problem is your promotion.
Joseph carried the gift of dreams long before he had any way to have them interpreted, until that very gift of interpretation came to him inside the prison. There is something a prison season is designed to uncover, something a battle or a limitation is meant to break open. Jesus knew there were battles ahead, and He went ahead anyway.
The Net That Would Not Tear
When Jesus gave Peter a miracle catch of fish, Scripture records that his net "began to break." A net is made of material that should tear, not break, yet the record stands as it is: it was a record-breaking net.
God told Noah He would never again destroy the earth with water, and set a rainbow as the sign. Noah sent out a dove to test the waters, and it never returned. Nothing was heard of that dove again until the day Jesus was baptized, when the dove that had been suspended in the atmosphere came down and rested on His head. The living water Himself had shown up.

It does not matter how far others have gone ahead — there is something about a person's life that is coded in the atmosphere.
The magicians of Egypt could turn rods into serpents and swallow one another's for sport, mocking what Moses did before Pharaoh. Yet they could not see that the very man they were housing in their own courts would end their nation's dominion forty years later.
There are things about your destiny that no talisman, no charm, no spell can uncode.
You Cannot Be Captured Unless You Allow It
Scripture records that Jesus "saw Judas standing" among those who came to arrest Him. It is one thing to survive the betrayal of a stranger; it is another to be betrayed by those who stood beside you. The walls do not have ears, it is your friends who sold you. Until a person approaches their destiny with the understanding that they walk alone with God, trust will keep being misplaced.
Jesus looked Judas in the face and told him plainly what he was about to do, yet He still let them come. He had an assignment, a mandate, and when He said, "I am He," those who came for Him fell to the ground. No one can arrest the great "I AM."
Traveling once by train through Europe, a Nigerian stranger introduced himself as the head of native doctors in Europe and boasted that he had come to disrupt an upcoming crusade with bad weather. He was warned plainly that he would not survive to see it through, and by the second night of that same crusade he was carried out of the meeting, his charms and rings removed from him for everyone's safety, exposed publicly as the herbalist he was.
There are people who profit from wickedness, who profit from throwing sickness and spells at others.

In another meeting, a woman under a strange manifestation was made to confess: a voice speaking through her admitted to closing a man's wife's womb and appearing in his dreams disguised as his own wife, in order to keep him from serving God. When judgment was pronounced, the very son who had walked out earlier returned to discover the voice belonged to his own mother.
Anytime a person is captured, sick, or under attack, in one way or another, it was allowed. What is bound on earth determines what is bound in heaven, not the other way around.
He Is My Substitute
Jesus has become every believer's substitute. Whatever a person was meant to have gone through, He went through it in their place.
He lived short that you might live long. He took my sickness. He took my pain. He took my disease.
Twelve people have been seen raised from death across a lifetime of ministry, along with many other miracles, because there is a hunger that will not settle. In one meeting, a young woman born deaf and dumb spoke for the first time in her life. In another, a woman fell in such a way that her skull visibly opened before the whole congregation, and closed again the moment the minister called for a miracle.
He was wounded for our transgressions, so that men would not have to remain in transgression. The chastisement of our peace was laid upon Him, so that men could enjoy peace. By His stripes, men have been healed.
When a mission team once asked an Islamic nation for a stadium to host a crusade, the request was tested first by a walk down a street of beggars written off as permanently disabled. What appeared to be an impossible test became the doorway to a national crusade after the very first man prayed for there stood and walked.
Saul looked at Goliath and measured him against himself. David looked at Goliath and measured him against his God.
No Legal Ground for the Enemy
When Peter drew his sword and cut off the ear of the high priest's servant, Malchus, he broke Roman law. Under Roman custom, any proven assault on a soldier's household was punishable by death on the spot. Jesus restored the ear immediately, removing the evidence, and with it, the legal ground for judgment against Peter.
Every affliction and battle of life has a legal ground, and the chief of them is sin.
2 Timothy 2:13 declares that even if we deny Him, He cannot deny Himself. Baal never answered the prophets who called on him, but before Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were even thrown into the fiery furnace, the Lion of the tribe of Judah was already there. God's faithfulness to His own name is the ground on which every covenant blessing stands.
- Lord, I step into my office and exercise dominion over every sickness and disease in this body.
- Every affliction, every pain, every condition assigned against this body, come out in the name of Jesus.
- Be healed. Be healed. Be healed.
Whatever has not been done in your family before shall be done through you.
