The various kinds of prayers according to the bible Ephesians 6:18

It is important that the believer is mentored and trained to understand the kinds of prayer that are available and when to use them, and also, why prayers fail.

1. Praying in the spirit(the prayer language)

   This goes beyond praying in tongues, but for the purpose of this discussion, we contextualize it to praying in tongues. The word tongues is an ancient word that means language.

   1 Corinthians 14:2, 1 Corinthians 2:6

   When you pray in the spirit amongst the many things it does, it is a growth system, it strengthens your capacity. It doesn’t just activate your organs of interaction in the realm of the spirit. It is also a transportation system, it can bring into your space, spiritually and then mentally the will of God.Romans 8:26

   Some visible problems are a reaction to something hidden.

   For instance, you could be having a headache, but what is really wrong is something else. Likewise in the realm of the spirit, you could be sick and praying against sickness, but what satan is really after/attacking with that is your finances, but when you begin to pray in the spirit(I call it distilled prayer) the holy spirit who knows all things and knows the mind of the father who sees all things is able to pray accurately through your faculty

   1 Corinthians 2:14

   One of the ways to pray in the spirit effectively is that God uses the power imagery to direct you

2. Faith filled declaration of scriptures

   Psalm 107:2, Ecclesiastes 8:4

   Speaking like this is sowing - that’s how to plant seeds in the garden of your destiny. If you keep quiet, remember your enemy has seeds.

3. The prayer of enquiry

   1 Samuel 30:8

   There are times where the bible as the written word, may not give you an exact answers in terms of answers bespoke to what you are looking for, at time you have to enquire of the Lord.

   There are pointers that you need enquiry from God

   2. Consistent struggles in an area. Your strategy and vision must be in sync

   God can answer you in many ways

   1. He can answer you by giving you a prophetic revelation from scripture
   2. He can quickening a divine solution to your spirit
   3. He can refer you to people who have gained mastery in finding direction

4. Warfare and intercessory prayers Ezekiel 22:30

   What is Warfare?

   Warfare is not fighting the devil or demonic spirits.

   Warfare has to do with using the word of God and every spiritual resource(the word, spiritual intelligence, the ministry of angels) that has been made available to the believer in Christ to enforce over lives, over territories and situations, and to ward off the arsenals of hell in experience.

   2 Corinthians 2:14

   It takes faith and the operation of the mysteries of the kingdom to make that victory that has been settled in Christ to become real in your life.

Why prayers fail to produce answers

1. The conflict between the will of God and your desires

   What makes prayers effectual is the degree to which the will of God is captured in your desires/the prayer.

   God may not answer your prayers but your prayers can be answered

   Meaning: There are many answers that would arrive to you but did not come by God - corruption can make an answer arrive. How you know an answer came from God, is that it will produce the glory of God in your life.

   Psalms 19:14

   Let it be in sync, let it align.

   There are 3 ways to pray the will of God

   1. The first is scripture based prayers
   2. Pray in the spirit
   3. Pray with the leverage of prophetic guidance and direction

2. Not understanding the believing receiving and having formula

   Explained in January Miracle Service, 2026

   The bible says we cannot have what we’ve not received.

How God answers prayers

1. Supernatural manifestations and divine intervention
2. Releasing graces - the graces that bring about the manifestation of the answers(graces like wisdom, favour and understanding)
3. The ministry of Men Luke 10:31-36

4. He causes you to grow Galatians 4:1, James 2:52
