The Vocabulary of Another Realm

There is a skill that is not widely taught: how to translate supernatural ideas into practical action. Without it, a person can spend years in church and begin to feel like the results are not commensurate with the investment. It takes spiritual skill to receive a vision from God and nurse it to practical fruition.

The topic is this: faith is the language of revival.

Look at Joshua 1:3 — every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, God says, "I have given you." Notice what He does not say. He does not say "I will give." He says "I have given." That is not an accident of grammar. It is a different tense entirely.

In school, the tenses are: present, past, past perfect. But there is another tense — one that belongs to the realm from which God speaks. Some theologians call it the prophetic perfect tense. It is the vocabulary of a God who can call the end from the beginning. At the beginning and the end at the same time, how would you speak? How would you communicate about something that from your vantage point is already finished?

This is the language of faith: not "I will," but "I have."

In Genesis 17:5, God renames Abram: "You shall no longer be called Abram, but Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations." Not I will make you — I have made you. It is already done. From a natural standpoint, Abraham could have looked around and asked, "Where are the children then? You've made me a father of nations — so where is the nation?" But the answer is: it is settled in the spirit. You cannot see it yet, but it is done. The invitation is to dare to believe God and leave that encounter walking not as someone who will become the father of nations, but as someone who already is.

The Prophetic Perfect Tense in Scripture

This is not an isolated idea — it runs through Scripture as a consistent pattern:

• Isaiah 46:10 — declaring the end from the beginning, from ancient times things not yet done. God's counsel shall stand; He will execute all His purpose. That is the realm from which He speaks.

• The lamb was slain before the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8) — before man was created, before man sinned, the lamb was already slain. Declaring the end from the beginning.
• Luke 10:19 — "See, I have given you power to trample upon serpents and scorpions and over all the ability of the enemy." Not I will give — I have given. A place of rest must be arrived at before the power ministry functions as it should. Those who are strong in that area always sound bold — almost obnoxious — in how they declare what God has already settled.

The irony is this: a person will not see what God has already done until they start saying what God has said. Confession must match vocabulary. The things seen in the place of prayer must influence how a person sees themselves.

Receiving the Word: Mary's Response

There is such a thing as spiritual impregnation. When the angel came to Mary, her response was: "Be it unto me according to your word." She did not understand the mechanics. Medically, it made no sense. But she received it. That moment — according to many — was the moment she took Him.

This is the curriculum:

• When the doctor says there is no recovery and God says you shall not die but live — be it unto me according to your word.
• When there is no money and God says you will lend and not borrow — be it unto me according to your word.
• When there is no marriage in sight and God says next year — be it unto me according to your word.
• When the vision in your heart is enormous and the current circumstances are laughable — be it unto me according to your word.

Receiving is an act. For Abraham, it meant changing his name — declaring publicly what God had already declared privately. For someone receiving a word from God today, it might mean telling people: "Do not ever call me broke — even as a joke. If you come to this house, speak life. Do not come wearing a long face as if I'm going to die. Do not pity me." The alignment of speech and vision is not arrogance. It is obedience to the prophetic tense.

Walk like where you are going. Walking is free.

You Must Also Do It

Receiving is one side. The other is action. Deuteronomy 2:24 — "Rise, take your journey, and cross over the river Arnon. Look, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land. Begin to possess it. Begin to possess it."

That same prophetic perfect tense — I have given — is paired with a present command: rise, cross over, begin. It is concluded in the spirit. But in the present, something must be done.

If nothing is done in the present, God is made to look like a liar. The promise is conditional on movement.

God is not just for the believer — He is in the believer. If anywhere lacks the move of God, it is because God's people are not moving. Anywhere the sole of your foot treads, He has given. Which means the move of God does not precede the step of the believer — it follows it. The story of the lepers in 2 Kings 7 is a parable: they had every disadvantage, but they had audacity. They said: "If we stay here, we die. If we go, we might die. Let's at least try." As they began to move, God amplified their steps. Every step sounded like a chariot to the enemy. That is how it works.

People with disadvantage but audacity will often outrun people with advantage and passivity. In life, the blessing goes to those who move, not those who wait for the door to open before they stand up.

The Extent of the Miracle Is Yours to Determine

In Joshua 1:3 the principle is this: every place the sole of your foot treads, it is given. Which means if you stop at two, that is the will of God for two. The prophetic word to the man striking arrows on the ground was: keep going. He chose to stop at three. The prophet said if he had continued, the victory would have been complete. The widow who borrowed vessels — "borrow not a few" — determined the extent of her own miracle by how many vessels she went out to find.

God told Abraham: look northward, southward, eastward, westward — as far as your eyes can see. It means if you limit yourself, that limitation stands.

Many people are living below their potential. Even people who are already walking in the blessing of God. Good becomes the enemy of great. It is less likely to stretch when results are already happening — but the question is whether the current reality is what God actually said.

Courage Is an Instruction, Not a Grace

Back to Joshua 1:5-9: "No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so will I be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you." And then: "Be strong and of good courage."

Be strong. Be courageous. These are not descriptions of what God will give — they are instructions. Not "you shall become courageous" but "be courageous." It is a command.

You are anointed. It will still take courage. These two things coexist.

• The battle is already won — but there will still be a fight.
• The land is already given — but the rivers still need to be crossed.
• The logistical difficulties are real — even for what God has destined.
• The idea that if it is hard then God is not in it is an elementary and dangerous ideology. Go and read about Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane: "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful even unto death." If the difficulty of the path meant God was absent, then even Jesus was on his own.

The people who know their God do not turn back because of confrontation. Do not be dismayed. To be dismayed is to look away when confronted — to drop eye contact when challenged, to shrink when someone pushes. That is not humility. It is a spirit that must be dealt with, because success in business, in ministry, in life, requires the ability to hold your ground.

Witchcraft and the Contrarian Spirit

Beware of witchcraft. Not in the supernatural sense only — but in the way Paul described it in his letter to the Galatians when he asked: who has bewitched you? He was not talking about magical powers. He was describing something more common.

Witchcraft works like this: something is good and you know it is good — but because enough people oppose it, you change your mind, or you sit in the middle so you do not look like a fool. That is witchcraft.

When something is working and a contrarian spirit shows up just to oppose it, just to bring it down — that is the spirit of witchcraft in operation. It operates through online comments, through anonymous accounts, through the kind of culture that tears down anyone who begins to rise. It is the same spirit that shows up whenever a nation needs to unite behind a vision but cannot because someone always has to oppose.

Do not allow anyone to reduce your confidence with their opinions. Their opinion is not the final word on who you are. Stop hiding behind fake accounts to say things you cannot say face-to-face. Why does reducing someone give joy? That spirit is witchcraft. Recognize it and refuse it — in yourself and in others.

Be Bold — The Action Steps

• Receive what God has said. Be it unto me according to your word. Not as ambition. Not as carnality. As faith in the vocabulary of God.
• Walk like it and talk like it. Align your daily language with the prophetic tense. What you allow people to call you, how you describe yourself, how you carry your vision — these things matter. See it regularly. In prayer, go back to the vision. Especially when circumstances are contrary, return to that place and see it again.
• Begin to possess it. Rise. Take the journey. Cross the river. Carry the CV. Knock on the door. If they don't open on the first day, come again. If they don't open on the second, come again. "Keep asking and you shall receive; keep knocking and it shall be opened." Giving up after two attempts is not faith — it is quitting with a spiritual vocabulary.
• Experiment. Try new things. The reason many people do not succeed is because they have not failed enough. School trains people to think failure is bad. In real life, failure is information. It is part of learning what does not work so that what does can be found. Try ideas when they come. Flash ideas. Quiet hunches. Try them.
• Do not wait for a popularity vote. Paul said God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. The lepers were not picture-perfect candidates for the miracle — but they moved. Stop waiting for people to validate your calling. People will only support you when you stop needing them to.
