The power that works in us(The press for more)
By Apostle Joshua Selman

The believer’s journey in this kingdom is likened to the journey of the nation of Israel from egypt.

There were 2 faces of that journey:

  1. Deliverance
  2. Entering into the promise land

This explains how a believer grows until he comes into the fullness of his inheritance.

Everybody by default starts as a slave - a slave to sin, satan, hell, curses, darkness, everything you can find in Egypt. And then a word of deliverance comes - likened to your salvation, you literally leave that place, there is a translocation even though this happens in the spirit.

But because you have left that place does not mean that pharaoh will leave you. But the water drowned the pharaoh and his army.

But after pharaoh was dealt with, the next problem was no longer threat from Egypt, it was accuracy of perception so they would arrive the promise land.

What pharaoh(a trained army) could not do, their carelessness of perception stopped them.

That means in this business of transition until you become the full portrait of the believer, it is not all about satan and curses and sin, all those can be dealt and you would be surprised that you will never grow to step into the fullness of your inheritance. This is because the problem is not all about pharaoh, there is still a problem within.

The story of the nation of Israel should teach you that truly, pharaoh, the army, even the red sea can give way, but it is not guarantee that you will enter the promised land.

What does that mean?

You can be genuinely saved, filled with the holy ghost, righteous, holy, loving the Lord and sincerely so, but never come into the fullness of your inheritance in Christ.

It was for this reason, God gave unto some apostles, prophets, evangelist and pastors and teachers for the maturing/equipping of the saints(Eph 4:11-13)

That through maturity, the saints will be able to attain a state in the spirit called the stature of the measure of the fullness of Christ.

So every time you are in the presence of God, it is not always about satan, demons and curses.

Freeing you from satan, curses, yokes and demons are to give you the liberty to conform, grow and become the portrait of the believer and witness in Christ. But God’s greater goal is that the end point(you become the portrait of the believer and witness in Christ.)

As a preacher, don’t maintain followers, build champions out of ordinary believers. And there is a pathway to do this. There is an intelligence responsible for the transition of ordinary people, from unbelievers to believers, to transformed believers, to empowered believers, to witnesses.

There is a role you must play.

Your assignment is to submit to the transforming power of his word, ready for your capacity to be enlarged, with your minds open.

My assignment is to expose you to expose you to the truth, the bodies of knowledge that is required to transit you

For some, unbelievers, there’s a provision for you,

For some, saved but babes in Christ, you cannot handle the things of righteousness(unfruitful in spiritual things)

For some, it is to contend for transformation.

For those who have attained a commendable state of transformation, what they need is empowerment(it helps to give defense to the things that you know)

And for those empowered, but the vision is not yet clear, you need to stay with the spirit of grace to allocate a space in God’s program, because if you are empowered and serve another purpose outside your script, it will still deplete your efficiency.

Don’t be careless when you come to the presence of God - It is your opportunity to grow, transit and learn the way of God in a way and manner that produces a powerful person.

    Pray:

  1. Every dimension of grace that I must step in today by reason of knowledge, cause me to step in by your spirit.

  2. Lord you have given a prophetic declaration that this is my year of exceeding great reward.

Father whatever should have manifested in my life but is still pending, father I place a demand, in the name of Jesus.

Anything that is yet to be manifested in my life, I cry unto you o God, let it manifest in the name of Jesus.

Psalm 133:3

Ephesians 3:2-5&9

Ephesians 3:20-21 - Things from the scripture to help our growth

  • The central message is to give God glory

    Psalm 148:1-14: Psalm 150:6

John 1:3, Colossians 1:16(everything is alive- not comes from the word and comes dead)

    Romans 11:36

May your life bring God glory, all through your life time.

Say this: “in my life, be glorified!”

There is a dimension of Glory that only the church can bring.

  • It tells us the extent of God’s ability

In ancient times the greatness of Gods was measured by their ability.

Eph 3:20 - God is able to go above your desire. Settle it that anytime there is no manifestation, God’s ability is not the problem.

There is no request that comes before the throne that causes God to worry.

Your confidence as you surgeon this spirit life is directly derived from your awareness of how powerful God is.

Don’t be too use to pain, defeat, frustration and your condition, God is greater!

They are men who have the ability to say, but not do.

    2 Kings 7:18

1 samuel 5:4 - An ark and a demonic alter(dagon) falling. But now we say the ark is inside of us, how come we don’t see dagon falling

The limitation in our result is not a problem of/with God’s ability - It is never a power problem from God.

It is true that people are getting healed, what about those dying without healing and we know it’s not their time?

What about God lovers who are not working in prosperity?

Nobody will dare despise prophesyings if you have empirical proof, that by prophecy you help to navigate someones’ life towards prosperity.

The power of God is as real as it was in the bible.

    Pray:

Lord I am available, invest greater dimensions of your power upon my life

  • As abundant as this power is, it is according to the power that works in us- this possibility is limited by this rule.

This means limited by the allowance that our consecration, yieldedness and personal press gives the spirit.

It means God can be constrained, his power can be limited by the space, the saints give for that power to flow out.

The holy spirit is both the custodian and the conveyor of God’s power.

    Acts 10:38

    Romans 8:2

The holy spirit is the spirit of life.

When it has to do with the ministry of life and power, the holy spirit is called a river.

    John 7:38-39

    Revelation 22:2

    Ezekiel 47:3-9

There are 2 ways the holy spirit makes a vessel a worthy conduit of power

    1. Sanctification and Renewal- it is an inner working of the spirit.

There are 2 levels of sanctification

There is instant sanctification - happens to your spirit man at salvation.

And progressive sanctification - it happens by engaging the ministry of the word and the holy spirit.

      Ephesians 5:26

      This destroys the old man.

    2. Enlightenment - showing the ways of the spirit

      Ephesians 1:18

Every manifestation of the spirit that seems difficult to find expression through your life it is not necessarily because God does not want to manifest, it is that the holy spirit has to make do with the limitation of your yieldedness.

Anytime you say, “Lord, why is it that we trusted you but we did not see this manifestation?” 90% of the time, what happens is the bankruptcy of the flow of power.

Pray:

I am not satisfied, Lord. I thank you for what you have shown me; I thank you for what I have seen. But I tremble before you tonight in sackcloth and ashes, asking you by your grace and mercy that you will do the work of sanctification, renewal, enlightenment, and empowerment within my vessel, within my person. May I give the Holy Spirit greater flow, and may the power that works within me be in such degree and proportion that it allows the river to flow to the nations
