This is not your rest (Provoking hunger & dissatisfaction)
By Apostle Joshua Selman

Micah 2:10

Isaiah 43:19

Over dwelling on the past(negative and positive) has a consequence on your destiny and your tomorrow.

3 Levels of fear

  1. Fear of yesterday: The fear that comes with history, for example, I once tried and I failed.

Aside fear, it can bring discouragement.

  2. Fear of today
  3. Fear of tomorrow

The starting point of every destiny is the desire to make progress.

Something happens to men, when they make commendable progress- the passion to press, continue and finish seems to evaporate.

An arrival mentality is cancerous(a mentality that brings you to a point of self sufficiency and complacency)

Both success and failure can be enemies to your progress and destiny

Keys that provoke dissatisfaction and sponsors continuity to a point of completion

  1. Vision

    What is vision?

Vision is a picture of your prophetic definition,

A picture of God’s standard(God’s expectation for you)

Vision helps you to benchmark your progress

If you do not have a God ordained reference for your life, any standard you attain higher than where you were will be enough for you.

    Habakkuk 2:2

    Philippians 3:13

    Vision gives you focus

It gives you legitimacy to say “no”

    1 Corinthians 9:24

Vision helps you to know what and what to not be part of.

  2. Maintaining a vibrant spiritual life - Spirituality is a sponsor completion

    Psalm 63:1

When you lose fire, sometimes it’s because you lost presence.

And it doesn’t have to be something bad that’ll distract you

    Acts 6:4

    2 Chronicles 26:5, 15-16, 21

    Some indexes to check spirituality

    1. Ability to tame gluttony
    2. Ability to sleep
    3. Eroding of your values

  3. Be and remain a student of history

    Romans 15:4

The direct consequence of wisdom from history is humility. History is a teacher.

That’s why it is important to read books.

Refer to the teaching: Lessons from an overcomer

    Luke 16:29

History reveals hidden dangers, educates, enlightens, reveals codes that open up doors in the future.

  4. Mentorship - An opportunity to learn the wisdom, the pain, the experience of others

Mentorship creates the platform for your progress(pruning, correcting), celebrates your progress, challenges you to press for greater heights.

It is important for you to have people and systems in your life that your success cannot intimidate.

    Proverbs 4:21

Mentorship shows the road map minus the pain factor

  5. You must be humble - practice humility.

    James 4:6

Pride is a blinder - It stops your from seeing opportunity and problems
