What is Easter/Resurrection Sunday all about?

It is a commemoration(to bring to remembrance, mark as important, show honour) and a celebration of one of the most important pillars of the christian faith - The resurrection of Christ from the dead. Luke 24:1-14

The Gospel of Salvation has 6 components

The Gospel of Salvation - That means the entire discus of the revelation of the father’s love that was revealed in and through the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus, is divided into 6 components.

1. The Divinity or the Incarnation of Christ

   John 1:1&14

   You must believe that he is God, he was with God and for the purpose of His assignment on earth to man and creation, he became the incarnate(he wore a mortal body)

2. The earth work of Jesus

   You must believe that he walked upon the earth - he grew like every other person.

   Why did Jesus come to the earth?

   1. He came as an accurate representation of the misunderstood God
   2. To reconcile men to God through His substitutionary sacrifice
   3. He came as a pattern man, to create a model of a victorious life upon the earth

3. His Death

   His death gave him the legal right to go to Hadees(the world of the dead) to finish up the claims of justice and to collect the keys of death and hell

4. His Burial

   His burial is proof that he really died. John 11:44

5. The resurrection

   1 Corinthians 15:3-8

   He is alive and was seen

   Ephesians 1:20, Philippians: 2:9, Hebrews 12:2

The 7 Areas the Victory of Jesus purchased for us

1. Sin
2. Satan - extending to other demon spirit
3. Hell
4. The grave
5. Death
6. The world
7. Flesh

6 Implications of the resurrection

1. His resurrection was a validation that he was truly the son of God Romans 1:1-4
2. The resurrection gave credibility to all other words of Jesus Matthew 17:5-9

   This strengthens our faith in everything he says.

   If He said he would resurrect and he did, then there’s nothing he says or said about your life should be believed

The power of His Resurrection

The most important aspect of redemption is not just the victory that came with the resurrection, but who Jesus won it for Ephesians 1:3-14

The profit point of the resurrection is what it empowers man to be and do on account of what christ has done

Our mandate is not complete if we only celebrate his resurrection, the greater task is to become validators of His resurrection and extension of His resurrection power Ephesians 3:10

God’s desire is to have an army of men and women who understand this resurrection and activate this resurrection power, validating His resurrection.

There are children, intellectuals, families, nations that do not believe in Jesus, so although celebrating his resurrection is wonderful, the greater task is to come into a place of alignment and carry that supernatural grace that would empower us to be validators of his resurrection, extending His resurrection power to nations

There has to be a generation that will answer the question the world is asking.

Keys to becoming a validator/witness of His resurrection

1. You must contend for renewal and transformation of your mind.

   It demands a new way of thinking.Colossians 3:1-4

You will not be witness of the resurrection of the power of the Lord Jesus Christ when you have a mindset that is inconsistent with victory

Ephesians 4:17-18

In the name of Jesus, I contend for a change of mind, renewal and transformation

Philippians 4:8

Get the message: Think on these things

If your heart looks like Christ and your mind looks like satan your destiny will look like satan

Philippians 2:5

The mentality to rise up and walk is what attracts the anointing to rise up and walk. If you do not have the mentality of victory, you cannot attract to your life the conditions that make for victory in experience.

Declaring scriptures is very powerful, it is both creative and transformative - on one hand you are creating realities and on the other hand you are feeding your conviction

• The wisdom of God is at work in my life

Mind what you believe

If you pay attention to the word, the ministry of the holy spirit, you will become a sign and wonder.

Allow the mind that made Jesus to work that path of victory to also be at work in you and you will find out that there are certain limitations that will not come near your destiny again. This is the labour in the spirit.

Philippians 2:5

What you call a champion, it is not a man, it is a mentality/mindset

Lord, as I celebrate this resurrection service, every mentality that is anti-destiny, anti-spiritual vibrancy, anti-kingdom, let that mindset leave my destiny in the name of Jesus

2. It demands a new way of living - a Kingdom culture

   Ephesians 4:17

   There has to be a radical and evident change of lifestyle

   Ephesians 4:17-32

   If your lifestyle has not changed then the resurrection power has not started working - it must change your lifestyle.

   Word-compliant lifestyle - This is not by trying by the power of the flesh, but you are en-graced by the spirit and you take advantage of it.

   A life that compels people to think about Jesus. A life responsibility, dignity, power, vision.

   Character precedes power

   Father work upon my lifestyle

3. Accessing the resurrection power through the spirit and allowing to flow through our minds, words, hands and our bodies

   You can allow the power to flow through your hands and not mind, you can allow the power to flow through your words, but never through your hands.

   It is important to allow the power to flow through you entirely, so that you can display the full potential of what the power can do.

   What we need to experience in our world as a result of the resurrection power

   1. Creativity
   2. Innovation
   3. Global solutions
   4. Love
   5. Productivity
   6. Signs and wonders

4. The desire to see Jesus revealed and glorified beyond self

   John 17:1

   For as long as it is not beyond self, you cannot be witnesses.

   The one who died looked beyond himself, so the one who lives for him should also look beyond themselves

   The value of life is how much you allow yourself to be spent for the sake of his majesty. It doesn’t mean to disregard yourself and personal comfort, but that the kingdom becomes a priority.

   Father, empower me to bring you glory to you, bring souls, change my world through my life
