The Armor of God — Standing Against the Real Enemy

Ephesians 6:10-13

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. That means dependence is on Him — on His divine ability. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil — against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The war is not against flesh and blood. The real enemies are spiritual. The men and women who carry out acts of evil in the earth are not the enemies — they are controlled by the real enemy. The principalities and powers are not flesh and blood. The rulers of the darkness of this world are not natural entities. Those are the forces that control what is seen in the earth.

Ephesians 6:14-16 — stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

The armor is complete. Truth. Righteousness. The gospel of peace. Faith. The helmet of salvation. The sword of the Spirit — which is the Word of God. Prayer always.

Christ — Far Above All

Ephesians 1:19-23

What is the exceeding greatness of His power toward those who believe — according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places — far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this world but also in that which is to come.

And God put all things under His feet and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church — which is His body, the fullness of Him that fills all in all.

The church is the fullness of Christ. As long as the church is in the earth, He is in the earth. The believer is the full representative and representation of Christ in the world today.

The Great Commission

Mark 16:15

And He said unto them, go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. That is the mandate. Not to some creatures. Not to friendly ones. Not to the ones already in church. To every creature.

So the instruction has been given — and what is being done in these days of prayer and fasting is exactly what He commanded: proclaiming salvation to the ends of the earth. This is not optional. This is the assignment.

The enemy uses principalities and powers to resist the spread of the gospel. That is why prayer and spiritual warfare are inseparable from missions and evangelism. The armor is worn not for personal comfort but for the advance of the kingdom.
