Love Gives Value to Every Redemptive Provision
Love is a virtue that gives value to every redemptive provision for delivery. In 1 Corinthians 13:1-3, though a man speaks with the tongues of men and angels — symbolizing anointing — and has no charity, he becomes a noisemaker. Though he has the gift of prophecy, understands all mysteries and knowledge, and has all faith so he could remove mountains — without charity, he cannot remove a motive. All these great provisions of redemption remain barren without love.
All redemptive provisions anchor on love in season and out of season. Our redemptive journey becomes an issue of trial and error without the love of God actively at work in us.
In Matthew 22:36-40, Jesus was asked which is the great commandment. He said: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment." The second — love your neighbor — is an outflow of the first. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. All of God's provisions in the kingdom hang on this first and great commandment.
Faith Works by Love
In Galatians 5:6, faith works by love. Love is the catalyst that enables faith to deliver. The alter our love for God — the more effectual our faith becomes. Faith lies dormant without the catalyst of love. But when love is in place, faith is activated — and the product is victory, triumph, conquest.
We must answer the love question if our faith is to soar. One cannot love God and not know it. You can't be growing in your love for God and not know. Stop playing vain religion. Love for God makes us more than conquerors because he that dwells in love dwells in God and God in him. You are clothed with his presence. Whatever cannot defeat God cannot defeat you.
In 1 Corinthians 2:9, eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, and it has not entered the heart of man what God has prepared for those that love him. Those who love him are perpetual pathfinders, trailblazers, pace setters.
Strong Faith from Deep Love — The Examples
Abraham's strong faith came from his love for God. In Genesis 22, God asked him to offer Isaac — and Abraham rose early, tracked for three days, and was prepared to slaughter his son, accounting that God was able to raise him even from the dead. Romans 4:20: he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith giving glory to God. Behind the exploits of Abraham was his heart for God.
Moses in Exodus 32:9-14 — when God offered to destroy Israel and make a great nation from Moses, Moses refused. He said: do not make anything out of me. Just spare these people. Then in verses 31-32, he returned to the Lord and said: forgive their sin — and if not, blot me out of your book. Behind every exploit of Moses was this heartbeat: there arose not a prophet in all Israel like Moses, whom God knew face to face (Deuteronomy 34:10). By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible (Hebrews 11:27-29). By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land.
That is how genuine love strengthens faith. When our heart is rooted and grounded in love, our faith is strengthened to make the unusual happen.
This Is Intentional — Not by Chance
No one should claim to have discovered the secret behind any man's exploits until they have found that man's heartbeat for God. All things do not work together for good by chance — they are always intentional. It is an intentional step you take to make all things keep working together for good.
During an attack on a loved one's health, the response was: "Jesus, that to heal her is not what makes you God. Whether you heal her or not, you are my God." And in the midst of that ordeal, the ministry continued across 27 nations — not trying to pose, but as commanded.
All this trade-by-battle faith will not take you far. Sit up and settle down. Whatever he commands suits me. Not once has obedience felt like a robbery.
We bought an aircraft without a budget. They asked: what is your budget? There was none. What kind do you want? No preference. Six months later, it arrived — fully paid, delivered wholesale, without any personal contact with any person. When God commands it, it is done. When your love is rooted and grounded in him, it is your turn.
Give God Your Heart
Proverbs 23:26: "My son, give me thy heart." And watch what I will make of your life. You have the right of choice — he cannot force his way in. Give him your heart and watch what he does with your life.
Lord, I give you my heart. I give you my soul. I live for you alone. Every breath I take, every moment I am awake — Lord, have your way. May today mark a new dawn in my life.
It is to everyone according to his faith — Matthew 9:29. And our faith is according to our love for God — Galatians 5:6. Therefore it is to everyone according to his love for God. From this hour, your love for God will start showing in every step of your life — and all things will keep working together for your good, in your health, career, business, family, children, and grandchildren.
May that grace bestowed on men who have walked with God in genuine love be released upon everyone who gives God their heart today, in Jesus' name.
